    Very good video. Most people would have assumed it was the multi function switch and replaced it. It shows the importance of proper diagnostics and study of the wiring diagram.

      @@robinsonsauto yes sir I am Pumped for more drivability diagnosis and module diagnostics my weaker areas are O2 diagnostics specifically the WIDE BAND diagnostics those are still hard to understand on how to properly diag a wide band problem becuase of the micro currents your supposed to be able to interpret I hope your shop is busy but you still have time for us students of the trade 😄💯

    What part did you use to replace the module? I need a Ford Fusion 2012 and they’re telling me the part is discontinued.

    Very knowledgeable mechanic thank you. I'm going through something similar my washer fluid sprays out the nozzles on its own once I start driving my 2011 Ford Fusion. I've taken the reservoir pump out and ordered a new one hoping that it'll take care of the problem.I went through two jugs of washer fluid in two days that sprayed out while I was driving, talking about a ghost👻 car..

    Right away, from the schematic it looked like the wiper low was getting power from somewhere, most likely from inside the module. My guess was a stray low resistance circuit existed from the battery circuit that when module is not powered up, there arent the other pathways for the potential to bleed off into, so the resistance can be overcome by the full battery power. I still would have done the tests on the two batt pwr wired as you did, just to be sure.

    You know it's a well maintained car when the first messages on the display are oil change required and tpms warnings. You can bet if the wipers only ran with the key on, they'd still be running today. The car isn't haunted, it's neglected and just wants a little attention from someone that cares. You should have given us some bonus footage of the dipstick, tire pressures and tread condition.

    Knock the electric module first.

    • @robinsonsauto
      @robinsonsauto  Před 4 lety

      Yup absolutely. most times just getting the module down will temporarily fix the problem making it hard to demonstrate or capture the root cause, if i wasn't trying to capture the issue for the video i most certainly would have ;) thanks for sharing

      @@robinsonsauto lol. I say this because my family used to own a rebadge Opel built by GM Buick in China around 2000s. One time the window fluid motor was not working and our mechanic just knock it a few times then it work again. He told us, if it's working then live with it.
      GM cars was really solid build at that time. My mother never take the car to service until something went wrong. One time, The car was run with only 2 cylinders for a few month because rats destroy the spark coils. The car still made through more than 10k miles for more than 10 years. It seems like GM quality control is really good in China. I think thats why GM sell much better in China than in US.
      I own a 2007 S60 in US now.
