Maybe the wood expanded a tiny bit compared to the other type?
With such tight tolerances the wood mite have swelled a bit with a atmospheric condition-humidity. Therefore making it difficult to open at first.

Some wood likes to expand or contract if it’s to cold or warm. So coulda been that.

Seems like a higher difficulty per the time taken to solve it. I've seen you spend a similar amount of time on a 2 or even a 3 rating puzzle. Nice puzzle though, but now I'm hungry for a chocolate chip cookie.

Hey Mr. Puzzle, I've been watching for a while and I have one suggestion for a minor change to your video format. I feel like moving the Difficulty Rating to after the solve would greatly benefit the viewer engagement.
DanielWGK He puts it before so that people who are looking to possibly buy the puzzle know what difficulty he rates it without spoiling the solution. Many people are only interested in buying higher rated puzzles, so putting the rating before lets them know that they can go ahead and just watch the whole video if it’s rated low.

Today I found out that your hands are realy small as I just baught one of the puzzles.
Do it yourself, visit the Woodglut website and find out how.
I am not sure you completely solved the puzzle. I would think you would be able to disassemble it into pieces when solved. After all it was made and assembled.

Of someone watched the start of the egg video, decided they wanted to buy it so they stopped at the spoiler break, then watched this video, some of the mystery of the egg is ruined. That's what the spoiler break is for. It's literally called a spoiler break.
