    Gotta do this to two games. Quick search on you tube. And surprise! The best pinball repair channel on the planet has it covered. Thanks again Ron!

    I added a fuse also back in the 80s but I also paralleled Bridge rectifiers instead of one for each circuit .

    Joe, this is a great video! I have four system 11 games and I remember reading about this fix at Clay Harril's site years ago. Three of my games had the "fix" but an F-14 that I bought not so long ago did not. Thanks for the wake up call. Modification is done.

      Thank you Anthony, I usually think all these mods are overkill but I actually had one catch on fire on me while I was sitting there watching it so you definitely need to do THIS one at least, LOL See you on the next video!

      We're working on some Pennant Fever's right now which are the only System 8 games, and they both have the same problem. Thanks for watching, we'll see you on the next video!

    Was told The issue impacts The system 11 pinball title "Fire" and games made historically "before" this title. game titles made after the release of "Williams fire" should be fused from the factory but check anyway .. a list of the games impacted would be nice . .. you list system 9 and 7 as well "but" I can find issues referenced way back to system 3 games check for fuses installed between the transformer's output and the bridge rectifiers and filter caps on those games as well..

    I have a "High Speed" system 11 machine. I'm going to fuse the 2 bridge rectifiers in my machine as you described. Since the machine is 34 years old it's probably best to go ahead and replace the 2 bridge rectifiers, but not sure what the part number is them. Thanks for posting this video.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před 4 lety +3

      the bridge rectifiers you can just use a modern replacement, something like a 20amp bridge that can do 600 volts or so is dirt cheap! Thanks for watching B L!

      Usually the preventative maintenance stuff like this I've always thought was overstated but um.... this one burnt up right in front of me, so it's definitely necessary!

  • @EsotericArctos

    I am guessing you could use an inline fuse holder as an alternative to the panel mount one.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před 4 lety +3

      Yes that would work perfect... I actually just did another one of these last night, we're working on a Williams Phoenix and I definitely don't want any fire issues on a Phoenix :)

  • @karl-heinzkonigsecker7695

    many thanks from austria for all your videos (i also watch your brother donny). i have a question in europe
    we have 230 volts on the machines - should i also use a 8 amp slow blow fuse or something stronger??

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před 2 lety +1

      Use the same 8amps because it's not on the 230volt side, it's on the output side of the transformer, where your voltages will be the same as ours. Thank you for watching Karl-Heinz Konigsecker!

    I know Pinbot was system 11A... was this fixed by 11B or should I worry about/fix the Black Knight 2000 I just bought?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  Před 5 lety +3

      You don't have to worry about it, they fixed it after they made the game 'Fire!" (Ironically... or maybe not....). Black Knight 2000 came well after that one so it should have fuses installed.
