    I don't have Bluetooth in my DSP.3s, but I do have the Wi-Fi adapter with the URC.3 and I LOVE IT! I have the app on my phone and while it is pretty limited, it works well. The URC.3 is all I need, and the Wi-Fi makes it so easy to tune. The only thing I need to hook up to my laptop is my mic. It was also cheaper than buying the director and the URC.3 was easier for me to locate in the vehicle. I fully understand that director is a better fit for many other applications, but if you're on the fence as to whether you really want the director, I just want to say that the Wi-Fi with the URC.3 is an excellent alternative.

      Nice! Yes the Director is a tough fit in some vehicles as most people will have to do something custom. The Conductor is easier to install and your set up probably just as easy as the Conductor. It’s nice Helix has options. I was kind of hoping they were going to bring out the Audio Stage but it doesn’t look like it’s happening

      As you go up you will have slightly better sound. They have the Helix DSP Ultra S out now which is the highest DSP in the Helix line. The Helix DSP.3S is excellent for the price.

    • @CarAudioHorizons
      @CarAudioHorizons  Pƙed 7 měsĂci +1

      It all depends on your budget and if you’re looking for an all in one DSP/AMP or separate DSP and amps. Then you have to know what you’re going to use for your source unit as some of their DSP’s and DSP/AMP’s only have analog/Aux inputs and one optical input and some have that and a coaxial digital audio input. Me personally wouldn’t buy anything without a coaxial digital audio input as it’s a great option if you’re using a DAP as your source.
      That being said there are so many factors at play, your vehicle and how many channels of audio you need or want.
      Do a lot of research and listen to properly tuned cars at a sound competition like MECA event. Then you will know what you want.
      Car Audio you want to do right the first time as it gets expensive!

    • @CarAudioHorizons

      @CarAudioHorizons  Pƙed měsĂcem

      @@nickz6143 It’s pretty straightforward you download the latest software tool on your laptop and then update your DSP/AMP and then update the Director. Get a hold of MSC I’m sure there is a fix for it.

      @@CarAudioHorizonsI plugged my laptop directly into the v eight amp/dsp and opened the new dsp tool software and nothing happens except it goes into demo mode? If I plug directory into the director I get a message saying it isn’t compatible. If I update the director first I get a message saying it is a non AOC device. If it is an AOC device please plug directly into the device. Hence I plug it into the V Eight and F@ck all happens. This is the most frustrating paperweight I have ever dealt with in car audio. Not worth $2300 Canadian at all for the trouble.

    • @CarAudioHorizons
      @CarAudioHorizons  Pƙed 25 dny

      @nickz6143 I take it you didn’t buy this brand new and you keep calling it a paper weight which is telling me you are making this all up. As common sense says if you bought it brand new you would just call whoever you bought it from and they would take a look at it. As like I said this is pretty basic as step 1. Update to the latest Software Tool on your laptop. Step 2. Plug your laptop into the Helix DSP/AMP and then update it. Step 3. Update the Director.
      It should not be going into Demo mode.

      this is from helix website, thats why it got me wondering if the director shows track info in bluetooth mode
      -The HEC BT HD supports control commands like play/pause, track forward/back, connect, pairing and disconnect of a connected DSP remote control (e.g. CONDUCTOR and DIRECTOR). The DIRECTOR's display also shows you the current artist & title as well as the currently used audio codec.

      Ok I missed the Bluetooth comment, I thought you were talking about in general when using a DAP or Apple CarPlay.
      Yes, apparently one of the last updates that all works. I don’t have the Bluetooth module hooked up in my DSP as I would never use it.
      The only thing I use Bluetooth for is showing track info, artist etc.. when using the SMSL PO100 Pro on my Uconnect Screen and it lets me control volume on my steering wheel controls. I just set my director to the appropriate volume level.
