ROMAN LEGEND! The DUTY plate is quite awesome, please thank Grandma Mudpie for researching the history behind it. 😻
Thank you 😃
Your relationship of Father and Daughter is really inspiring. Merry Christmas!
Bless you, thank you x
Wow, guys! 17,000 subscribers and counting! 🎉LOVE Roman pottery!
Cheers Kellie x
Back to your old footwear ? Irregardless, happy to see you 2. Oh your roundup explains it. Your commercial Josie was without sound. Ty for taking us along
So cool to find Roman pottery, it always amazes me that it’s survived all these years, great adventure 👍
Totally Iain, we're sure those Romans were talking about everyday things and moaning about the weather as they poured wine from these flagons. 😀👍
Friday night treat! 👍😊
Oi oi Joanne 😄 x
Great Roman finds! They still boggle the mind, so old!!
I don’t know if I’d have been able to contain my excitement as well as you two with all that Roman laying around. The bases would be the greatest coasters ever. 👍👍👍👍
We do have to pinch ourselves sometimes to remember that these really are relics from the Roman era. Take care 😀
You both have such pleasant voices.
Roman Legend, bucket list 🪣 find! 😀😃🙂!
😃😃😃
That’s Roman fragments paradise! I would love to learn more about that area, fascinating how so many fragments a cumulate there! Nice seeing you both! Best wishes🪸
When I get up in a.m. and find you’ve post a new video, there’s a process. I must ensure I have my fresh brewed coffee and get comfortable.
Interesting mix of finds you good folks. Would be interesting to hear how the Romans actually spoke. Looking forward to the next one 😀
Thank you for sharing the story of the bed tag. I really hope you are able to reunite with the family. How amazing g would that be!
Roman Legend!!! Wonderful finds.
A lovely lark. You're always up and happy. Quite enjoyable.
the thought of finding bits of Roman pottery is amazing to one living in the USA. i used to think, from watching Time Team, that new Roman finds were rare. mudlarkers dispelled that notion as u find so much just lying in the mud.
Hello Teresa, I know it's quite astonishing to see everyday artifacts from Roman times sitting in the mud. What we did not film was quite how tricky it was getting to this location! Take care 😀
Time Team did not say this, they are looking for settlements and come upon artifacts as they explore.
Second bottle from the left has a super interesting shine to it
I am so in love with the Roman pieces! I will never be able to find any of them even if I wasn't living in the middle of the USA. Although the mud looks like fun to trek in I do know that at my age it would be impossible, it's HARD walking! So keep finding you treasures and I'll keep watching! I enjoy watching so very much! Please be careful and stay safe! ❤❤
Great bottles again. The Roman finds are amazing. Great Video.👍🎄
Fantastic hunt guys! Looked like a squishy one and really enjoyed all of the amazing Roman bits!
Thanks guys, access to this area was a bit hairy!!!! Still nothing like a bit of gnarr to make you feel alive . Hope all is well with you, must be getting cold in the Loch now ❄️
The sloshing sound as you walk through the mud is very relaxing and I wish I was there looking for treasure.
Awesome finds folks. Stay Warm!!!
I hope the family of How will honor and treasure the piece of their ancestors history and service. I hope to see that video when it comes out. Wishing you, Dad, Mama Mudpie and Grandmother Mudpie a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Thank you Mary, the story has taken a remarkable turn just recently when Grandma Mudpie met a lady whilst swimming at her local pool who lives in the village that the How family are originally from....and she thinks she knows of them!!!
Another great episode! Say, would you consider doing an episode on how you cut down & edge-finish damaged bottles to up-cycle them? Methinks it would be very interesting.
Cool finds. Love the new type of Roman. I received my package. Tell mama Mudpie that I love the magnets. Triangles with blue willow pattern, very stylish on my fridge. stay warm
Great hunt! Wonderful finds! Love the history and round ups. Enjoy the crafting when you have it too. Thank you all!
