    Thank you for an excellent detailed video. I was using your exact technique EXCEPT..... I didn't notice the wide side of the tool until you clearly pointed it out. I was also considering solid wire but it now makes sense to use flex.

    Awesome video. I've been crimping these connectors for +15 years and never noticed the crimper isn't symmetrical... It's so much easier now, I always thought it was hard because my crimper was cheap :-)

      Glad it helped Berten! It could *also* be cheap crimpers. I just thought crimping was hard for years using cheap plier-style crimpers before getting a decent tool.

    thanks for sharing. Also you can just buy female barrel connector and solder it

      Hey 1984. You can definitely solder connectors as well but if you plan on any repetitive stress or movement a crimp will hold up better - as long as you use stranded wire. I tend to solder solid core wire/connectors when they will be enclosed and free from stress and crimps on anything that will be moved/removed/bent or whatnot.
