      It could be that the Bourdon has a similar tone to the Libliechgedackt, of which, being translated into english, means "Sweet Covered".

    Wellcome to all, I'm very glad to share with you this video of my homemade pipe organ. I know, my performance and recording are not so good, but i think it's enough to be pleasant. I'm still working on bellows, there is still a little "bouncing sound" and I'm refining the tuning and voicing. Remember to watch also the video 2, the link is at the end of this video.

      +nippocast I've been wanting to make a home made pipe organ, with the actual pipes being made out of either wood or maybe PVC pipe. Where can I go to better understand the mechanics and how to make one per se. I can't find too much information. I wanted it to be small but of course well in tune so at least it's playalble.

    • @nippocast

      +Themostamazinguy Hi, One good source is the ebook: the art of organ building. There are all mechanical parts explained and the scale for the manualboard and pedalboard, with suggestion on how to tune and voice the pipes.

      I'm also planning to get into organ building. I have found very good information here: www.rwgiangiulio.com/ , here: www.die-orgelseite.de/ , and I haven't yet looked much at this site, but it seems good: www.sentex.net/~mwandel/organ/organ.html . Just research, _and think!_ a lot, you will develop an understanding, at least I did.
      I hope your endeavours are fruitful :).

    By chance, the last video I watched was of a "sampled reed organ"---an electronic approximation to the sound of a very simple reed organ, but without the dynamic control afforded by the bellows of a real reed organ. Expensive electronic wizardry of limited life devoted to imitating a simple instrument that can be bought cheaply and maintained in good condition indefinitely.
    Your superb homebuilt pipe-organ offers a total contrast to all that. It looks good, sounds magnificent and will (like a real reed organ) last for ever. It satisfies the eye and ear in a way that no digital sham can ever do. Sincere congratulations!

    • @nippocast
      @nippocast  Před 8 lety +12

      +Adam Štefunko Hi, thanks!
      not all the pipes, I have made from start to finish only the first 12 of the manual and some missing...
      the others are old pipes in very bad conditions (nineteenth century) that I rebuilt.
      the white keys are in flowered maple

    •  Před 8 lety +2

      Yop, I realized that it's quite obvious coz it's pretty hard to make metal pipes.
      I desire to build a small positive organ. First, I thought I would use wooden pipes, but since I have no woodworking skills, nor could I find old pipes which I could use, I found it very challenging. Then I found the Wick's book on organ building, where the whole chapter is about making pipes of paper. So, instead of wood, I started experimenting with paper. I think it's easier to do and cheaper for beginners and the sound isn't that bad. However, I'm not using his design, but two designs I found on the Internet and slightly altered.
      I hope when I get more skills I'll change over to wood.

    • @nippocast
      @nippocast  Před 8 lety +2

      +Adam Štefunko Yes,
      make it... the sound is pretty good.
      I'm Italian and here I haven't found any used or old pipes, so I search on internet and Ifound that the English organ builders sell a lot of cheap old wood pipes.

    Are the pedals coupled to the Manual or are they an individual rank?

      Ciao e grazie!, ho visto il tuo organo, bel lavoro! il ventilatore è un B.O.B. di una ditta specializzata in ventilatori per organo ormai chiusa. L'ho preso usato da un organaro in Inghilterra.
