Rebecca is a passionate Singer-Songwriter/Vocal coach/mentor /impressionist/photographer/creative junkie /self- development lover not a hater.
“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well, maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also, thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self-confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel. - Hudba

For me, I find it interesting how much she enunciates her words. Ariana Grande is really hard to understand sometimes because she just kind of slurs her words together. Miley really pronounces each syllable precisely.
Rebel9009 that’s Ariana’s style now and then sksksks.
Her top five singers all do that. When she was young and singing along to the songs, it's just a style she developed.
@@orlock20 Yeah I don't think it is a bad thing at all. You just can really see the difference in styles between the two singers and it helps make this cover her own as well.
I thought it's just me who felt this.. Thank heavens I'm not alone on this.
with singing, at least in english, you are supposed to over-enunciate so that it sounds normal and if you enunciate normally you lose the consonant sounds everything muddles together

Yes Miley seems so comfortable and happy with her voice, she doesn't try to change it to fit the songs. Her raspiness, "dark" deep sound brings the uniqueness to her songs and any songs she covers. Mark and Miley seem to respect each other so much! :)
Miley always just nails every single cover she does - Jolene, summertime sadness, don’t dream it’s over... etc She makes it her own every single time
Leyre Gorostiaga Aranguren I wish she’d release an album full of covers. Her original material is hit and miss but she usually nails the covers.

Thanks for saying that about females that sing lower. My range is lower and it always seems that, if you're a girl, no one thinks you can sing unless you can hit ridiculously high notes.
Beth Hart and Ann Wilson from Heart are considered great singers and they don't hit those high notes.

@@orlock20 I'm not saying that no female singers with a lower range are considered good singers. I'm saying that female singers who sing higher tend to be favored and viewed as more tallented when that's not the case.
Personally I go gaga when a woman can hit a very low note or can sing consistently in a lower register. Part of it is personal preference (for instance I prefer hearing a cello over a violin), part of it is frustration because you just don't get praised enough from a technical standpoint.
It's come to a point where in pop music even men gets praised for hitting high notes but if they show proficiency in their lower register people are like "whatever".
I love Marina (and the Diamonds) and Emilie Autumn's voices, they can sing in beautiful low rates and I actually find low voices of (female) singers very sexy! Don't worry about others and blow them away with your talent. ❤️
She’s got an amazing range. She sings 4 octaves. I just think now that she is trying to sing more country, she’s using her lower range more.

Sass_King5 she does, she used to even be able to hit f5s. I think smoking and drinking kinda ruined her upper range.
Matthew Joppa It’s possible that damaged it, but as far as I know just getting older can really inhibit your upper range if you’re not naturally a higher singer.
Is it bad I prefer this over the original, inspite the fact that I don't really listen to Miley? This is something she's done beautifully, giving it a more grandeur feel than the original. Also, I've always been a sucker for violins and here, it adds the perfect touch!

what I really love about Miley is you can recognize her voice, she has a unique voice, unlike all the other singers that have the same basic and stationary voice. This is what makes Miley special!
The raspy voice she gets at 4:28 when she sings the word ”now” does something to me. Also i dont ever cry but when the beautiful parts came i was sobbing. A rollercoaster of emotions

It's not 'better' because it's a very different interpretation of the song by a singer who has a very different vocal tone than Ariana. And they're both equally good.

Miley and Adele are hands down my favourite modern female vocalists. There are a lot of other stupendously talented vocalists but there is something so casually worn in and well loved and warm and raw and interesting about those two. Their personalities are big, open, authentic, raw and vulnerable and it comes through in their voices. Like well worn, much loved leather and denim. And just so easy. Watching and listening to both of them, it just sounds like it’s the easiest thing in the world. I find Miley’s tone addictive.

She was covering the version by Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa. The original was done by Bobby Bland in 1959. The Bobby Bland version happens to be my least favorite version of the song mostly because of the instrumentation. Here is a live Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa performance of that song:
