Dead Reckoning, from 1946, was a fantastic crime film starring Humphrey Bogart and Lizabeth Scott, two legends of cinema, in a film together with plenty of those noir elements I love so much. I'll summarize the film and then give some closing thoughts.

And for the record, Dead Reckoning (1946) has nothing to do with the upcoming Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One film (2023) directed and produced by Christopher McQuarrie, a sequel to Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018) and the seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible film series starring Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Esai Morales, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff and Henry Czerny.

This is in my collection, but it's been ages since I've seen it. I'll have to be putting it on my rewatch list.
Thanks again for another great classic movie review. 👍
Another great movie from 1946 about someone returning from war is Nobody Lives Forever. it's one of my all time favorites. I like the theme a lot. It's about someone who sets out to fleece someone, but changes their mind.
A unshamed classic noir. All the elements are here. I like it a lot too. Good review!
I love this later career at Columbia Bogart! Ive seen it many times, and can watch anytime, great stuff!
Great classic !
Great review!! Bogey is a great actor in all of these!
Martinelli could have at least given Bogie some of that good sparkling cider.
Probably earned a copyright claim with that silly beach scene at the end of the video. Ah well, it was worth it...
Just watched it. Underrated and underseen movie. Love it! - Great video.
Hello Rob
Hey, how have you been?
@@OldMovieRob I'm going good
@@aranerem5569 Good to hear my friend
Who killed jonny drayke?
Look closely for Bogey's almost-missable changing hairlines. His wrenching marriage to Mayo Methot is said to have caused his hair loss. His 14-year paramour was actress Verita Bouvaire-Thompson, who got licensed as a studio union hairdresser to assure her presence with Bogey. In BOGEY AND ME (1982), she writes of his hairpieces, which he called "muffs". Just for fun, find the subtle differences in those used in this film.
Now you're going to have me watching for that with Bogart films going forward!
@@OldMovieRob To me, his most notorious muffs stood out in TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE. One had him getting up from a dreadful Mexican haircut. Another featured near-glamorous wavy lengths. Fun to look for.
@@rogersmith4834 That's funny! I love that film, so now I need to give it another watch, just to see the wild changes to Bogie's hair!
@@rogersmith4834....so THAT'S what the thing was (the Madre muff)
