10:25, You can take apart the handle by taking off the 4 screws in the back, taking the one long bolt holding the handle in and wiggling it out and you can spray paint that, pretty simple and you dont need to waste tape or overspray!
Hey zach using fabric launcher and sodium gives you a TON more fps and using iris shaders you can enable shaders with the best possible performance. Also a popular texture pack is Faithful 32 because it just upscales the textures so it looks super clean.

I tried fabric softener and salt but it didn't give me any increase in FPS. 😂
You got that machine for a song. Similar machines on ebay right now are $150. I do really like your choice for GPU for an ultra budget gaming rig.

Not a bad idea! Just simple and clean vinyl.
I'd add a separate test with optifine for your minecraft testing. It's not always up to date but when it is it's a free and simple performance boost.

Hey Zach great video! The downside to going with a Xeon and the 6400 here is now you have no hardware encoding options. Next time you do an OEM flip like this, can you also do an encoder comparison between something like the i7-6700 with Intel QSV and the 1650 LP with Nvenc? I think that would be really cool for people looking to get into streaming on a budget.

While you're right, this Xeon does not have an iGPU, it's worth nothing that some models do, like the 1245 v5... for example.

i would recommend using the GDlauncher for Minecraft to try out modpacks. (good ones to stress test with are "ATM 6" or "Better MC [PLUS] 1.16.5")

I’m the further would it be possible to upgrade these builds by moving it to a new case? And then later on the road upgrading parts
you could definitely try testing the "better minecraft" modpack (it's on curseforge) and bsl shaders (the most common shaders used on minecraft as far as i know)

Yeah, sometimes you just have to pounce. I bought an Opti 7060 SFF with an i7-8700 and 16GB RAM for a whopping $50 at a company silent auction. They had a bunch of them, slapped a $50 bid on all of them, only ended up getting the one, but hey! $50 for a fully Win11 compliant PC? All day long, man. No storage device, of course.

I basically copied this build with a Z240 16 gb ddr4, 500gp ssd, rx6400 and i5 6500 and cannot even get 35-45 fps is most games on low settings, any idea what could be the main issue?

I'm from India and we don't have ebay. An i7 860 system costs similar to total of this build. It rarely comes with 16 gigs of ram. Is there any chance i can build something like this?

Well, if you really want to play with this thing : 1, Rip the side panel open 😁 2. get the 8-pin Dell to regular 24-pin ATX adapter 3. now you could buy proper PSU 4. get the proper GPU (RX-580 for $80 on AliExpress, used 1060, 1070 etc ...) 5. If you really want to find some beat up PC case of regular size, so you could repackage whole deal .

Apart from the cost of a new case, is there anything else in the way of just taking all the components out of the oem case and placeing them in a larger case that could accommodate a larger gpu?
Proprietary connectors for power (and PSU Is not ATX), front panel and often just getting a cheap board for the same generation and a Xeon (until 4th gen) or LGA 1151 laptop mutant from China (for 6th to 9th gen) is a better choice/cheaper. Often times $50 more in total will land you in a completely different category of "real PC" and not get you stuck with a total of 1 parts (usually storage) that can be transfered into a new system. Keep in mind, these OEMs usually also run slow af RAM and you can't adjust timings at all - something even A/H series boards will let you do generally.
Sometimes (and often) these OEMs have proprietary connectors all over the place, usually for power and case buttons. Case swapping an OEM build requires a HUGE amount of research beforehand to make sure you're getting a compatible model.
E5-...v5?,now that's a mighty chip,the 6400 doesn't do it justice

Hey Zach, I have a question. Is 16gb of ram really needed? I found your exact model but it only has 8 GB of ram and is 60 dollars
It is not necessary but definitely a big plus for price to performance. anything over 16 gigs is also overkill
If you're not playing 2021+ games or programming/modelling/video editing or playing heavy ram games that use lots of props and textures n shit you don't need more than 8
