Great video. Thanks Jackie. If I get the Pensionado Visa and then I decide to apply for the Friendly Nation's Visa. Would I lose the Pensionado Visa as soon as I apply for the FNV? Or do I still have the permanent Pensionado Visa in effect until the FNV is issued?
If you want to switch visas, you must first renounce your pensionado visa. then reapply all over again (new docs) for the Friendly Nations Visa. It cost a lot of $$$ to do that so it's better to get the visa you want the first time. Regardless of which visa you get, you still get the pensionado discounts if you are a man who is at least 60 or a woman who is at least 55
How long in advance shall I start the process for pansionado VISA. Concerned about the validity of the documents when we arrive and the time it takes to get all doc ready before coming to Panama
Jackie, thanks for the response to my other question below. On a related note, are there any benefits to the temporary Pensionado Visa over the temporary FNV? Just wondering, since it takes much longer to get the FNV.
Jackie, thanks for all the detailed information on Panama. I do qualify for the Pensionado Visa. But, in addition, I'm investigating the FNV as a possible way to open a division of a US company in Panama. So I suppose I could plan for a 4 to 6 month trip to Panama on a tourist visa. If I then decide that Panama is a good choice and location for the company, then I could apply for the FNV before my tourist visa expires. Would that then provide me with 2 more years of residency in Panama? That would simplify my travel planning between the US and Panama, as well as trips to other countries in the region.
Hi Jackie, Panamanian woman here living and working in the U.S for many, many years. Upon retiring, I'm planning on returning to Panama. Do you have any information on how I would be able to collect my social security in Panama? I can imagine it's probably the same way as Americans living in Panama, correct? Thanks in advance for any response 👍
??? How do you become a citezen for self and children. Is ther an advantage being that I have adopted children from panama as well as a minor american child,
You mentioned North Carolina to have my documents Authenticated by panama consulate. I live here in nc and I'm trying to find a location, can you help locate one for me . Much appreciated
Question: Do you have to show you are renting a property as part of the Pensionado visa process. I am getting some conflicting info. My plan is to return back to the US after the temporary visa is approved and return once the final pensionado visa has been approved. I am trying to see if part of the application process includes showing you have an address/lease in Panama during the initial application. Thanks if you have any info regarding to help clear up.
If you're single, no lease is required to get the pensionado visa. If you're married, you need to show a short term lease (even hotel stay ) to get a Pensionado visa.
How do they treat SSDI Disability income. Or a private disability insurance payment? (Paid monthly and long term) Have been trying to find someone who knows this and i am struggling. Thanks
be careful. Some disability insurance is cancelled if you are outside of the USA for more than 6 months. contact Social Security to determine what will happen to your payments if you move to Panama.
I am interested in getting the Pensionado visa, but I don't want to give up my US citizenship. Can I be a dual citizen? How to get dual citizenship for US and Panama?
Thank you I live in DC near the Panama Embassy so I could go there to get my documents reviewed and authenticated there. So basically I could get all my paperwork done and then meet with the immigration attorney to complete the paperwork?Additionally, getting my social security notarized if I don't have the form specified from social security, can I just print out my amount online and take to a notary. Is this sufficient? Thanks your presentation was outstanding and very comprehensive@@PanamaRelocationTours
??? To me is soo strange that they ask the pension is for life time. In my country when you get pension that means till your death. It's the law coming from our constitution. They have to understand that. Pension goes from the end of work till death. My pension office was smiling about my asking. They dont write a document that is obviuos in our country. They just show how much i take every month and from when. My case ten years

It will not take long to get your docs. I suggest you get them 2-3 months before you plan to come to Panama to get a visa
Jackie, thanks for the response to my other question below. On a related note, are there any benefits to the temporary Pensionado Visa over the temporary FNV? Just wondering, since it takes much longer to get the FNV.
The Pensionado Visa is ideal and less expensive to get. But if you don't qualify for it, then a Friendly Nations Visa is a good choice.
Jackie, thanks for all the detailed information on Panama.

You can have your social security direct deposited into your Panama bank account.

Five years after you have a permanent visa and cedula, you can apply for citizenship.
You mentioned North Carolina to have my documents Authenticated by panama consulate. I live here in nc and I'm trying to find a location, can you help locate one for me . Much appreciated
google search Panama Consulates in the United States - a list will come up

I am interested in getting the Pensionado visa, but I don't want to give up my US citizenship. Can I be a dual citizen? How to get dual citizenship for US and Panama?
Getting a Pensionado Visa only allows you to live in Panama indefinitely. Getting a pensionado Visa does not give you citizenship in Panama.

It's a Panama requirement. I think Panama prefers to leave out the word till DEATH.
