    Thanks for doing a video on my town! We moved here from Honolulu and what drew us to Plainfield was proximity to airport (husband works near there and we like to travel), the trail system (we love going on walks/bike rides), and the availability of everything you'd expect (your #3 con, funnily enough). In Plainfield's defense, I think it has a lot going for it and it's been diversifying quite a bit. Since moving here, Mizu Sushi (sushi and hibachi place) and Kung Fu Tea (boba place) have opened up, and we've only been here a couple of years. In town, the Prewitt Theater is now a restaurant. (Also, Gear Up is a great bicycle shop with wonderful staff.)
    I want to add that the people here are really nice and courteous. It has that small town vibe and I've never felt unsafe living here. Neighbors are friendly without being nosy, and people seem respectful and kind. I love living here.

      You bet! I'm a huge fan of Plainfield and can never understand why it doesn't get the credit it deserves. I have more videos about Plainfield coming in 2023!

    Wow! I went to elementary school in Plainfield (Brentwood.) I have not been back in 25 years and didn't recognize anything in the video. The only parks which existed the last time I visited were Franklin and Swinford. This was a lot of fun for me and will have my family watch as well. I'm looking forward to the other videos as well.

      I live in Monrovia growing up going to monrovia high School in the 80s you were hot s*** if you were dating a girl from Plainfield. For whatever reason girls from Plainfield high School were just considered more attractive. At least in my friend click

    I've lived in Plainfield for over 20 years and I love it here. Everything you need is pretty much within a few miles radius. I very seldom ever have to go outside of Plainfield, I live right in the middle between old downtown and new downtown Plainfield. Perfect!

      I grew up on Brookside. My first 2 years of Little League baseball we played at Franklin Park which is right next to you. The 3rd year they changed the baseball fields putting them next to St. Susanna Church. I always liked the houses in your area. Each home was unique, our area the houses were all similar.

    As for having more unique locally based restaurants or shops I agree. I would love to see more of it here outside your typical nation chain establisments. With the new perofrming arts center going up this will hopefully bring more of these unique locally based restaurants to pop up downtown. However, on the flip side not a lot of towns can say they have an Oasis 50's classic chrome and neon style type of diner you see in movies and tv are a rarity these days. As for trails, they just exetended one a few months ago that runs along the new hospital now which goes under St Rte 267 (Quaker Boulevard) through a tunnel. I never rode on this trail but I can imgine what they will be planning with this one. I mainly ride on the Vandalia Trail which connects to my neighborhood.

      Thanks for watching. Yes... not many places have an Oasis Diner. Pretty unique place. And I agree about the performing arts center. I hope it draws more unique places in. There's so much potential there. The trail system continues to get better!

    Hello, just moved to Plainfield from California. I’m really confused as to why the houses here not all of them but some look like they have a shared backyard ? Some houses have no fences and just no privacy. Just something I don’t get and will need to get used to

    • @LaserGuy64
      @LaserGuy64 Před rokem

      Welcome Jesse. I too am also from California, most of my life in SoCal. Most properties will not have fences unless they have dogs or some other reasons. This is a far cry from the typical CA house that has a 6 foot high block wall surrounding the lot. Get to know your neighbors!

    It seems the pandemic brought the "ugly' behavior out of citizens here in this town. I am looking forward to moving further north of Indianapolis or further south of Indianapolis very soon! No administrative, business jobs in this area. Mostly retail, warehouse. I am overeducated in this community! I grew up in Indy. I don't understand the who you know not what you know deal in this area!
