Was held in that choke for about 10 secs too when the avg time for a man to black out is 6-7 secs. Manâs a different breed
@@YvanTDF Actually it was the other way around: It was Ortega who expended all his energy trying to follow through on the submissions. Thatâs why he looked finished at the end of the round. Had this been in MSG, the doctors wouldâve likely stopped the fight.

Still canât believe how unreal it was being in the arena that night. That 3rd round took the energy for the entire night out of me. If you havenât been to a UFC event, I highly suggest going to a stacked card. Itâll be a night to remember for the rest of your life

It's kind of impressive how honed in Anik is, with all the excitement and commotion that's happening he still manages to be so quick and precise with his commentary.
At 10:45 Felder looks genuinely In awe. We're so lucky to have someone like him representing the sport. A true mixed martial artist. A true legend.

I struggle with announcers who don't have a combat sports background but Anik has really grown on me, dude does a hell of a job and does his research. Happy to hear he's actually been training and might have his first ammy fight.

@Maybe, maybe not. Obviously mma is super complicated but a good play by play in any sport knows his place and leaves the analyzing to the pros. Anik does that. You dont need any belt to know whats happening on the surface level

How the hell did he get out of that choke
He's kicking, working and moving a lot, Both guys are sweaty so the arms and neck slipped, Also Guillotine takes a toll on the arm, Ortega has to let go, plus Ortega is already battered/gassed/pummeled. Its not something you can hold on to for 30 seconds if a guy doesnt tap and obviously awake you have to let go to preserve your strength.
I love it when the commentators forget to do their job and just focus all their energy into watching the fight. They really love being there.

Anik has more restraint than almost any play by play announcer Iâve heard. Sometimes Iâd rather hear him, over the knuckleheads.

I love the moment at 12:12. Freeze it. Daniel's like 'Did you see that Paul!'. Paul's like 'I'm glad I didn't fight this guy'. Anik's like 'Do I still have to talk?'. The guy in the checked shirt is like 'Camera 4 now please'. The guy in the white shirt is like 'I bet a mill!'. And the woman between Felder and Anik with her arms crossed looks like she just hid a voodoo doll and is finishing her ritual.

Anik and DC always in their groove. Love Felder but his timing is always just a bit off, steps on the other guys a bit. A few more years in the chair and he'll be awesome. Great insights tho that only come from a career in the cage.
