    I love how on $ 70,000 vehicles you have to tape pieces of trim on because GM won't do a recall on something that is pretty common

      I completely agree. I almost didn’t buy it for all the small problems it has, but it’s made a great suv for my repair channel and after all the small stuff it’s been a great suv czcams.com/play/PLIjr-uSYDZi7J7EQ1ErTn1Yzi6ET_3Ssr.html

    Glad I found this video, went to Cadillac dealership yesterday and they are asking $1300.00 to replace 3 door trims on my 2015 Escalade. Heading to homedepot tonight for the gorilla glue. Thanks again

    Just what I needed. I have all four still attached but several are beginning to flap. The dealership wanted 675.00 to replace’em. I still have’em, your way fixed the problem. Thank You!!!

    I had a $60,000 Yukon now a Suburban and it happened in both of them. Lazy ass Shotty work!! Gotta love it. Dealership tried charging me $114 per trim! Needless to say I went to this video and did it for the cost of the tape!

    thank you! My trim blew off on the interstate, just ordered a new one and pretty sure it won't fly off again with all the gorilla tape.

    I fixed the trim in my Tahoe but with a small change. You may consider gluing the nut to the plastic trim.

    Looks like at 2 of these have started to pull away near the top on my yukon. The bottom clips must not have broken free yet and I can only pull slightly at the top edge leading me to beleive they might still be partially holding on. How can I try and pull these off without breaking the clips further? Pull straight back? Thanks

    Danny, thanks for sharing very informative videos. I was wondering if you've had an issue with your rear seats vibrating/rattling? I have a 2015 Denali with that problem.

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage

      I do because my tires have cupped from bad front suspension. It rattles at slow speeds as if I’m driving over rumble strips. May not be your same issue

    Nice job on the video. Just to check, you didn't use any of the , what appear to be, clips or gromets in the door? Just double-sided tape? The replacement Trim piece I purchased from the Dealer has a little tab on it that has to slide in under the bottom chrome trim of the window that goes across the door. It didn't appear you had to loosen anything to get behind it. The piece i have requires that I loosen something or it will break the little tab.

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Před 3 lety +3

      Yes, I'm using double sided tape because those taps are broken which is why its coming off. A new factory replacement would fix it properly but you need to remove the old broken clips off the studs.

  • @MrArob826
    @MrArob826 Před 2 lety +3

    Yeah this video is a bit late for me, but if this happens again I'll know what to do. I feel that this piece was a TERRIBLE idea.
    I had to replace all four doors

    So is this stuff better than the 3m tape you used in previous video?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  Před 4 lety +3

      flatliners2011 Yes. If only the top bracket has come apart the 3m will work, but when all the clips have come off this is a much stronger bond, and goes the length of the piece. However, I could also see using 3m on this in addition and have both 🙌🏼
