- In this video we take look at Hello Puppets and explain the games story and mysteries. Hello Puppets a VR based horror game about a TV Puppet show called Mortimer's Handeemen which was cancelled after a fire broke-out at the studio under mysterious circumstances. Years later investigators reported hauntings at the abandoned warehouse and so we assume the role of a young reporter looking to write a paranormal article for their college newspaper. However they soon discover that the puppets have taken over their puppeteers and now use them for their sinister plan of world domination. This video looks at all the characters and major events from the Hello Puppets timeline to explain the story of the game and hopefully give you a greater understanding of what exactly happened to these puppets and their creators.

If this game ever has a sequel, I'd like them to rework and revamp their current version first, and the sequel would probably feature how the host tries to bring Scout back to life. She's a puppet and they're dealing with dark magic here. Should be possible.

thezapgamer I’d love this, but I feel like the game has a hidden message, cause if you see the end, when scout dies your hand is still there, but the stitches are gone, I also noticed that you never talk as your character, I think that is because, none of this happened, the character you play has gone insane after watching his co workers be killed in a fire, and this is some sadistic dream that you play, and when scout dies, it’s when the character realizes all of this isn’t real, the bright light at the end of the corridor on your way out is the bright lights you see as you wake up in a mental hospital that you were put it after the fire because you went crazy, this is probably wrong and everything that happens in the game is real, but I feel like that would make sense to me

Knowing what I do about voodoo & various magicks, the spell Owen used wasn't properly bound. When casting any spell, the caster needs to ground the energies of the spell then bind it all in the proper way.
Didn't probably help that he wasn't grounded himself.
That kind of desperation has got to add all kinds of chaotic energy to the mix...
@@chaossmith3864 It definitely does. To work any spell or spells without a level head as well as unbalanced emotions throw the whole work into a dark spiral that few can return from relatively unharmed.
So what you are saying is because he wasn't calm and was emotionally desperate, the spell didn't work?
@@keirameetze831 Oh, it did work. Just not how Owen intended it to. Having a stable emotional state when working any kind of spell or ritual is key to its success. If one isn't calm or in the right state of emotion, it leaves the caster open to evil spirits and demons.

