    What’s the Best Dyson Pure Cool air purifier?
    The best air purifier is the one that best meets your needs and desires. Dyson does a nice job in creating purifiers with different form factors, specs, and features, which can help meet the specific needs of the users.
    In our view, there are 3 models, each of which is the best Dyson Pure Cool air purifier in its respective category.
    Best Overall: Dyson Pure Cool DP04
    Best Value: Dyson Pure Cool TP02
    Best Compact: Dyson Pure Cool Me BP01
    Best Dyson Pure Cool Overall
    The Dyson Pure Cool DP04 is our best overall pick due to its high air flow, mid-sized form factor, a dual filter design. The DP04 has the 2nd highest air flow, purifying 419 liters / sec. It uses 2 filters, a large HEPA to remove particulates and an activated carbon filter to remove smells and VOCs. Lastly, the mid-size design is nice whether it’s in a corner of a room, on your desk, or on a table.
    If you prefer a bit more of a modern looking piece go with the Dyson Pure Cool TP04. Like the DP04, it also uses a 2 filter design. However, it’s considering taller and leaner than the DP series. In addition, its airflow isn’t quite as high, but still more than sufficient for most.
    Best Value Dyson Pure Cool
    When it comes to the best value, the Dyson Pure Cool TP02 is the winner. The TP02 uses the tall tower design, a single large HEPA filter, and is able to purify 410 liters / sec. While we do wish the TP02 used the dual filter design, the raw purification power coupled with the price point makes this a standout value winner in our minds.
    If the 2 filter design is important to you then you should go with the DP04. While it is more expensive, it’s not as pricey as the TP04. It’s a nice in-between price point.
    Best Compact Dyson Pure Cool
    Last, but not least, we have the newest Dyson Pure Cool, the Pure Cool Me BP01. This purifier is designed for personal use. The compact design limits its airflow output to 257 liters / sec. However, that’s still going to be enough for most small and mid-sized rooms. It includes a HEPA filter and a compelling price point.

    I purchased TWO TP02 based on your comparison where it shows 180 degree oscillation and it's not even close to that. When I called Dyson they confirmed that it is only 70 degrees. My bad for not checking the offical specs before purcahsing. you should be more careful with your comparisons.

    What happens when the house HVAC turns on? Does dirty air get pushed into the room much faster then the units can handle?

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před 3 lety +2

      It depends on your HVAC and how dirty the bulk of the air in your home is. It will also depend on the fan speed of the Dyson.
      In most cases, it will certainly increase the particulate count in the room, but the Dyson should be able to keep up. Just bear in mind that turning on the HVAC, opening doors / windows, etc. all introduces new sources are particulates, which will often mean the Dyson needs to turn on / increase speed to keep air purified to the lowest levels.

    Thank you for your videos and for the detailed tests that you perform.
    I just ordered a tp01 and was hoping to clarify something… A lot of websites claim that Dysons are not that great at purifying d/t their low CADR rating (especially 70 for tp01, which is pretty low). Dyson claims that it is an outdated test.
    Have you noticed in your tests that the low CADR rating of Dysons makes them inferior to other purifiers, or even plays a role?

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před 2 lety +2

      In all of my Dyson tests to date I have not seen any significant correlation between CADR and performance.
      Dyson does tend to be on the lighter end for CADR compared to many other purifiers, but still performs great...if you put it on high and put it in a central area of your home it's going to do great.
      I wouldn't say CADR is totally outdated or worthless, but just because it's a little on the lower side doesn't necessarily mean the performance is going to be lacking.

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před 3 lety +4

      We don't have any immediate plans to...mostly because the core technology isn't really any different compared to the other Dyson air purifiers we've tested. The only major performance difference is it's smaller and better for small to medium sized spaces (due to the air flow capacity).
      Beyond that, it's the same design, same filters, etc.
      If your purifying a space 250 square feet or less, you're probably okay with the BP01. If it's bigger than that, you may want to upgrade.

    • @imaaronman
      @imaaronman Před 3 lety +1

      Modern Castle I guess it’s fine then because it’s for my personal bedroom. By the way, would it be correct in saying that the BP01 has an active carbon filter within the 360 HEPA filter? Or only the 04 class has active carbon filters? Because I also have a TP04 in another room but I feel like the room feels much cleaner with it. Maybe that’s just placebo but I was wondering if you would know.

      For the best budget friendly option I'm a big fan of Levoit. You can read all about them here - moderncastle.com/levoit-air-purifier-reviews/
      For you I would recommend a Levoit Core 300 for the baby's room - amzn.to/33S4eQ6
      And a Levoit Vital 100 - amzn.to/2FyzJ7i?tag=moderncastle-20 - use this one in common areas, living room, family room, etc. Basically any larger rooms where the baby spends a lot of time.
      If you don't mind moving the purifier around with the baby then just get a Vital 100. It covers up to 500 square feet. The Core 300 is good for around 215.

      @@wenfuu We'll be sure to make a mention of that specifically in any future Dyson air purifier videos.
      To clarify though, the feature is pretty basic. You can shift the entire amplifier 15 degrees in a forward or backward leaning direction, giving you a little more control over the air flow direction. It is not automated and it will not turn on its own like the oscillation. You have to manually place it there.

      @@ModernCastle thanks for the info!
      i agree its basic and manual but for me it's really important as I planned to put it on the floor near my desk.
      I also have a bean bag nearby my desk so the tilt will come in handy to me as I lied close to the ground while taking naps. It's very hot and humid here in my place so I need all the airflow to be redirected to me as much possible 😅

    TP01 Test?

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Před 3 lety

      We haven't done a full test on the TP01 yet. Just a specs comparison. Though it's still extremely similar to the TP02, so performance should be as well.

      @ModernCastle  Před rokem

      No kidding...seems that Dyson may be discontinuing or at the least slowing production on the TP04 / TP02...DP04 seems like it's gone. I can never find that one anymore.
      Newer TP07 is the next generation, so they may just make that their new "standard", replacing the TP04.

    They totally have fan blades . Just because they are calling it an impeller Is irrelevant as cleaning a dirty one is way more of a pain than an ordinary fan.

      @Utrilus Před 2 lety

      Yeah, the fan blades are in the base, just pushing the air into tubes and out the slots to the side.

      You should buy something else then. You may a lot for the purification performance from the Dyson Pure Cool series.
