    As a dog rescue, we have a ton of kibble on the floor! We were getting frustrated that our V8 wasn't picking it up (without us picking it up and putting it over the kibble, like you showed). We'll get the fluffy tool now, thanks to your awesome demonstration! Thank you!

    The direct drive carpet/hardfloor head will preform just as well as the fluffy tool on hardfloors in terms of dust and small debris like rice, cous cous, pieces of small flat paper, glitter, etc. But the fluffy shines in big debris pick up, using less power than the carpet head and to keep scattering in control (although it can spit some debris back out in the front, or flick big piece of dirt in front of it). But to be fair, the direct drive carpet and hardfloors head doesn't scatter as much as you may think.

Also explains what the direct drive system is all about which I wanted to know as well.

    Love the vid and I’m definitely gonna get a fluffy head for mine. The fluffy roller of the rubbish Shark I had was one of its redeeming features and I found it really good on picking up fine dust and lager bits on my floors. Got my fluffy roller on order for my V11 Torque. I see where both roller types are beneficial. With 2,600 sq ft of hardwood flooring, dust is my main concern and I can see where the fluffy roller would work well for attacking dust.

    Our sons spill popped popcorn on the floor sometimes and the Fluffy head "eats" it while the direct drive motorhead would just push it. Fluffy head makes a cleaner hard floor but the motorhead still works well.

    We no longer have carpeting except for a few throw rugs. The man who installed our oak floors was impressed by the Dyson fluffy head and felt it was the best head for the wood floors. I love it and feel that our brush head might leave some light scratches. The fluffy head does a fantastic job of cleaning and dusting. I use eithe the small motorized head or the larger head for the carpets. If you have wood and tile like we do, the fluffy head is invaluable! Love it! It is a more efficient use of the battery because it glides with ease over bare floors.

      I find the direct driver cleaning head (non-fluffy) picks up longer strands of either hair or dust with less fuss including sucking it in from around the vacuum head albeit it still has to be very close as opposed to the fluffy requiring the head actually go over the exact spot I.e you have to be more precise in ensuring your strokes are either slightly over lapping or being mindful of the exact coverage of the head. I can happily be 1-2 cm out from my previous stroke without overlap and still pick up the surround dust/hair whereas the fluffy would simply leave the it there (this is in the low and medium settings)

    It's kinda dumb that the base Dyson packages offer no choice of cleaning head. With all this talk of HEPA filters and easy-empty bins and allergies, you'd think Dyson would be catering to people who value the air quality in their home and thus DO NOT have rugs at all. The fact that they pack in a cleaning head that works better on rugs and can't pick up the smallest objects on hardfloors really makes little sense. Hard to believe this is not a way to try and upsell people into the more expensive packages.

    • @leepspvideo
      @leepspvideo  Před 5 lety +1

      I’m not sure if the fluffy head would be better for a large amount of hair on a hard floor. I suspect the ordinary carpet head may do a better job as there is a large space between the brushes. The best bet would be to bag up some hair and ask them in a local store if you could try both.

    I'm thinking of buying a V8 Animal from Costco (it's on sale at the moment). I have a combination of hardwood, linoleum, and carpeting in my small home. The V8 Animal does not come with the fluffy head, so my one concern is that it might scratch my hardwood floors (I don't generally have any bigger pieces of anything to vacuum up so I don't need the fluffy head for that reason). Can anyone tell me if the carpet cleaning head that comes with the V8 Animal would definitely scratch hard wood? I do like the idea of not having to change the heads, and I think the carpet cleaning head would be enough for me, but I'd hate to ruin my hard wood.

      It seems to suggest using a cleaner with a roller Brush you can switch off. This isn’t an option on Dyson cordless vacuum cleaners. You can turn off the brush roller on mains powered Dyson’s.
      Dyson have made hard floor tools in the past like this one

      For me hair doesn’t seem to tangle with the fluffy head. It does with the all floors head.
      The fluffy head is only good on hard floors.

    Question - does the Absolute head fit on the Dyson V8 Animal? I have heard that you have to buy an entire new vacuum if you want the "fluffy" head and that's ridiculous! I would be willing to pay the extra money for the fluffy head now since I am replacing my floors but really don't want to buy an entire new vacuum since my vacuum is only 7 months old!

    • @leepspvideo
      @leepspvideo  Před 6 lety +1

      I believe this is still the case. If you log into your Dyson account there is a replacement parts tab. The fluffy head shows up on mine( V7 total clean). If its still not showing I would email Dyson support.

    I read reviews that said you need the fluffy head for tiles because the direct cleaning head eventually ends up scratching tiles or other hard floors. Would you say this is true? I am thinking of buying a dyson and needing to lift it up to pick up larger debris isn't an issue for me. I'm more concerned about damaging the floor at this point.

    • @leepspvideo
      @leepspvideo  Před 2 lety

      I haven’t experienced scratching, but I don’t have tiles. The fluffy is just better for hard floors, even if you don’t need it for picking up larger debris

      Yes, I haven’t tried it for a while. Register your Dyson and create an account. You will then be able to browse the accessories available for your machine on the MyDyson website.

    Hi! I'm planning to get a dyson fluffy myself, but I was wondering if I need to vacuum my medium sized carpet once in a while, will the fluffy head still be able to do it? I thought about the possibility of using the mini motorized tool (included) but due to it's narrow size I would guess that it might take quite a while to be able to cover the whole carpet.

    • @leepspvideo
      @leepspvideo  Před 6 lety

      Hi, the fluffy head will work fine on medium carpet. It won’t do as thorough a clean as the carpet head. I wouldn’t want to use the mini turbine for a reasonable sized carpet.

    I recently moved into an apartment with a fully carpeted bedroom that has a gray color. After a few months of using a fluffy vacuum head on the carpet, I noticed that the carpet's pattern is not as clean as it used to be. Upon checking the cleaner compartment, I found gray fibers, which I initially thought were cat hair or debris left by the previous tenant. Now, I suspect that the fluffy vacuum head is pulling out fibers from the carpet. I wonder if using a soft roller would be a better option to protect the carpet. Or is it inevitable that both fluffy heads and soft rollers can slowly damage the carpet, regardless of which one is used?
