I just love this. I remember as a kid loving dandelions in every stage to bring flowers to mom, or blowing the puff balls to make a wish, and was so sad when I was told it was a "weed" that needed to be gotten rid of. I think God places a delight in kids to appreciate His creation.😊 Thankfully now, I'm going back to appreciating ALL of His Creation!
I agree! I do not know one kid that has not thought they were wonderful, I know I loved them too and have had many dance students and my own boys bring me them as flowers. They were right to do so!
Yes! I try to blow these puffs all over my yard. Most people hate them in their yard. To me they are beautiful flowers. They are pleasant to look at. They look like a bunch of little suns 🌞 🌞 🌞.
I use to play with them too, now I love dandelions the flowers roots leaves all are medicine. I use them for tea.
Yeah, the chemlawn industry wants us to take chemicals instead of nature. What we call medicinal plants and flowers, they call weeds.
I had a neighbor who got so angry about my dandelions in my yard that he moved on five acres. Now that he's into gardens, Guess what he love now!!!! Too funny!!!
Really cool how God can pack so much power into such a humble and often overlooked little plant.
YES AMEN!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!
I get laughed at by family and neighbors for eating dandelions and drying them so put in my smoothies during the winter. People laughed at things that are not yet part of the main stream and I've always lived outside that stream and love walking my own path. This year I actually planted dandelion seeds and they are flourishing. While I sip my morning pine needle/lemon/ginger/turmeric tea I tour the garden chomping on dandelions and the sweet tips of my hemlock tree.
All this because I was so blessed to find your youtube channel. Thank you for sharing all this valuable information.
Aw! Thank you!
I laugh at myself for once paying for boxed dandelion tea in the store when it's free in my backyard. When not in season, I drink tea from the free mint growing outside my backdoor. Mexican stores have interesting dried offerings for teas and idea makers. I add a bag of Bigalo Cinnamon Tea Bag with four Lipton bags when I make iced tea & it has a delightful hint of cinnamon that adds variety to my day.
How wonderful is God's creation. God said this is for food and medicine.
Where I buy tea from ?
@@luciacalero1217 Once upon a time all they used for medication was herbs. Then, he story goes, Rockefeller learned that he could make meds from petroleum, funded a bunch of medical schools and Dr's and taught them that the only way to heal was using meds. They then called herbal medication "alternative" prescribed by "quacks." I'm off all big pharma meds that were prescribed to me (blood pressure and cholesterol) and feel much better. I stay far away from vaccines too.
Grandpa used dandelion milk (from the root) to clear the warts on my fingers when I was little. It would turn black, but we kept applying it daily and they all fell off in a couple weeks
Yes my nama did that to me and it worked!
I used to take a dandelion supplement, my doctor had a fit, i said why feel that way its a good digestion aid. I saw him about 6 months later at a restaurant. He apologized to me as he got some for aunt and it helped her. Take that Doc!
That is great! haha
I used to always make dandelion wine. Its very medicinal. Warm it up, that dissipates the alcohol. Wrap yourself in a warm blanket or towel and when you get up in the morning youve sweated a lot of tge toxins out making you feel much better.
The reason being for your doctor acting that way is simple.
Doctors are thought in medical schools worldwide about Physiology/ Anatomy and so on they learn to apply drugs for certain symptoms.
That's that.
It's very hard to convince a doctor that what grows in our soil is good for you.
Why certain animals eat specific plants?.
They use what's been "implanted" in them and that's their "sense" they don't use logic like humans do.
Humans are easily persuaded to scientific research etc.
Besides all plants have carbon in them and that's something that human/animal bodies accept, drugs of any kind don't!. Drugs will not fix you!. Drugs will control your symptoms to a certain degree until you develop other conditions of using them.

