I have to agree with Stephen A Smith on his comment. But when you look at the Chicago 2nd 3peat, Yeah they had MJ, Pippen, and Rodman. Lets not forget that the 80's Lakers had their 3 of Magic, Jabbar, and James Worthy. 80's Celtics had Larry Bird, Kevin Mchale, and Dennis Johnson. 80's Pistons had Isaih Thomas, Joe Dumars, and Bill Lambieer and by the way Dennis Rodman was developing role player turning into a superstar. My point is this if you look at the championship teams in the NBA all of them had their big three with supporting players to be a contender. stop, mike was never on a super team. A great 3 and a specialized 4 doesn't make a super team. the rest of those players never did much of anything in the league. scottie played great while mike was playing baseball, but was riding on the momentum mj created. the bulls were a super team because of mike, don't kid yourselves. 5 all-stars starting for the warriors? good for them, but that's called stacking your team, and they'd still have a hard time beating MJ's Bulls..
MJ scored 63 in the playoffs against Bird's celtics while they were still great, and mike had zero help. he's a killer, that's all there is to it.

I still think that the second three-peat was not a super team. Rodman was a great rebounder and defensive player, but he was onlylimited to that by the time he has in Chicago. On the other hand Horace Grant was not as good as Rodman defensively, still great though, but had pretty awesome offensive skills to compensate. So it seems that the change from Grant to Rodman had the same dividends.
They weren’t a super team, but are considered that way because the work ethic of one guy, which elevated the other guys. The difference between the 1994-1995 Jordan to the 1995-1996 Jordan was amazing!!! He worked very hard to get back in shape, whilst doing a movie, and pummeled the competition with the rest of the Bulls. Not a super team, just a great leader inspiring others to greater heights.

I agree. Look at MLB of NCAAB playoffs. They pull so much viewership because of the uncertainty and the "anything can happen" idea. The NBA is far too predictable and top-heavy that most people just truly don't care about playoff games because they know what will happen. Everyone and their cousin knew it was gonna be the Cavs vs Warriors last year and it just makes for boring playoffs.

1991 -92 NBA MVP finalists were
    1. Michael Jordan
    2. Clyde Drexler
    3. David Robinson
    4. Karl Malone
    5. Patrick Ewing
    Scottie Pippen was 9th.
Now imagine if Jordan after defeating the Portland Trailblazers acquired the likes of the number 2 MVP finalist Clyde Drexler the following year?
That is the definition of a Superteam.
Miami Heat and the Warriors did just that. Bulls were a hell of a team and the best player in the world in MJ.

MJ wasn't on a superstar, Bulls were like the Spurs of Duncan's era or Lakers when they had Shaq & Kobe in prime. Just a really good put together team who has a couple of stars. Warriors & Cavs are stacked from head to toe, they without a doubt are killing competition in the NBA, Warriors more than anybody. Grabbing Durant on a team with the #1 power ranking & the best overall season record in history is overkill.

Mike's not a hypocrite and he has a point. The league is boring with superteams. He had 1 all-star for a freaking 3 peat. And then Dennis for playing defense. That's it. It wasn't a super team. Jordan was Super, because he's the actual GOAT.

  • @rcole718
    @rcole718 Před 6 lety +17

The Bulls were never a superteam. That first threepeat team was homegrown. The second threepeat wasn't even a superteam. Rodman was a huge step down offensively from Horace, and he had a specific role, which was to play D and get boards. That was his role for his career. It's not like Mike went out and tried to get Chuck, or Mailman, or Ewing, or even Shaq to help him dominate the league. The Warriors weren't even a superteam until Durant bitched up and joined them.

An for the record im 35 so I know exactly what went on for all of Mike championship years. I'm just saying if u look at the talent in the league at the time the bulls would have to be considered a super team the year they got Rodman. Do people not remember Tony Kucos was the best player for international waters at that time an Ron Harper was the best on ball defender besides pippen an Mike in the entire world at that time. Where am I wrong

But you know what grindn10101 probably anyone could've had Rodman and given up more that WILL PERDUE to get him back then. He couldn't help that Spurs team get a ring? And they had the best record in the league the year before they traded him. He was a headache and the Bulls & MJ & Pip & Phil utilized his rebounding to become great.......I wouldn't call someone with ZERO offense being added to a team a superteam on paper. Especially by today's standards of how they're being built.
