    Thank you sooooo much for the trick of adding the water. I was using it straight and it dried to quickly and I had to wash it off. I then remembered what you said about the water and I was so happy with the result. It was my first time trying this technique and with your help I so love how my tumbler turned out. Thank you so much :)

    When I do the tack it method I put the glue on straight but use a wet brush. It seems to help me avoid over diluting the glue. Also try using gloves for the initial burnishing, thing switch to your bare hands. I have to agree I have yet to get the glitter to lay as well with gloves on.

    • @KristisCustomCreations
      @KristisCustomCreations  Před 5 měsíci

      Welcome to the world of tumblers! Lol! Just sand the tumbler with sandpaper to rough up the service. I like to wash with dawn then wipe with acetone afterwards just to make sure there's no oil from my hands on it.

    They're beautiful I thought the pink / magenta was red in the cover photo. You don't see ENOUGH tumblers done with RED. I'm talking about a beautiful deep red. NOT orange red. Maybe you can make one soon? Too many people tend to think red is only for Christmas or Valentine. So not true you could make a beautiful summer cup using red

    Do u not seal the glitter b4 epoxy? If u use a decal, would u put it on the cup b4 epoxy or after? If u use vinyl for the decal, would the epoxy adhere well?

    • @KristisCustomCreations
      @KristisCustomCreations  Před rokem

      You can seal the glitter before epoxy but it's not required. Stealing the glitter helps keep the glitter from trying to repel the epoxy. You would want to put a code of epoxy on the tumbler before putting a decal or vinyl on it. Also, you can seal the vinyl in with epoxy after applying a vinyl decal. I hope that answers your questions!

  • @mogi88
    @mogi88 Před 3 lety +2

    Should we seal the glitter with a clear spray or am I good to just jump straight to the epoxy?

    • @KristisCustomCreations
      @KristisCustomCreations  Před 3 lety +1

      You can spray seal if you want to but the glitter isn't going to move once on with the tack it method. Sometimes since the glitter is laying so flat from the tack it method, it can help prevent fish eyes on that first coat if you spray it first. But you don't have to spray it.. most of the time with a tack it cup, I don't spray it with clear before epoxy.

    • @KristisCustomCreations
      @KristisCustomCreations  Před rokem +2

      Holographic glitter works best with the tackett method because of the way it shines. You can use any glitter but you won't get the holographic look with a regular metallic glitter.

    So I’ve just started making tumblers, just for fun bc my main creative outlet has been taken from me due to health issues, anyway I did a tack it method tumbler a couple nights ago and it took maybe an hour to get the glitter burnished/laid down, is there anyway to make that quicker/easier on the hands? Lol I just can’t spend that much physical energy getting the glitter to lay down or is this another hobby that’s not gonna work out for me bc my bod can’t handle the labor of it? I really thought this was gonna be something I could do to fill that creative void

    • @KristisCustomCreations
      @KristisCustomCreations  Před 3 lety

      Yes, there's quite a bit of effort that goes in to it. I've seen someone use a piece of a pool noodle instead of their hands but I've never personally tried it myself.

    Hi , hope someone can answer a question for me. I was wondering if I could do a second layer of glitter after I burnish it off if it doesn't look right?
    I have some spots I'm just not happy with. I'm doing a primed tube vase. My others have turned out pretty good.
    thanks for any help

      @@KristisCustomCreations I will def show you. I just decided to use a repositionable spray glue and put the first layer of fine white glitter on. Used the wax paper to press it down a little. I am considering spraying with a matte clear coat before putting the color shift glitter on. The color shift arrives Wednesday.