Our pleasure Lisa 😍 x
Roman is my favourite, thank you. Stay warm. It was -49 here two nights ago so I appreciate the chilly.🇨🇦
Whaaaaaaat that is incredibly chilly!!!! ❄️😬
A lot of pottery pieces there that you searched through but it is exciting when you find bigger pieces and handles and think about what they were used for. Always interesting to see what you discover. Thank you both for sharing xxx
Love your adventures in the mud! I miss the days of dump picking when I was a child. These days in the US you can’t find a dump that hasn’t been capped and off limits. Keep up the mud squishing. Kathy
Hello 👋 from New York USA Thank you for Bringing me Along with you Guy's I can't wait to see What you Guy's find next 😀 😊
#RomanLegends - I would absolutely love for y’all to find a full Roman pot, with decoration. Maybe some Samian ware.
Nothing can really top the Roman finds, but the pictorial beer is really nice.
Thank you for sharing your adventure! Y’all be well. Until the next time! 🫡
Cheers JT, we have yet to find a nice piece of Samian, it's on the bucket list! Take care 😀 x
16:12 Aha!!! 😲 It's the old switcheroo!! No wonder you were wearing the old style pattens. You hadn't gotten your new ones yet. 🤔 I get it. You were testing to see if any of us are really watching the whole video, right? 🤣🤣😝 You both are Roman Legends, or maybe that's roamin' legends. 🤣🤣 Great finds and good times. See you next week. 😊🤗💛👍
I see your back using your old mudders 👍👍 great finds and history guys, well found. Take care and thank you for sharing 👍🙏❤️
Roman! So much fun! :)
Always enjoy the videos so much fun and interesting and the finds are amazing
😳 Where are your new mud boots squad!!! Lots of Roman! I'd be in heaven!!! Congrats on all the goodies and Happy Holidays to the family!! ⛄⛄⛄👍
Hello Ray, this was filmed before our new mudders arrived. The seam of Roman pottery was so interesting and rich to find x
Great bits of roman and bottles. Thank you for the history lesson. Can't wait for the next adventure.
Cheers Annie 😃👍
Roman Legend!!!
Great hunt again. Love the soldiers nameplate. MB.
Roman Legend!
00:45 Okay - Josie's rockin' the old-style pattens today. What will Andy be wearing? Stay tuned...😂😁🥰
The original best value mud Patten's x
@17:55, amazing that you can still see the swirl of the potter’s fingers from over 2,000 years ago! 😵💫😀
Yay!! You’re back! You all were missed!!!
LOve you guys, I am so glad you have better mud shoes I sat watching but worrying about you getting really stuck.
Roman legend!👏👏👍🇦🇺
Cheers Carol, still amazed to hold fragments of Roman origin in your hands! 😀👍
Outstanding mudlarking vid, I love the Stout and Beer bots, as well as the Roman finds. I noticed that you were both using your handmade mudlarking footwear, so that was the tip off that it was made awhile ago. Well done to you both. Stay warm and have a nice cuppa!
Cheers James. Yes we explored this site in September but didn't feel we found enough to make a video. However looking back the Roman pottery is lovely and quite different. The access to this area, that we couldn't film was an epic adventure in itself....! Hope all is well with you 😃
Great muddy adventure 🥰 loved the idea of the Roman bases as jewellery dishes ❤️👌🥰 thanks Mudpies
Our pleasure Deb 😍
Cool bottles and of course the Roman pottery. My fave bottle was the embossed one Andy found. ( : Happy Holidays to You and Yours!
I miss the pop ups, should do more. you would make a great arrowhead hunter!
What a contrast from short sleeves on the Medway to Josie in a puffy jacket for the round up!
I always love the Roman and the old bottles (with labels).
The bed plate may have come from a local family. It’s a mystery to unfold.
