Sofirn SP70 is a powerful outdoor flashlight designed for outdoor activities like camping, hiking, fishing or hunting. It can be operated with two 26650 or 18650 (with sleeves) Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. Tail switch powers on / off, side switch controls two mode groups: Group 1 with 6 brightness levels and Group 2 with ramping capability.

Automatic Stepdown: Turbo mode steps down to High mode after 3 minutes of operation to prevent overheating. High mode steps down after 30 minutes of illuminating.
Power Indicator: Turn on the light, the side indicator shows the battery power for 5 seconds. Green is good enough power, orange is half power, red is short of power, flashing red is power running out, please replace or recharge batteries ASAP. In Standby Status, the indicator is Green as locator in the dark.
Operation Instruction:
Half press the tail switch for momentary-on. Fully press tail switch to power on or cut off. When the light is on, the side switch controls all flashlight functions as follows:
Group 1: 6 modes (default group)
Click and hold the side switch to cycle through brightness levels: Eco-Low-Mid-High, release when you find the level you need.
Double-click to activate Turbo mode, one click to return last brightness.
Click to Standby, the main LED turns off but side indicator is green as locator in the dark. Click to turn on the main LED again
In Standby Status
Click and hold to Moon, click goes back to Standby
Double-click to activate Turbo
Four fast clicks to active the lock-out, the main LED blinks twice, the indicator LED turns off. When in lock-out status, only four fast clicks will reactive the light, all other operations only get two blinks
Six fast clicks change from Group 1 to Group 2 or the other way around
Eight fast clicks to active Beacon which light up 0.1s in every 2 seconds
Group 2: Ramping
Click and hold side switch to ramp up or down. Ramping changes direction when the button is being clicked and held again within 1.5 seconds; same direction when ramping again after 1.5 seconds.
The light blinks once time when it reaches Moon or Turbo mode.
Click to go to Standby, another click turns on the light.

Out of the very few vids on this torch you're the only 1 to show us the different settings especially the ramping mode and that was the deciding factor in buying it.

@Tyler Durden NO, infact the ASTROLUX MF01 is cheaper than the D18, a lot brighter, can sustain brightness longer, much more battery capacity...the D18 is just a over hyped flashlight for nothing
Xsauce the Astrolux is a complete different type of flashlight, a flooder. The SP70 is a thrower. And for flooders lumen is very important and for throwers the concentration of the beam is key. And the SP70 is topquality for a moderate price. Astrolux is also decent prices. Thats the one and only thing they have in common.
For the rest: Completely uncompareable. Sorry
love the shoulder strap that's included on this product, i'd have a headlamp and keep this on my shoulder in case i need more light.
I like how they divided the tasks between two switches, nothing so pointless as having to press one button multiple times just to turn it on to a brightness you wanted.

Been around awhile, have seen a number of guys who review, and this guy does the best job of all , great flashlight, and can't imagine what you spent on the Skylumen, and then to get a 60$ buck light that'll compete with it or even do better,Sofirn does a great job, producing well made budget lights that'll perform just as good and in some cases better than the high priced torches...great job ,keep em coming
TN40vn cost me around £500 at the time.
Looked to me like the Skylumen won the throw contest though. But for the cost the SP70 does perform well.

Wish it was waterproof. Thinking of going with the iVict with the CREE-XHP70.2 since it says it is waterproof to 100 meters. I am sure it can't go that deep but it should at least be better than water resistant like this light.

I know its been a while since this review was posted but do you think its still a good time to buy this light, considering it has not been updated in almost 4 years now. The convoy L6 already has the choice of the new XHP 70.3 available which seems more appealing to me. But I like the larger head and the UI of the SP70. Any thoughts?

I used Shockli 5500mAh 26650's and Sony VTC5A for the review. Sony VTC6 will be better for runtimes if going the 18650 route. (Button tops)

Hello Flash'. I know that this is a bit late. However, I had my SP70 out today and I noticed that there is a molded raised "T" on the side button. It's also on the spare that came with the flashlight. Here's the question. Why? I didn't know if you've been ask before or if it means anything at all. I didn't know if somebody like Thrunite or Tacklife, had a load left over.

Not sure, I've not read anything about it.
The letter "T" on the button, stands for "Thorfire". I believe Sofirn used to, or still does, manufacture lights for Thorfire. I own a Thorfire S70s which is a very similar light to the Sofirn SP70 and has the same "T' marked button. I also own the original BLF Q8 which is also branded as a Thorfire and has the "T" marked button as well.

is this not compatible with any semi flat top cells like the EFEST 26650 or the IME? This can replace my imalent R90C as its lighter with enough power. Also reminds me of a Maglite of the past, but with high output.

With the Soshine 5500mAh i cant use the ring, 'cause the light wont turn on.
@@BASSstarlet I have Soshine 4200mAh batteries (26650). Works fine on a 7 LED beast (Trustfire from dx.com)
If these won't work, I have Soshine 3400mAh, another one with same capacity from Intl-Outdoor.com, and some "pink" one about 2000mAh. These are 18650 batteries.
If these will not work, I will need to buy some new ones. Maybe Keeppower, but I will check the 26650 batteries, if I will need to do so.

The light works well with my Soshine batteries, but I guess, I need something with more capacity and current capability.
Yes, im talking that ring, that came with the flashlight.
@@BASSstarlet There were also a flat ring preinstalled in the flashlight. When I change them with each other, the length of the flashlight does not change, I can screw the end back nicely.

Hi, tell me please. Sp70 or BLF Q8. The Most important thing for me is a distance of light beam, but i thinnk that diference beetwen of distance is not to big. I'm so confused what flashlight i need. To take compare: size of flashlight, flood and throw, what do You more preffer???

Higher drain cells. 26650 aren't great for high amp insanity.

18650 run at 3.6v while 26650 run at 3.6v x2 so its 7.2v.

Hello, I got this light and it's great and all. I've had many. But in this case there is a gigantic halo ring in my beam. Anyone else have this issue??
Yea mine has the yellowish ring. Thought it would bother me but out doors it's a complete non issue. Somehow it works great. Only close wall hunting does it really appear strong.