@@sebastianliwinski222 considering how big pHARMa and corporate food manufacturers work hand in hand, it’s no wonder why they have pushed killing off this beneficial “weed”.
Interesting . How deceived we are . I grew up being taught and believing it is a bad weed that needs to be destroyed . I'm going to grow a whole pot this summer. Thanks for the video
God is Good all the time.
Bees love it I love it
God made man howevef and man thinking hes a genius comes up with Roundup......arrrgh
BEWARE OF THESE THAT IDIOTS HAVE SPRAYED WITH THAT!
There is alot of bad people spreading bad info on great things like a dandelion. God help us all that believe 🙏
It grows wild everywhere and just regarded as a weed. I picked one last week and keep a really good clean and had it in a salad. It was really nice. They must be cleaned really well because dogs usually pee on them.
Index:
0:00 - Intro "Miracle plant"
2:05 - Benefits list, but a little history first, and different kinds of dandelions, like the "Cat's Ear" (more cat fur, and more rounded, with multiple flowers on each stem)
4:12 - Vitamins you get from dandelions. "Have some every day!"
5:00 - Other benefits
7:00 - Benefits of "the best part" which is the root.
7:30 - Benefits of leaves - for digestion, helps milk production, good for detox.
8:25 - Benefits of flowers (both topically and ingested!)
9:00 - Benefits of stem sap, including eczema.
10:00 - Benefits to other plants and insects.
10:30 - Preservation techniques
11:50 - Benefits of leaving dandelions to grow in your garden (no weeding!)
13:30 - Dandelions for hair care!
14:20 - other uses and other flowers.
15:30 - "green" tea!
16:30 - more on preserving nutrients, including the roots, and when they are best harvested.
The rest is all good advice and doesn't seem like an index would be all that useful.
Thanks Heidi! I didn't hear any input from Biscotti, but he's a dog, so woof woof!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for spreading the word on Dandelion!! Many don't know just what a miracle plant it really is. Everyone should eat/drink/roast dandelion 😊
I’m a master dandelion grower 😊
I have the biggest most beautiful dandelions this year in my garden, not sure where all the seeds came from but I’m trying to embrace them 😘
I'm sure my neighbors think I've just fallen off the cliff, I go out daily and cut dandelion leaves and flowers to bring inside to put in my salad or just dry. They don't ask they just give you that look. We all know the look, but I'm happy to be getting healthier for the choices I have made over the last 10 years.
lovelight91
Lol that's hilarious. I feel the same way but trying to get people on board with herbs is difficult! I gave up. Who cares anymore if they don't get it. 😂
I just love all your videos, but this one I especially love. My grandmother used to tell me stories of the foods they'd forage in the mountains of Southern Oregon almost 100 years ago, and dandelions were one of them. She said every summer she and her sisters would go out and forage Dandelions and fry them up or eat them in salads. Interestingly, her great grandmother had learned to use medicinal plants from the Delaware Indians when she lived in Southern Missouri in the early 1800s.
Same
thank u this is very interesting... i was reading a book set in the 1800's i stumbled on a section about the harvest of them...that brought me to this video n your delightful comment
Yes, Indians always had a medicine man that foraged plants for medicine in old cowboy and Indian western movies.
"God is good all the time". First time I have watched one of your videos and I like you already with that quote alone!! Hoping to find some good recipes for dandelion flowers.
She's a wealth of information for sure and definitely a treasured sister in Christ Jesus. 😊
My dandelion salve (made with the blossoms) is a best seller in my shop...folks are always amazed at how much it helps with their aches and pains. I have not yet ventured into the leaf/roots. I go up into the mountains to forage them and the last two years I just couldn't get to it. I've been out once so far this year and making sure I get out more to stock up! Thanks for the great video! Continued Blessings in Christ!
Will you share your recipe for salve? Thanks
@@barbara_m_h7963 Dandelion flower-infused oil and beeswax...it's that simple. God Bless!
Kl@@silenttreenaturals
My stepdad used to make me dig up all the dandelions in our yard when I wasn’t busy 😢 every spring, for punishment. Wish I’d known the benefits in the mid 70s… I’d have brought them in and used them. I now definitely get them picked before my lawn care (mower man) gets here. Thank you Heidi!❤
I love when she says " God is good all the time "
🙂
I just allways get very depressed when someone says God is allways good. I do not see the truth about that. I see everywhere in this world the fact, that God was not even there.

