Thanks man. Huge help. Between things like this and soldering the rear tail light back to function, I’m regretting the GMC Yukon. Wish I would have stuck with Toyota
3M double sided tape is one of the best inventions ever created.
I did this on my daughters Tahoe using VHB, the next level up from the tape shown, and it lasted about 2 months. Now I’m going for Epoxy
Great video, thanks. This was one of the 1st fixes on my 2015. I reattached the bracket to the applique with Gorilla glue and then secured the forward facing side with 3M so the wind couldn't get under it. If these aren't properly secured they can create an awful noise @ highway speeds.
I have 2015 and the transmission is so clunky! Park to drive - clunk. Come to stop and go - kick! Going down hill and car shifts 4th to 5th - Thunk. I feel stressed every time I hit the gas like the trans is going to drop.
@@dskokos77 Yep, my 8L90 was like that as well. Changed out the transmission fluid and filter and it helped a lot. Make sure to use Mobile 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP. I’ve done it twice now. Each time it’s a little better for a little longer.
I've been waiting for this video. Thank you so much!!
Saved me from thinking I had to buy a whole new piece!!!
Having to do this now on my Silverado thank you
Thanks for sharing! I guess these things all have double sided glue underneath. I have a 5th gen 4Runner and the passenger side door trim had a similar issue at that location, but I can also see some rust started building underneath the top corner. I wonder how difficult is it to remove the whole trim to treat the rust?
Same issue thanks
The quick fix with 3M tage is a great option, If anyone wants to go through the full replacement, I shared 7 short videos to help with those details. Here's the link toe video #1: czcams.com/video/WcbHhTg6nyU/video.html
Easy subscription. Great video!!!!
Thank you for this video
I see there is an updated video link. Do you recommend the 3m tape solution or the gorilla tape solution?
Was hoping to see how to take that metal clip off....I bought new/unfaded replacements
Thank you for this video. How long did this fix hold? I have the same issue with my 2015 Suburban and would like a long lasting fix.
So far as long as old as the video is
I repainted my truck almost 5 years ago and used the same tape to apply my fender emblems. They are still solidly attached.
Mine lasted about 6 months. Everything was cleaned well before install.
The link you posted to the tape sent me to the right tape but the wrong size. I didn’t even notice . Long story short bought it 😞
Just double it
I have a 2015 Yukon and appreciate the detailed videos you are putting out! I had to fix the piece you show in this video, but now the piece rearward of the rear door has come loose in the bottom (the rear door somehow caught the edge of it and popped it out). I’ve tried pushing it back toward the c-pillar but no luck. Any chance you’ve had to replace this stationary strip mounted rearward of the rear door on the c-pillar? I’d prefer to not break it more trying to fix it. Thanks again
I haven’t. I would look up the replacement part and look at its it’s probably more clips that broke so you’ll likely have to pull the old one off and pop a new one in
Appreciated. Thanks again!
Thank you
Great video man. That tape is the best. 👌👌👌👌
Monster squash Racing Thank you 🙏🏼
i see you did 2 of these one with gorilla tape and another with 3M double side which one is better ?
The thicker 3m seemed to work best
