Hi, Portuguese here, the portuguese like all Indo-europeans come from the same tribe the Yamnaya, they invaded the Iberian Peninsula 5000 thousand years ago, when we look at the haplogroup R1b, most if not all Portuguese carry it, R1b is also the most common haplogroup in people from Western europe, Northen europe and the Ukranian and Russian steppe, we have know that the Yamnaya are from this area and that around 5000 thousand years they conquered there way into Europe eventually making there way to the Iberian Peninsula and in just 100 years all male bloodlines dissapeared, the Iberian DNA continued through the Iberian women that passed their genes to the sons and daughters they had with the Yamnaya invaders, the father gives the Y chromosome and like i mentioned before all male bloodlines dissapeared from Iberia the only that remained is the Yamnaya one confirming further that we like all other Europenas descend from this culture. To make clear this group of people were so influencial in todays world that we are still speaking a language that comes from theirs (latin also comes from early Indo-European). But let me clarify what i mean when i say that the we descend from this nomadic steppe warrior culture and why their Haplogroup is imporant to make us understand where we come from, Haplogroup R1b, specifically the Z2103 subclade of R1b-L23, is the most common Y-DNA haplogroup found among the Yamnaya specimens. This haplogroup is rare in Western Europe and mainly exists in Southeastern Europe today, Additionally, a minority are found to belong to haplogroup I2, however most Europeans carry some from of the R1b haplogroup. To sumarize if you are European you most likely have the R1b haplogroup meaning that you are a direct descendant of the Yamnaya, the Iberians today are a mix of the native Iberians and part of the Yamnaya and Bell beaker culture (wich is just a later culture that is descendant of the Yamnaya). They also invented the wheel and tamed the horse and their height was around 180cm on average and some of them reached the 195 cm in height let me remind this was the Bronze age there height is most likely due to the hability of drinking raw milk in adulthood, its now knowed they refused agricultural life style wich means they were not sedentary and eated little to no grains this explains why their teeth are still in perfect condition in the moment of death, this indicates that their diet was mostly meat, milk, honey and some eggs and fruits, there is also evidence that they gived Europeans the hability of consuming milk in adulthood.
It happened in all of Europe this misterios yamnaya
most of R1B HAPLO PEOPLE IN IBERIAN PENINSULA arrived lately in iberia from other near by countrys , the oldest people in iberian peninsula today present in Iberia are not rb1 but j 1 j2 g , e1b I, AND OTHERS , THERE IS OLD CLADS OF R1B THAT SURVIVED THE SLAUGHTER OF THE ROMANS BUT NOT MANY
Oh you are talking about the Aryans. Makes sense.
Yet american afrocentrists claim iberians were black africans😂😂😂
@@badabinbadaboom7338 well no - but they all came from Africa and what color they had is unknown - but on the way north they had time to adopt - means they got "whiter"

First. This channel is great!
I've actually been interested in the iberian peninsula ever since wish
My friend, from a spaniard who recognized the greatest of Mali King Musa, i recommend you the story of Fort Moses in Florida, a group of black soldiers who fight for Spain against the british in Florida, or the stories of Garrido and the nurse Barrido in the conquest of Mexico.
Did you know the aragonese king Jaume I try to go to Ethiopia for help the kingdom there in their crusader against the muslim kingdoms?
Happy more people can be interested in the long and sometimes complicated history of Spain 😊
Thank you for this video. I did find the music too melodramatic though…

Hoy, tambien nos conquistan, 82 millones de turistas que vienen a España.😂😂😊
Thank you very much for this beautiful documentary.
The Iberian peninsular was the major trade, marketing place in Europe - all cultures either conquered or had a foothold there - and they contributed to the rise of the Roman Empire a lot. They were rich in agriculture and famous for the silver mines. There was no real Iberian peninsula wide culture / realm - it was alway split in many smaller territories. It took the Romans 200 years to conquer all of the peninsular. That changed after the Reconquista...but that´s a different story all together.
Don't forget the Phoenicians and Tartessos.
I would like to suggest a topic; the Phoenicians and their paths around the Mediterranean. They brought the alphabet, pottery, forge, olive trees and grapevines. Thanks ☺️
Iberia was the only region that escaped to the common famines of Europe. In Portugal oranges grew in January. It was a promise land for north europeans.
True if they only would have known - imagine you were member of some German tribe in the middle of a Teutoburger Forest - you would have no idea....
Not only for the Europeans. Phoenicians and Philistines (people from the sea) were trading and even had settlements along the Mediterranean Coast like Gadir or Tartessos (the latter is still a mistery were they came from).
For some way of comunication, the Swabians, Visigoths, Alani among others knew that going Southwest would be the best way for escaping the killer famines.
Please do a video about Madagascar and the surrounding Islands nearby😊
Could you also do a dive into the copper age and bronze age history of the Iberian Peninsula, especially the El Argar culture that has been dubbed the "Iberian Troy" by some archaeologists? That's an often overlooked aspect that I personally find very interesting.
The conquest of Iberia was a process similar to that happened in the Americas; different civilizations [ Celts, Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans] trying to conquer and submit native people. In fact the Iberian Peninsula was plenty of forests still preserved in the north of the peninsula.
Lusitanians! ❤🇵🇹
❤❤❤
What is a " trade rout"?
I just came across the ancient lusitanian grimoire with there ancient pagan gods and it seems very interesting. I think u have to come from Spain or Portugal to worship them and it was a 20 year project because the lusitanian gods would not cooperate because of blood line issues I think