Their should be a DLC or prequel game where we play as Anthony and that we sneak around the warehouse witnessing everything he claims in the tapes while also possibly encountering daisy danger and nick nack and discovering what happens to both of them and why they are not included in the story.
Here is my theory:
UPDATE: Due to the existence of photos displaying Riley capturing people in the outside world, it may seem like this disproves this theory. However, let me explain. Riley alongside Mortimer and Daisy are all part of the main crew, which were created by Owen Gibson and hence were the initial puppets which became sentient. These main puppets overpowered Owen Gibson and took his life in the process, as seen by the scare which appears later on in the game. Since these main puppets used Owen’s life source, they are genuinely real and are capable of existing in our dimension. This is why Riley is capable of lying about the willingness of the hosts that she brought in; the main crew are the only ones aware of the truth. The puppets made later on were a result of the work of the main puppets, not Owen, and hence do not have the same capability of existing in the real world. This is why Riley can easily manipulate them, the main cast are the only source of information the later-made puppets have when it comes to info about the outside world and the source of these hosts. This is also the reason Scout thought the “host’s world” was a terrible place. I hope this answers everyones’ questions about these photos.
Start of Theory:
Honestly I think the reason Scout died might not be because of her missing arm, due to the reasons I will detail below. First of all, when Scout dies, the stitches connected to your arm simply fade away and she returns to a normal puppet form when she dies. This hints at the possibility of the reason for her fading away being due to you, ‘the host’, leaving the haunted ruins. The ruins in which the puppets gained their powers possibly exists in a seperate dimension, in which spells and voodoo magic actually work. Hence, when the protagonist leaves the area, all the spells that were affecting him/her diminish, causing Scout to return to being a regular puppet and causing the stitches to completely disappear. Also, normally the hosts of the puppets have one of their hands severed for the puppet to be stitched on. This is especially apparent when you take control of Scout and observe your host self, showing the stump you have where scout left you. To further prove my point, you see many severed hands laying around in the area as you traverse the ruins. However, once you leave the area, your hand returns to a regular state, without any wounds or cuts, proving my theory further, that all the spells in the ruins become redundant once you leave the ruins. This means that Scout would lose her life either way, no matter if she wounded herself or not, since her consciousness is completely based on voodoo magic and spells as seen in the introduction of the game. This also proves that Anthony Pierson’s goal of bringing evidence would be a completely impossible achievement, since once he left the ruins with the puppet it would immediately turn back to normal, hence destroying his evidence. This also means that the stitches sealing your mouth would completely diminish once you left the area, meaning that after the ending of the game, you as the protagonist would easily return back to normal life, without having any physical marks from your experience in the ruins. You also would have no proof that would back your claims if you tried to report what happened to you to the police.
Therefore, according to my theory, there is no way you would be able to achieve a better ending, since there is no way of taking Scout with you to the real world.
Hmmm, but wasn't there one of the pictures by the tapes of Riley kidnapping a person?
Maybe it's just that with Scout, it's weaker magic! sTILL, I DONT WANT TO ACCEPT A WORLD WHERE SCOUT ALWAYS HAS TO DIE SOB
I actually like this theory (which is funny, because that is also my theory on why Scout “died”)
Perhaps the injury made the magic 'bled out' as if it was blood, fused with her stuffing. Look, man, I JUST WANNA BE BROS WITH SCOUT OUTSIDE THE FACILITY
When I saw the ending this was my immediate thought, glad i'm not the only one who thought this
Really hope they actually install a good ending where Scout actually lives in the end, which will lead to a sequel to us actually returning to the studio and stopping Mortimer and his puppet horror.
Or maybe our character could make their own puppet, bring it to life, and have it actually work the way Owen wanted it to. This original puppet could have custom buffs designed by our character to help them in advance to make it through the studio (since we've already been through it once). We could then put on our puppet, have the same mechanics as Scout (ex. communication through nodding, body-swapping, etc) and go through the game with more places unlocked. Perhaps we could see more of Daisy Danger and Nick Nack.
I then imagine we would run into a deformed version of Scout, or alternatively one who had been brought back to life and was being tortured by Mortimer/Riley. Through some amount of trials, we'll be able to return Scout to her complete self, and leave safely after putting an end to the puppets' plan of world domination.
Extra: Based on the player's decisions throughout the game, maybe there could be two endings? One where the player goes on to make the talk show, this time with our original puppet and Scout, and the other where, say, Mortimer survived by some miracle and just before the player leaves with their puppets, with his last dying puppet breath, casts a final incantation on both puppets. Scout and our puppet take full control over the player, and continue Mortimer's plan of world domination. It ends with the same talk show shown in the "good ending", except this time, something is different. Behind the scenes, there is something more sinister going on.
I don't know though, just having fun! I really like this game :)
This game deserves a update or a TLC that introduces Nick Nack and Daisy Danger.
Daisy danger is that sock puppet we saw in the end
@@cortezcrawford3708 No, that is a sock puppet named Kathy. If you look at the sock puppet and Daisy, they both have completely different hair styles and Daisy does not have a red bow in her hair.
Finally watched your whole series. What a gem of a game. Really hope they expand on this lore and plot in the future. It's got a lot of potential!
I still belive that what Owen said was true, that the puppets had a soul, but when they got awakend into sentient life they sorta acted like what they should be tho with the lack of humanity and with very destinct character traits whichs fits their role from the show just abit bendt out of shape by the spell, so Owens magic worked but just not in the right way, tho i do belive why Daisy is transformed might be because she might have felt ashamed of their actions over time, and well who knows what nick nack thought and did but both might not have been the best of friends with Mortimer who seems to lead as a Tyrant tho he can't losse some of his most valueable of puppets, the main 4 of the show and the ones we picked were actually meant for the children that visted the set in their golden years hence why there are so many of them, and why scout has a more destinct personality then let us say the sockpuppets who are crudely made and well monsters. But yea it seems that what both Mortimer and Railey are missing is the abillity to feel ashamed and grief of their actions which is what makes us humans and not cruel monsters

Coming here after seeing Hello Puppets Midnight Show.
I just hope this game gets an expansion or a sequel! It felt short and it feels like there is more lore to be had.
If there was a sequel, how could it go? I'm kinda hoping for a return of the Host and maybe a resurrected Scout or a new puppet to be our companion throughout the game. They would return to the studio, feeling like while they escaped from this nightmare they didn't end it. Maybe strange new episodes of Mortimer's Handeemen start appearing on TV or online, hinting that they are getting ready to unleash their world conquering plan.
I really liked watching your playthrough of this game, but the game itself seemed unfinished. The posters and blurbs at the beginning seem to foreshadow encounters with all four of the Handeemen, yet we only ever meet two of them. It gives the impression that they had planned for the game to contain a lot more content than it does, but ran out of time and/or funding before it could all be implemented. I can easily imagine Nick Nack being similar in character to Sander Cohen, or Daisy Danger having a sort of bipolar personality like that of Alice Angel, and it's a shame we never actually get to see those characters in-game.
In the options area at the beginning of the game, it looked like there were mountings for multiple handpuppets. what happens if you play as all five?
Ok