Dandelion is a known TONIC herb & is good for many things 💖 Thanks for the thorough reminder!
When I was little I used to use dandelion sap on my cuts and scrapes when I would play in the woods. Only used it back then because I figured out that it stopped the bleeding and the pain almost instantly!
Never knew it was an official use 🤣
I had no idea you could do this! :ooo
Same here! 😅Thought it was my own discovery!
As a child I made "salads", "hamburgers" with "lettuce" and "potions". I'd sprinkle broken stems on the mudpie hamburger, mix up the leaves with grass and leaves of a Mimosa tree as a salad, and put the flowers in my potions with Mimosa tree flowers and Honeysuckle. I had no idea you could actually eat them. Lol
You never cease to amaze me with the wealth of medicinal wisdom you have Heidi. Thanks so much ad God bless!
That is kind of you to say, thank you!
God bless
Hi Heidi, Thank you for another wonderful video!! I am really enjoying my leisurely Saturday morning with you!! It's as thought you are right here with me chatting over coffee!! :-) Thanks for sharing all this info about dandelions. It's always amazing to me how what so many folks think of as simple weeds are actually filled with so many benefits!! Love, Mary
I know I commented back to this but now I see it is gone...weird. So just in case you did not see it I was just letting you know how much I appreciate your kind words and for taking the time for our videos :)
Heidi always has such useful gold nuggets of info. My mother used to do forage for safe dandelions and I remember having dandelion tea when young. Recently she got transferred to memory care so she may not remember her own wonderful recipes but I do remember what she shared with her loved ones and community of friends.
@Gale Espressos 🌿☔🌱🌄💐
I'm hoping that you and your Mom have many happy years to come.
Could you please share as many of her recipes as possible on this channel? My family and friends never foraged for these wonderful plants, so I don't have any hands on experience yet. I've always gardened and left dandelions growing for their beauty, but now I'd like to start reaping the health rewards, too❣️🤩🌲🌲🌲
MCT oil and coconut oil for Alzheimer's
@@newhorizons898 what is MCT oil?
I put egg shells under and around my tomatoes last year and i noticed the dandelions in that garden area are huge and so healthy this year. After watching this viseo I'm going to start grazing in my yard.
Egg shells or good it’s good for soil and plants
Dandelion is an endangered species in my yard ever since I discovered that the flowers are delicious!
I knew dandelions had some benefits..I did not realize how much until i started watching your videos..Thank you !!
I used to make my own cosmetics and shampoos 40 years ago when I lived in Germany. Every "Apotheke" = drugstore is full of dried plants not only pills like in the USA. If I used my homemade Rosemary shampoo or Nettle shampoo I never needed a conditioner. TFS
How would rosemary shampoo be made?
It's unbelievable! I cannot believe how great of a weed, I use to refer it to with a new job that name, and getting them out of my yard yearly as quick as possible! I appreciate your video today very well. It is very very informative! My relatives and friends will get a copy sent to them a little bit later today! Currently 4:30am my time! I am very interested in learning more from you! Thank You! Oh! By the way, I am going to love not killing my many many dandelions I have growing in my fenced in back yard! I'll drive the 2 women who are always snooping out their window to try and see into my back yard, wanting to know what I am doing next! I surely won't be sharing that information to them! 😊
I've been doing the mixed greens now...my husband makes bagels for the farmers markets, and now he makes a wild herb bagel😁
This year we decided to let our backyard grow wild around our garden. It is amazing what is growing. Everything. The bees are back and are loving the wild plants and produce. Great video. Rhonda
if you find wild violets they make a delightful jelly!! it has a somewhat berryish flavor ♡ ❤ I let my yard get overgrown to harvest dandion for jelly and violets for jelly and plantain for salve and salad lol..
I love to roast the roots! Makes the house smell like chocolate cake 😁
I heard that from another video.
How do you roast dandelion? Do you add anything to it while roasting.?
Me too
drying banana peels also makes the place smell like cocoa. can then grind it fine for baking or preparing raw foods, or for fertilizing plants.
I've known these plants are benefical for years. I deliberately leave them grow and spread. First food for bees after winter as well.
I pick them with my other greens
Thank you for being so detailed, clear, pointed straight to it and not drugged out, full of so many benefits.
Love it and thank you. Good presentation😊
EDIT: Last nights thunderboomer blew off some of my squash blossoms. And my tomatoes & pumpkin have really rotted off from excess rain. SO WASH OFF MY BLOOMS & AM ADDING TO MY DEHYDRATED FLOWERS FOR FALL.
Thank you very much for all those information about plants. I learned a lot from you, thanks God BLESSED you and your family!!!!!!

We roll the blooms in eggs and milk, then roll in corn meal and flower and fry in oil. So delicious!
Very informative and useful video on one of the most underrated and 'misunderstood' plants on planet Earth. Thanks for sharing knowledge! 👍
The chemlawn industry is a huge one here. As if everyone wants to live in a chemical cesspool with yellow grass and burnt trim. Ugh!!!! I just told my neighbors that their lawn is the ugliest on the block together with the front neighbor who sprays almost daily. What a way to waste the money they take from disability for their daughter who has a side business cleaning houses with mom.
Four to Five house a day!!!
And the mom has bad knees. The disabled daughter is a cleaning dervish.
Sometimes, it's all I can do not to report them.
Good morning Heidi. Love the videos on herbs. I make sure I have dandelion in one of my tea blends daily. Then later for our main meal I use it in my salad. Thanks for sharing and spreading your knowledge about herbs. FREE is good.
God gives us what we need, people just need to learn what all of it can be used for. My aunt that married into the family many years ago used to pick the leafs of the plant and eat them fresh and cooked. So many in the family laughed at her. I didn't, i wanted to know more because my great grandmother used many plants and bark. I know because she would take me with her until i learned what she was wanting. She passed alot down to me because I was the only one of the great grandchildren that was interested. I have to read or watch something every so often to remind myself. Thank you so much for the wonderful vedios.
Indeed
Thank you, this is really something I had not heard. Great video
Awesome information, how did I miss this? All the nutrients and benefits all in one, Thank you God first & thank you Heidi for this packed full of goodness video. Blessings to both of you from Bonney Lake, WA