Not all inhabitants of the Iberian peninsula were Iberians, there was many other groups as significant as Iberians that didn't speak the same language, had the same culture of genetics, this video speak of the inhabitants of the Iberian peninsula as they were all Iberians and that is very far from truth
Yeah 👍. We don't know the origen of Tartessos, for instance.
N kk
Spaniards were integrated by ancient romans, not conquered. Many great Roman Emperors were born from Spanish origin
The origins of roots and etnicithy of Spaniards (invasións included not determinants by number of foreigner population) ; with the more countries) is Iberian; Celts and Tartessians ; yes Adriano or Trajan this Spanish Thurdethane origin are Román Emperors
Oh yes and gladiators
They were conquered and then assimilated. You can actually look it up during the reign of Augustus.

Nobody hates our roman heritage, but it is what it is.
@@LuDa-lf1xd roman ? ha ha ha iberians are , Germanic Austrians mixed with Balkan Thracian tribes , they are Balkan stock people = Hittites Canaanites
Important to mention that iberians were not indo-european, they were the descendants of a previous migration. The basque has been proved to be the last iberian language and it is probably related with some non-arabic languages from the north of Africa like the Amazigh.

I wonder if there are Berbers today? Indigenous people of North Africa. It is possible to have a connection with the Iberian people, make a video
of course there are Berber man. 18 million people in Morocco speak Berber languages
Canarians are literally a mix between Guanches ( autochtonous berbers) and Spaniards
North africans do have ties with Iberia as there has always been interaction between the two shores of the mediterranean. Most of us have more tha 20% Iberian DNA. In my own case 25% since from the North of Morocco (Tetuan/Rif).

1:22 that's a bit more than just "some evidence" mate 🤦♂
The Celts are one of the main ancestors of modern Iberians, that's perfectly established in history, language, culture, genetics, etc....
Maybe these muricans have some trouble processing that, because they imagined that Iberia was some sort of exotic tcha tcha tcha land, so they play down the description of Celtic influence to "some evidence"🤦♂🤦♂
IBERIANS ARE THE MOST CELTIC RELATED PEOPLE TODAY IN THE WORLD THERE IS NO OTHER, JUST FAKE ENGLISH NARRATIVES THAT SET THE CELTIC BASE IN THE SKOTIAS AND IRISH BUT THEY ARE JUST DISTANT RELATED TO CELTIC PEOPLE
They had the higher ground
The Christianization of the barbarians was written by St Martin of Braga. Also the Christianization of the Germanics Swabians from Arianists in good Catholics.

The Iberians are a specific culture within the Iberian Peninsula, with a specific language, a specific script and a specific religion, distinct from Aquitanians, Celts, Lusitanians orTartessians, other people also native from the peninsula.
Aquitanian aren't Iberians
Celts aren't Iberians
Lusitanians aren't Iberians
Tartessians aren't Iberians.
Terrible videos which conflates all of these distinct cultures as if they were all the same.
It's all so tiresome.

Came here 'cause of WIsh
They lived on the cost and didnt know about shipping
Others knew better and always conquered the peninsular in waves....all larger kingdoms / Empires did
Iberia is the first civilization.
In turn the Spaniards integrated the Americans and didn't conquer them. That's why Hispanic America is so mixed and intertwined racially and culturally. Very different from the Northern Europeans.
Do you know the definition of the word conquest? That they have been integrated does not nullify the fact that they have been conquered
Too many serious mistakes. The Iberian language is a separate branch of the Indo-European language family, totally unrelated to Basque language. The Celts are what did he say....
Today, spanirads and Portuguese are not native to iberia
Romani, go home!.
Iberia is Georgia, country. Europe was already inhabited by Pelasgians, Etruscans, Picts, Basques, Celt-Iberians are Iberian people, today's Europe arose as a result of Indo-Europeans and Iberian people, Iberians lived there before Indo-European people.
