    This is the best-sounding portative I have heard

      Agreed! Although, wouldn't this technically be a positive? I thought the term "portative" only applied to the tiny single-rank hand-pumped organs of only 2-3 octaves that can be carried while playing.

    Absolutely gorgeous. A lovely timbre which, rather than overwhelming us with brash and crass thunderings, quietly invites us to enter its serene and contemplative sound-world. Thank you so much!

      Well, the Mainstream, if I may say so, expects instruments like that to be much sweeter and calmer, no thundering required, so to speak. And the regal is in real life somehow calmer. Anyway, thanks for your kind comment!

    Ich kann mich Balint Karosi nur anschließen. Die Gemeinde Waldheim und mein Studienkollege kann sich glücklich schätzen. Dem Erbaucher herzliche Glückwünsche zum Instrument!

    Eine Frage: bist du selber auch Orgelbauer ? Ich suche nämlich seit 3 Monaten eine Windlade für meine Orgel

    Bravo! Could you please show us the sordino?

      Thanks. The Regal is covered behind a lid, that can be opened with a mechanism. Unfortunately there are no proper photos available. Next time, I go there, I shall take them. I very much appreciate your comment, knowing your -as they say- distinguished taste!

      @MarcusStahl  Před 4 lety +1

      actually, even Michael Praetorius talks about such lid, when he praises the virtues of a regal or regal-stop.

      @@MarcusStahl I see on your website that this organ is transposable at 415, 430, 440 and 465 Hz. Does that mean every stop has two ranks at approx a quarter tone apart??

    • @MarcusStahl
      @MarcusStahl  Před 4 lety +1

      @@cliveso , not so sure, what you mean with your Question. There is a mechanical device, that gives the main pitches. 430 one achives by putting the mechanics on 440 and Tuning flat with the Tuning-devices.
      The organ has no Cis for 415, because the C can be tuned a semitone lower.
      Does that answer your Questions?
      Best wishes.

      @@MarcusStahl Sort of... but how do the tuning devices make the tuning go flat? A440 and A415 is a semitone apart, so only the keyboard needs to shift. But how does the mechanics achieve A430? Does it somehow change the length of the pipes?
