    Yeah, the badge was intended to look like an RCX brick. 😄 I am super glad you like it and that it was recognizable. It took me a while to settle on a design that flowed seamlessly, and yet represented an RCX well enough.
    And YOOOO - they actually work!! Whaaaaat that’s crazy. Okay, I’m definitely sharing this video with Steven. I think he will get a kick out of it. And just to reconfirm, those bricks were not used at all. They are new from the factory as far as we can determine, and as far as Steven was able to remember. ❤

    Congrats! The 12V rails look like new, even the conductor looks so clean! Love it!

    Just be careful, this 12 volt system gets you hooked very quickly. 😂
    In February, I bought the 7745 on eBay for nostalgic reasons. Now, five months later and 2000 bucks poorer, I am the proud owner of 7710, 7725, 7730, 7735, 7740, 7745, 7755, 7760, 7815, 7819, 7820, 50 feet of track, switches etc. and a few smaller 12V sets. But it's sooo much fun and worth every dollar. 🤣🤣🤣

      Yep 😅, I haven't been able to build many train setups lately but once I do I'm sure I'll get the itch to buy more 😁

      Of course you need to get everything twice so you can have the main and B models built at the same time. And then once you run out of official models there are always recolours. I've built a blue/yellow 7735, a 7810 in 30575 red/white/blue, an Octan 7760, a Blacktron 7740...

      @@sdlgo9 No time like the present to try it 😁, I think you'd be in good company. Now that I think about it I think someone has posted a video or two of yours in there 🤔

    I bought the rubber from the same seller also thanks to Reker :D The work and creativity by Filip is really good. Not sure if I like that you copy of 7735 looks slightly better than mine 🤣

      Filip is going to need to be careful, lest he becomes a full-time vendor for all of us. 😅

    When Gears mentioned his plan on acquiring the RCX units I was floored. And seeing them in your hands, I don’t think there’s a better person than you to have these. Amazing Lego history and truly unique.

    So I too have the rubber bands from the same seller for similar reasons :)
    Absolutely lovely to see all this up and running - it's absolutely fantastic and it makes me really happy to see you have it.

    I missed on the haul video so I stopped the video to go watch it, now, having watched the both videos, what a wholesome moment, and what a lovely community!

      Yep the thumbnail really sucked for that video and it didn't get many views so I made sure to throw that in for anyone who wanted to see the initial reaction

    It’s crazy to think that this was the only 12v cargo train set Lego ever made. They made a bunch of steam and passenger trains sets, and some individual cargo locomotives, but no complete sets.

    • @pastajensen
      @pastajensen Před 22 dny +2

      I assume you mean diesel cargo? As 7730 and 7727 was steam cargo sets.

  •  Před 8 dny +1

    Very nice demo layout... I already had a 7735 and track, but never got around to setting everything up like that (before going 9v/12v hybrid)... And don't have anything remote control in 12v... So somehow still a bit jelly 😊. Very glad to watch your setups, keep up with the inspiration!

    Dang this is so awesome!! I mainly come for the aesthetics and i love the ild school shell tank, everything else you do with the controls and electronics is just pure wizardry 😂

    The problem that the train doesn't stop in time if the two special conductor rails are too close is also mentioned in the official instructions of the signal set 7860. The faster the train goes, the more distant these two special conductor rails must be. And yes, in the original set 7860 (or Service Pack 5085) there is a black arrow triangle on this conductor rail, but not at the end, so the one in the video looks strange.

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  Před 7 dny +2

      The rails in the video were custom made. It was intentional to have the isolation rails all the way at the end to the full train would fit on the siding. I'd have to build a layout on the floor with more room to use it properly

    Alright you've convinced me to join the server :) I have an RCX 1.0 I've always wanted to use, but sadly my dad lost the transmitter so we can't program it... And of course all the 9v wires are shot by now. This may bring me dangerously close to ordering that stuff on Bricklink lol.

    • @BatteryPoweredBricks
      @BatteryPoweredBricks  Před 8 dny +1

      Well the IR towers are cheap and the cables are easy to fix 😁. The USB towers will only work on 32bit operating systems but the serial ones will work with modern PCs
