    Thank you very much for the video.
    The fluffy head didn’t spin around so I had to take it completely apart to get all the hair out and twine. Now it works perfectly and you save me £65

    V10Absolute purchased July 2018. Fluffy Head stopped spinning. As there was nothing obvious stopping it from working assumed it was a motor problem and as a replacement was going to cost $A170+ which I was not prepared to pay decided to let an electrician friend have a play. Using a meter thingy he ascertained one wire not connecting (no power) so started to disassemble (as above but did not actually have to remove the motor itself) which led to removing purple concertina tube and red buttons (challenge in itself). The broken black wire was in a slotted section in the round grey plastic tube which surrounds the purple concertina hose. Long story short....as he could not get access to do a complete re-wire, he joined the broken wire, drilled a hole above the red button on the backside and another in the clear plastic bracket that holds the brush head onto the part with the concertina hose and pulled both wires through and although I now have the wiring on the outside the whole outfit is working as new . I'd post photos if I could.

    Thank you soooo much for this! I've just spent half an hour removing the hair which had become tightly wrapped around the spindle on the rear, small roller with an old (blunt) steak knife. I wish I'd thought to look on CZcams first! Having followed your instructions and removed the side bit and the fluffy head, I was horrified to see how much hair had wrapped itself around the spindle. Now that I've removed it, I can try and clean the fluffy head itself with a bit of detergent and an old toothbrush. Thanks again!

    İ think some models doesnt have a back roller it just has weels first you need to take apart the four screws at the bottom than the tiny screw in the left if you are looking from the back (there is no screw under the label) then turn it upside down and pull the part that has big weels it will come up a little And pull from the part that is in the spot of the back roller it will come off and its same from there

    I had an issue with my roller not spinning. I took it apart, cleaned it and then turned on the Dyson without putting the roller on to see what the motor was doing. The cross looking part at the end of the motor would rotate couple times and then stops spinning. Do you think there is a repair for that? Should it be rotating the entire time?

    • @OpenMeUpTec
      @OpenMeUpTec  Před 4 lety

      so at 8.00 in the video thats the motor. it should be spinning as long as the trigger is press. i recommend you to disassemble everything and just test the motor itself. if it is not working it is most likely dead. it is a simple product therefore i dont beliebe you can fix a dead motor.

      @@OpenMeUpTec + @JI Wel2 .. My soft roller is not spinning when connected to the vacuum unit (V6 absolute) .. i tried the vacuum unit with other roller attachments and they all spin OK .. so its not a problem with vacuum battery (1month old), connectors, or shafts .. So I did the "open me up" teardown too, but found only small clumps of dust fibres to clear - nothing significant .. While the motor was isolated (as per video 10:02), I held the roller motor wire terminals directly onto (kitchen knives inserted into) slots of standalone Dyson battery - the motor spins for a whole second after pressing the battery switch button .. Also I tested and confirmed connectivity from the roller motor terminals back to the power pins of the roller's shaft .. Overall I could not find a problem aspect .. Have a V12 absolute. I HATE this stupid design. If you have someone in the house that sheds long hair, this machine is a PAIN to clean and untangle. You need a torx screwdriver to clean this machine.
    I have switched to a Roborock vacuum machine with a dust bag assembly in the docking station. My life has been so much better since. I just need a cloth to wipe the hard to reach areas once in awhile and I'm done.
    Maintenance of the robo-vacuum is basically tool-less.
    These machines are supposed to make your life easier... Not harder.
