I didnt serve, I did go the security contractor route but I hung out sowts, jtacs and other SF out there exercising with them as a dumb civilian at 2 in the morning. Years later I got into muay thai, and my coach went into indoc to go JTAC route, found out my nephew failed indoc for JTAC but went back and got CCT. Years later I'm to stupid to pass the asvab but I'm glad cool folks who do get to go. At least I'm old and I'm happy others got to join.
Okay guys I’m trying to help my son. He’s training to be a future PJ. Needs ruck, I’m seeing Alice is recommended. Which one, LC-1,LC-2, Tactical Tailor Malice. He’s currently using an Eberlestock Fastrack, humping 50#, 12 miles. Or does it even matter?
It matters a lot when you’re talking hard frame vs soft. The Fast track is a great rigid frame ruck although not as specific as the Ataclete Alice pack or others. Keep in mind, the rucks are not what get people. Shin and foot conditioning from rucking are good things, but rucking should be sprinkled in training and not a main food group pre-A&S. Not saying don’t do it, just saying, there’s lots of other areas to focus on before that. Let us know if you have questions and good luck to your son!!! What other questions you got?
