- Jazz-improvisation on a two-manual continuo-organ. The instrument was created after Jean-Baptiste Micot , it has a Gedackt 8foot on the first, a Regal 16foot on the second manual.
Scotty Böttchers joy of playing and his inspired unselfconsciousness lead to the borders of that organ and get me curious to have more recordings- if a bit more conventional...- done. Many thanks to Frieder Wissmann for the making of the film!
Subtitles for the different parts have been added by myself.

Great to hear also non-classical music on these marvelous instruments!!
Thank you. In this very case I certainly look forward to hearing some 17th century music played on it.
Wow! Remind me to "Tarkus" by Emerson Lake & Palmer
right! very close to Keith's style
The regal lends its itself well to jazz.
A magic Regal and Flue pipes sounding beautifully, even through such alla John Cage unusual improvised phantasy. Marcus Stahl, the Dresdner Master, is a great organ builder of unrivalled quality. This instrument is possibly one of his most achieved works. Thank you also to the highly clever organist, exploiting consecutive varied styles to try the positive response. He displays his talent from early Renaissance Paumann modes to light Stockhausen's and Jazzy Hollywood -like Oriental inventions. There is not a single note failing! The whole instrument resists this hard test.
Beautiful playing, marvelous musical ideas! Some delicate passages realy inspired. Also very good range and choice of timbre and colors.
Improvising at the highest level! this is remarkable!
I like both the instrument and the music. The instrument sings so nicely and the music is inspired by it and grows out of it.
Sounds like music from Final Fantasy or other JRPGS. And that is a compliment!
Einfach unglaublich inspiriert und unkonventionell. Großartig Scotty !!!
I find both music and the instrument marvellous! Thank you!
Only now i can to listen played.
But i have one old photo.
Genial Scotty - Du rockst voll ab !
Wow! I've never heard this sound. I dont know how to name the sound quality but its I credible! Very new to me. And the clarity is gorgeous.
Wonderful instrument. Cool and unusual music. Love it. Go on!
Remind me of FFIX songs... This is soooo cool, love this kind of music! Thanks to share it!
Yes!! Love this!
absolutely fascinating improvisation on an exquisite instrument. The very old meets the truly modern It's very inspiring, although I don't want to be the one who has to write the score to study it. But I will try it some day, at least in parts.
bravo, Maestro. brilliant, expressive, very modern playing

I never thought I'd hear jazz on a continuo organ; it's almost ironic considering the use of figured bass during that period. Screw stopping at jazz portatív...I wonder what a whole jazz baroque orchestra would sound like!
Man just sat down that day and made an entire Zelda soundtrack on the fly
I enjoyed this immensely.

I must say, this was rather interesting to listen to.
Well, I felt reminded of a number of contemporary compositions for organ by Ad Wammes...
Great impro session and a nice treat!
Thanks for posting. In addition to the fine instrument, I also find the music very interesting, and the artists has fantastic technique and expression. Nice to hear something outside the norm for the instrument. I never saw anyone add vibrato by shaking the bellows! A question:
The description says "Gedackt 8foot on the first, a Regal 16foot on the second manual", but there appear to be other stops as well? I see him reaching and changing settings, but I'm not very familiar with these versions of organs, not sure what is all being controlled. Thanks to anyone who can fill me in.
kcutoob. Scotty just is opening and closing a lid that covers the regal. He also works a manual-coupler, which uses both stops at the same time. Thanks for your kind comments!
Love the sound, but the music I want coming out of this instrument is medieval
Музыка для фантастических фильмов
I like the instrument, even the music, is the rec level to high and saturate?
it isn't saturated here, at my end
Ok maybe just on my audio system.
Can the Gedackt and Regal be coupled? Is this instrument foot pumped? Marvelous!
As you can see and listen, it can be coupled. But no, in this case there is no pumping device.
3:13 sounds like a bass printer, if there were such a thing.
fun.... let have that
Amazing instrument! Are regals like this for sale anywhere?
Incredible music on a very interesting instrument! What pieces were those or was It all just improvised? Great job anyway
Yes, it's all improvisation by Andreas Scotty Böttcher from Dresden/Germany. If you are more interested, please look at his site.
Does this performer have any more recordings available? This music is absolutely fascinating.
Oh, yes. Andreas Scotty Böttcher from Dresden, find him on the Internet.
i little like Paul Hindemith

Nice instrument.
Horrible 'music.'
You are welcome!
I agree. Fine instrument, the music is a bad joke.
Right, the instrument is quite valuable but this music is a worthless piece of degenerate trash.
let's have the courage to say it my friends
probably how audiences reacted to beethoven's groß fuge back in the day
