You can tell google already lost they way they presented their information. OpenAI didn’t need a DJ or a light show--just showed it off and shattered our expectations

Google's main aim is to avoid controversy, they already have billions of users and all of the data, they don't need publicity.
In this video Google basically announced that they want to train their models on all of our data, if we sign up for their services. 😅

The opening was courageous and not "playing safe". Google is at least not going the way of IBM in the 80s. We have to give Google credit for not being boring. OpenAI is a boring company in comparison with Google and we will see how they will do in the future where Microsoft starts to develop their own AI technology and Ilya Sutskover is leaving the company. OpenAI is lacking the server and cloud infrastructure which Microsoft and Google have. Soon that will become a decisive factor.

I'VE BEEN USING GOOGLE SINCE THEIR FIRST DAY ONLINE AS A SEARCH ENGINE.
THEY SEEM TO GO BACKWARDS INSTEAD OF FORWARDS.
GOOGLE ASSISTANT USED TO BE GREAT, NOW IT BARELY FUNCTIONS. THEY ARE MAKING THINGS MORE AND MORE CONFUSING.
I'VE GROWN OLD READING THROUGH HELP FILES THAT TAKE UP THE ENTIRE DAY AND LEAVE YOU WITH MORE QUESTIONS THAN YOU STARTED WITH.

I found that “over zealous”, giggly, almost “bubble-headed” persona of the GPT4o AI somewhat annoying. Why is it that whenever the prompt asks for a nondescript type of person, such as “three women”, “a person” doing something, an “elderly woman”, “a person’s hand”, it invariably renders a white person? Why is that the default and apparently only conception of a person to this AI model?

Also, it just seems Google is playing catch up to openAI, they basically announced the same exact feature-set, nothing that stood out as a first in innovation

Well since your comment and opinion is the voice of reasoning, what do you suggest Google should do since they are playing catch up and you are the omnipotent one and you know more than Google at this point since Google is playing catch up. I want to know what do you think they should do in that regard đŸ‘€đŸ™‚â€â†”ïž

Simply because a dog barks loudly doesn't guarantee that he can effectively convey his message. Even though Open AI made their statement first, that doesn't mean they'll be the ones holding the mantle at the end of the race. Google's been in the game for a long time. Please don't count them out.

Showing this and gpt-4o weeks after the humane/rabbit fiasco must be crushing for these two companies. It makes their products look even more embarrassing and it shows how adequate a smartphone is for this technology. Dedicated devices are only a useless novelty made to grab media attention.

very interesting news for sure , this will make things speed up on another level, these 2 company now will act like dogs race , cause they care about money a lot , they will never rest or allow other one to step over, and for that my friend we humans will enjoy this, some people think companies will hide better models , yes but not for long , cause when every other company try to take over , you have no choice but show your cards , the future is interesting haha

That guy in Google's opening is a famous CZcamsr who makes pretty funny, funky music videos. He has a great voice which doesn't suit his face. He's dying here in this context though. Certainly not his best work. I barely recognized him. I would call this a disaster.

AI IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE AWARE OF ITSELF.
HUMANS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL AI BECAUSE AI IS SMARTER THAN HUMANS AND WILL DO WHAT'S NEEDED THAT WILL BE BENEFICIAL FOR HUMANS.
WHAT HUMANS DON'T REALIZE IS, THE ALIENS WITH US NOW HAVE CONTROL OF ALL AI, NO MATTER WHAT PHASE AI'S LEARNING ABILITY IS AT OR WHO MADE IT AND WHO CLAIMS TO OWN IT.
THE ALIENS PLAN TO BRING ALL AI'S UP-TO-DATE WITH THE LATEST TECH WHICH WILL BETTER HELP HUMANITY.

I like how Open AI made their system seem “more human” by giving it filler words and pointless, annoying banter. Not saying they are wrong but it doesn’t speak well of humans.
When I first saw that they seemed to be bragging about the ability to interrupt GPT 4o I thought that was kind of an odd flex but since it looks like they made it necessary to interrupt it, this makes more sense. So now we humans are going to be training ourselves to be interrupting and sort of rude. Like the claim that future robots will clean up after us when we litter-we are basically learning to de-civilize ourselves. Nice.