Here in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 I’ve been appreciating milder temperatures now that I have my snow tires on.🤷♀️
I look forward to seeing you two next week a few days before my birthday 🍀bye for now 👍
Love seeing the roman pottery great video
Thanks buddy 🤩
I love that bed plate and the research you did. Well done. Good vid
Thanks it was such a surprise in the dried up stream bed of a tiny Suffolk village. Quite poignantly the bed plates were also used to mark the coffins for those soldiers that sadly did not make it home. We will keep researching and hopefully pass this plate on to a member of the family. Take care 😀 x
Bed plate hands down my favorite
Amazing finds! I am so Jealous!
I said to myself, Self, this footage was pre new shoes. The Roman Ledgends that you both are brought back the plywood squelch. Thanks for my merch. The Grey Poupon Bennie is a great color and will hide any messy hotdog encounters. The light blue matches the color I have planned for my 1958 Ford pickup truck that I've just started restoring. A red shirt would have match my eyes.... Safe squelching!!!
Hello Brian, we filmed this one a few months ago. It was quite a tricky location to reach! Your Ford pick up sounds so cool! So pleased you like the merch and thanks for your support as always 😃x
Roman kitty! 😂
Film, please, when you incubate a Roman in a bottle. Amazing to see so many Roman finds ---
Wish I was there! My ancestors were from England!!
I like the difference between the Roman pottery you found on this adventure and the ones you usually find. To think that it's been around for so long. Merry Christmas to all the Mudpies!
Hello Rebecca, us too. Also new appreciation for the skill of the potters that made these flagons on a wheel in large numbers. The side walls are really thin. Take care and happy Christmas 🎄 x
Roman legends. Can't wait to hear full analysis of the full Roman amphora you find. 🎉
Roman Jaffa is the best Roman.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you. I have very much enjoyed your larks muddy or otherwise.
Absolutely fantastic, I would love to find so much Roman treasure! I hope you and your family have a great holiday and looking forward to what next year will hold 😊

Thanks and hope your family is doing well , yes the depressing English weather, rem the summer of 2001 ? That one was really nice very little rain as we started our holiday in .....Brighton directly from Gatwick .... I some times find myself larking in all kinds of places hopefully safely.....side of a quiet road a beach any where it is safe to do so......by Squelch Squad , THANKS..

The Rowman pottery is incredible, absolutely amazing! over 2,000 years old. As for history, it don't get any better than that!
I know always blows us away when holding that in our hands 🔥
Love watching your videos

Hello Vic, I know!!! Winter is well and truly upon us. We keep saying though how we will soon hit the longest day 😀 Take care and stay warm 🔥
@@Mudpies Thank you i will..
A very layer out design. Small with each pice what part of a Roman pottery it would be. Your wood working skills you could start your own line of Roman history collected and designed by papa mudpies.
It was amazing to find different styles of Roman pottery today , take care 😀 x
Wonderful finds!❤
I agree withD.
Glad to see you back!
🕺🕺🕺

03:17 Question answered. Dad's also wearing the old style mudders. 😁
Oh yes 😍
Lovely finds,as always!
BTW,I am currently wearing my Mudpies beanie, because I have yet to turn the heat on in my house!
I love it like this, nice and chilly.
I love the time of year when you can see your breath in the air,and cozy down to the years best sleeping temperature!
I will be turning the furnace on in the next day or 2,however.
Hello Charles good to hear you have your beanie on, you legend 😃It's a bit too chilly here at the moment! Take care 😀 x
oyster shooting 😂
lBack burnished ware, has Iron added to terracotta clay, then you find a nice flat stone and you rub the leather hard clay, this seals the clay making it waterproof, no glaze needed, very clever us Romans. My nonna was from Rome, just out side, My dad was born in Anzio, my great grandfather owned most of it, but lost it, gambling, women and drink. Those were the days, what a waste. And of course during the war was bombed.
Was wondering why you had switched back to the mud pans instead of being all fancy with your new mudders. Still love the shards of the Roman pottery!
Cracking as ever, keep up the good work x
Cheers Lisa 😃 x
Roman pottery is definitely on my bucket list. Not a lot here in Colorado, though. It'll have to wait till we retire to the UK in a few years.
It will still be there Shanna 👍😀
Roman legends!
A Roman holiday!!
