Damn, I guess you were pretty lucky to find these parts because it was only a one-time deal like the mobo, CPU, GPU, RAM kit it's gonna be hard to find something similar for the same price, also the 10 bucks PSU, just crazy. For my part I managed to get a fairly good deal :
- i5 3350p
- 2x8gb ddr3 1600mhz
- 256gb ssd hyperx
- asus gtx 750 ti 2gb
- big fat corsair case (don't know the model, it's pretty old but has a lacrylic glass and looks kinda modern)
- 450w power supply
All for 120€ !

got a 2060s. r5 3600, b550 plus, 16gb ddr 3600mhz ram, 750w psu, and a case for 400 dollars thx to fb marketplace. also a rlly nice noctua fan followed with the motherboard and cpu.

for the same price you can find used Ryzen 3 3100 and A320 motherboard also a 16gb ddr4 3200mhz, all used but slightly higher price or same price if you're lucky, just my opinion :D

What do you think was the main cause of stuttering in fortnite ? Was it the CPU and would overclocking it have helped ?
I've recently bought a 4790k system, need to do a case swap. I'll be putting in a 1070 rather than the 1660 super you used.
Most likely the ram. I don’t think it was running at the best speed and also over clocking it would definitely help!

You gotta get the settings right on Fortnite, pretty bad settings for the performance when you load default medium settings, low mesh, and turn off anti aliasing and you’d prob get +10-15 frames

that's actually my setup other than the motherboard, I can tell it is good for entry level gaming even mid level if you will.

The video is misleading in that the cited price isn't necessarily repeatable. Moreover, for a few of the components (SSD, cable extension), they were "just lying around." And some of the items were procured as a collection (SSD, case). So, saying "$20 for SSD" isn't the whole truth.
I built a Ryzen 5 system, also with a 1660 Super, and it cost me about twice as much, which is realistic relative to much more easily accessible sellers (Amazon, ebay) than FB Marketplace and driving down the street as fortuitous luck.

Best deal that i found was a i5-7600k+Mobo+cooler and 16gb Ram for 85€ found out that the Mobo was dead, bought a new one for 30€, i had an old abandoned Case with two blue rgb fans and an old psu that i only hat to pay shipping for and then found an gtx 1080 for 150€ and 256gb ssd for 20€ so combined a good Gaming pc for 285€ still my friend couldn't afford it, now i'm thinking of selling it without graphics card for 200-250 or if i should swap the case+argb fans with controler for 120€ and then sell it for 550-600...what do you think? Btw greetings from germany, i love to see your videos, trying to flipp pc's too, i am always waiting for your videos, gives me motivation thanks.

I think the cpu is a bottleneck there. I’ve got a 1660 super paired with a Ryzen 5 5600X. I get 75-90 FPS in the new CoD depending on map location.

CPU can oc to 4.3 - 4.4ghz comfortably with a decent cooler and is actually a fairly decent cpu
He should’ve used the Ryzen 3 3300x but since this is an Intel motherboard, he would’ve paid more for another deal

You don't always need to buy a Windows key for budget gaming PCs, for two reasons.
One, a used mobo may already have an OEM Windows key attached to it, though this is not always the case.
Two, with Proton and Proton GE, Linux gaming has come a long way, and Linux is an increasingly viable OS for gamers. This does have the limitation that not all games are compatible with Linux even with Proton compatibility layers.

@@ElijahsLab I mean, it wasn't that long ago that I would have agreed where gaming PCs are concerned. Back in the days of Steam Machines, Linux was completely unsuitable and the OS _alone_ would have sunk them. But now, the Proton compatibility layer has matured to the point that the custom Linux-based OS optimized for portable gaming is an outright killer app for the Steam Deck, as an example.
Granted, the "killer app" part is SteamOS being optimized for portability and energy conservation in ways that aren't relevant to desktops or even living room gaming PCs. But compatibility on Linux+Proton is actually reasonable now, and the snowball is rolling and it's only improving from here.
@@belladonna5012 Although Linux may be fine for a tech enthusiast it's not fit for the type of person who would buy this PC from Elijah. That is a person who doesn't know or hasn't the time to build their own PC, that person does not want to bother with learning to use Linux or it's compatibility issues. That person would also be put off by an unactivated windows. When windows can be activated for under £15, sometimes under £10 with a discount code like Elijah gave it more than makes its money back in the increased number of people that would buy the PC.
I look forward to see the future improvements in Linux but for the moment for PC flippers its activated windows all the way.

Yes
that cpu could use a much better video card, normally such a slow card an i3 would be ideal, either 12100 or 13100, but if your planning to upgrade your gpu then the i5K is fine

My brother is one of these idiots with more money than sense that chases all the latest tech. He spent 3 times the amount on his new 4070 (that is not an upgrade for him as he was using a 3090) than I spent on my entire build. Guess what? We can both play Elden Ring in the highest settings. Yes I had to grab a few 2nd hand parts from pals and local individuals but I have ended up with a 570 mobo, ryzen 7, RX 5700, 16gb ddr4, 1 tb ssd, win10, corsair carbide case, 24 inch asus monitor for 480 bucks. My brother has nearly 6 grand into his set up , hasnt completed a game since Diablo 1997 but has a bunch of expensive crap that only he ever looks at.

4th gen cpus are great for budget builds like this. Unfortunately if its an i7, even a locked one, the temps are going to be brutal on a stress test even if you have a good cooler on it because of the awful TIM these originally shipped with. I usually delid my haswell chips and get at least a 20 degree drop on max load temps. But, if you just stick to gaming you should be ok without a delid as long as you dont use a stock cooler