Rosco is adorable
I hope they expand a bit so we can see daisy and nick. And scout should live
I think Nick Knack is a black sheep of the main four puppets. He's described as being at odds with Riley who is closest to Mortimer. Scout even seems less scared of him, while she only really talks about his love for music, she doesn't seem all that scared, Compared to when going into the other two rooms. Maybe Nick Knack doesn't like what the others are doing, but he's smart enough to not try anything that would get him killed or put him into a situation where Riley would change him into a monster like she did to Daisy. Additionally he isn't at the teaparty nor is he mentioned even though Mortimer would have been pissed if he was supoosed to be there.
I think nick would be like scout in a way, she mentioned she began to like the "host" world after watching it on TV. Nick might have a similar stance due to his interest in the arts and would've mostly had "hosts" to look up too and admire due to that.
I wished it was longer! This is one of the few stories I have played that kept me hooked and interested in finding out more of the Lore and the characters. Hope it gets a sequel.
That's not Daisy Danger, Daisy Danger is with nick nack that's just one of Riley's experiments. think about it why would Riley do that to one of her friends or colleague it doesn't make sense. Or maybe Daisy Xscape so they try to make another one
lol the friendly fox tbf I can totally see her killing one of her colleagues. The crazy gets to you
She experimented on her beloved DOG. Yet, it isn't because she disloves him. It she is willing to do that to someone she loves, she would be willing (if Mortimer allowed) to experiment on her coworkers
Scout: dies a painful, sad death
The player: Shakes her aggressively
Scout: Doesn't want to explain everything to you.
Also Scout: Explains everything to you.
I kinda hope the studio does some episodes of the show like with those bendy cartoons that come out every now and then.
Or maybe hello puppet comic mini series that could be kind like a what if scout lived and her and the hosts adventures in the real world also maybe do some comic crossovers like what if some of the scout puppets that is assuming all the puppets contain a soul that is part of scouts and not other personalizes end what up in what ever company is doing the mini series main or alternate universes .
Like what if Doctor strange or moon knight found some of the scout puppets or the ventriloquist from batman or a meta human it could make for some interesting stories like scout team up with a mutant who's powers have just awoken and because of this scout gains new abilities as well . The spell would have to be altered so that the puppet comes to live as soon as you put it on of course who said they don't know spell to open portals to other universe just never tried it be for .
That would actually be really cool.
If they did something like the Bendy cartoons, I hope they would get into contact with the creators of Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared to do like teaser skits. That would be amazing.
Of course a mini comic series would be cool too. This game just gave us a hint at the full possible lore and it just feels like wasted energy if we don't get a sequel.
I hope Scout will return. What if she body swapped to another lifeless puppet upon dying? Or her soul is still inside wating to be awoken again? I think that's likely since Riley says she's had two other Hosts before but failed to properly work them.

Was scout actually about to say shit
This is a very informative video that really helps to fill in the blanks that I've drawn in both this play-through and the others I've watched. It helps immensely, but it just fuels more questions I have on the universe it takes place in; questions I feel that can't really be readily answered by our limited exposure to this one game.
Like can puppets move about on their own without the use of a host or animating with a voodoo spell (as perhaps suggested by Scout's discovery of cable before meeting the player)? Why do unmodified puppets need organs like lungs and stomachs when they don't breathe or eat? Why does Scout die so easily from her arm being ripped off while others of her kind ( Organ Anatomy Puppet, Daisy Danger, Mangled Puppets) have clearly survived more strenuous torture and extensive modifications? Why is Scout named as she is? And lastly, if all the choosable puppets, as Mortimer Handee says, are all the same, does that mean any which one the player chooses is destined to become 'Scout' as we know her (as it turns out when playing the game), or is she just one of a number of 'Scouts' designed for a more covert purpose?
while I do realize that this is merely a Horror Comedy and most likely a one-off VR game of it's kind (And most of these questions neither have nor need a direct answer), I absolutely love the concept that the people behind this game have created and would be thrilled to see it's universe expanded upon in a sequel or something else.
I like how the audio tapes work like the ones you can find in BATIM that tell you a lot of important information about that character or what’s going on in the studio
I like how this takes after the numerous puppet shows that are family friendly but straight up creepy looking.

Thank you for playing it. I cant play vr at all since after 5 minutes I get nauseous and a really bad headache so this is one awesome gane idve missed out on otherwise. I do want Scout to survive though. They need to do a 2nd one where you go back in reattach Scout's arm and she comes alive again then both take out the bad puppets for good while freeing the people who are trapped. Itd make for a great game.
"mortimer is more me than I am."
reminds me of this one puppet that has been on TV here since 78. the puppeteer says he sometimes forgets where the voice comes from and puts a mic on the puppet instead of him self before realizing that he just did that. but is it any wonder after 40 years of practically living this puppet on hand.
maybe if you do all the tests in the game perfectly and stay to do the tea party and answer scouts questions in a specific way you could get a better ending?
Yes! I’ve been waiting for this!
A Theory! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
ayo this video has been for 3 years now? i don't have any thing to watch thats why i decided to rewatch some of this vids and the other games you explained but i did not realized that it has been 3 years when you made this thanks for making this kind of content especially for us who can't play the game and because of this we can understand the storyline of the game because we only watch the poeple who play it. (thx again)
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO MAKE MORE VIDS YEESSSS
Hmm maybe the whole host spell failed because scout had different intentions then other puppets