My daughter used dandelion sap on my granddaughters wart on her finger, and It came off! Again, Mind blown! I’m going to suggest it to my friend, who has a eczema issue on her hand! Thank you Heidi!!!
Love reading these testimonials and that people share them here for others to see that these things do indeed work!
I have had success with a salve made from a channel by lovely greens called salve for eczema and psoriasis. I take quercetin as well but it worked. It has neem oil which isn't well known in the USA. I use the organic made for skin nit the garden. Goodluck
Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you and your family!

Thanks so much for the pictures in your explanation.

I like that you incorporate pictures. When referencing herbs.
And you are led to believe that the dandelion plant is a pesky weed, when in reality it is a wonderful plant with amazing health benefits. Love dandelion

Thank you Bonnie :D
What I love this video. It's very informative. I'm a new subscriber and have learned so much from you. I just started trying to ween myself off my armour thyroid. I'm going to try this for sure.
Your video delivers the same type of benefits that the dandelions also bring :)
In the past l would put a cooked dressing over the leaves of dandelion also with onions and hardboiled eggs added. Very good.
My favorite recipe is a French hot potato salad using dandelion greens.
Good presentation
I found a recipe for dandelion jelly that I have just got to try!
Been making dandelion jelly now for three-years. People can't get enough of it!
I love dandelions, they are absolutely amazing
Great information! Thus have helped me a lot! It’s time now to begin to harvest!
Wow thank you . Great information 😍
I love Dandelion and am soo glad it has resisted chemical annihilation in yards and fields. :) Just want to share that the flowers are 115 times higher in poly phenol than found in the roots. Discovered that last year and have taken more interest in the flowers.
So glad you are here Heidi. God Bless.
Thank you so much for this video

If I ever try making soap, I will try using dandelion flowers.
Hi this is a great video so thanks.
Gracias for yours videos very important information..👍
Thank you for the info. God IS good.
Infused some dandelions couple months ago. Making salve today!
Great video again Heidi! Will have to try that dandelion flower vinegar. Made some vinegar a bit back using lemon peels. Sure has quite the smell, but worked well as a hair rinse and is nothing in cost.
I've watched a few of these dandelion videos and never hear that like here in Fort Worth, the flowers close like an umbrella until morning when they reopen again. Roots, flowers, it's easier on an old man's back to snap off a flower head than to dig up the roots in my hard Texas soil. Not that I won't do it in the future, many times I just sit in a chair harvesting flower heads. My back yard is hard but safe soil, not since at least 28 years ago has any weed killers or other poison been used on it.
I really do not dig the roots up much anymore as the leaves and flowers are my favorite parts. I like to pick the flowers as soon as they open in the morning.
I am thankful you did this video on dandelions, I had some I dehydrated last year. This motivates me to get back to adding it to my tea blends. It certainly has great benefits, much of my health needs at the moment thank you.dear friend, blessings
Thank you!
Thank you Heid😊
I use the flower in an oil for breast health. I use that with pine and massage it into my chest after showers. Apology if you said already! I'm listening as I do my dishes. I learned some new things today, thank you.
Great vid, informative. Tku 🌞
And all the time, God is good !

My mum used to make honey out of dandelion flowers. I'm so replacing my boring lawn with fun dandelions. Bees love them, it's a no brainer.
Wonderful information to help us along in troubled times. I have made wild leaf lettuce salve. My husband had terrible pain in both knees. After applying 30 minutes later he said 80 % of pain gone. And he's a hard sceptical. Not anymore.
How do you make salve?? My husband is really having knee problems
Do you have link in how to make the salve?
Dandelions are also good for dogs. My mom is from the Midwest and dandelions used to grow on the farm and the dogs used to eat them. Now how much they can consume I'm not sure make sure you do your research but my mom did say that the dogs that they had they ate the dandelions
Just be sure that if they do eat the dandelions that you have wash the pesticides and herbicides off the plant in the leaves
O yes, certainly, we never use any of that stuff here so it is not an issue
I love this video
I drink a small amount of coffee and put dandelion root in the pot, or brew root separately and add coffee to my dandelion tea. Enhances, or blends well with the coffee flavor. Excellent video🙏
