Whenever I see the words "LeBron" and "GOAT" I feel compelled to look back on his almighty resume:
In 2004 was named Rookie of the Year despite Carmelo Anthony averaging more points, rebounds, blocks, shooting better from FG and 3pt, higher PER, and led his Nuggets to a playoff berth unlike LeBron who wouldn't reach the playoffs until his 3rd season.
Also in 2004, takes home his first bronze medal at the Olympic Games.
In 2006, became the only MVP in NBA history to lose at multiple international events, even losing to a Greece team that was void of one single NBA player enroute to his second consecutive bronze medal (World Championships).
The biggest game of LeBron's career to date came in the 2007 ECF close-out game vs Detroit. He struggled all game long finishing with just 20 points on 25% shooting while rookie bench player Daniel "Boobie" Gibson secured Cleveland the victory with 37 points on 78% shooting to eliminate the Pistons.
LeBron's shooting woes continued into the finals, held to just 22ppg on 36% shooting by 35 year old Bruce Bowen. Despite LeBron's poor form, two of the four games in LeBron's first finals sweep were decided by one possession; three points or less.
2008 - "Hey Kobe, get on TeamUSA dawg, I can't take home a third bronze medal"
2009-2011 LeBron became the first and only MVP in NBA history to be eliminated by lower seeds for THREE consecutive years. '09 the 66-16 Cavs with the 3rd best offence and 4th best defense in the NBA go down to the one all-star 59-23 Magic in the ECF, '10 the 61-21 Cavs go down to the 50-32 Celtics in the 2nd round in which his own GM Dan Gilbert publicly accused him of "quitting on the series" after a double-figure turnover effort in the close-out game, and '11 the "Heatles" lose with home-court advantage to the Mavericks. "The key to this series is, can LeBron stop Jason Terry?" - Magic Johnson.
Also in 2011, LeBron made his 2nd entry into the biggest finals scoring discrepancies of all time. His 17ppg together with his 22ppg from the 2007 finals were both virtually double figures below his season averages both years, and are the biggest discrepancies in the shot-clock era.
2012 - to win his first championship, needed to join forces with two of the other top five picks from his own draft class (Wade and Bosh), two record-holding shooters (M Miller and Battier), hall of fame Manager of Basketball Operations Pat Riley and join a franchise who had won the championship just four years prior to his signing; Miami Heat 2006 champions.
    2013 - thank you Ray!
In 2014 LeBron and his "Heatles" lose by an NBA playoff record 71 point deficit where the average margin of defeat was 14ppg to the oldest starting five in NBA history who they had just beaten the year prior.
2015 LeBron decided to shatter finals missed field goal records by missing an average of 21 shots through the first three games. He would finish shooting under 40% for the 2nd time in his finals career and despite his poor shooting and the absence of Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, the Cavs still manage to take eventual champion Warriors to six games, proving the 2016 finals was the most over-glorified in NBA history with the return of Love and Irving (heavy favorites).
Also 2015 - allowed the 2015 Warriors to become the first team since Jordan's 1991 Bulls to win a championship without any finals experience on their roster.
In 2016 ESPN publish "Final second shots are tough, just ask LeBron James" who show us that since his first attempt in 2006, had shot just 5-for-47 on go-ahead and game-winning field goal attempts up until the conclusion of the 2016 season, a mere 10.6%. For his career, is 0-for-6 under such conditions in the finals, two of which were lay-ups.
2017-18 LeBron watched his direct small forward match-up take home the finals MVP trophy for the 3rd and 4th times; Kawhi Leonard, Andre Iguodala, and Kevin Durant twice consecutively.
Also 2018 - to accompany his world record for a series losing margin, in the 2018 finals LeBron lost the close-out game by NBA record 23 points in which he'd given up by half time and only attempted four shots in the final 30 minutes of the game.
Also 2018 - became one of just three players in NBA history to average more than four turnovers in consecutive seasons.
In 2019 we witnessed LeBron "activate playoff mode early" only to finish 11 wins behind the 8th seed and again proved he can't reach the playoffs without a multiple all-star roster (2004, 2005, 2019).
2020 saw the arrival of Anthony Davis who led the Lakers in points, rebounds, blocks, steals, FG%, FT% and PER enroute to capturing the Disneyland Championship while LeBron became the first wing player in NBA history to shoot below 70% from the FT line in four separate seasons; 2007, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
And a few miscellaneous points of interest:
    - has only ever led his peers in the league in just two statistical categories; a scoring title from 2008 and an assist title from the shortened 2020 season
    - has only won one championship without multiple all-star team mates both averaging above 19ppg on the season (Wade and Bosh with Miami, Love and Irving with Cleveland). The lone championship he won with AD leading the Lakers in almost every statistical category came against a 5th seed who were down two starters in four out of the six games of the series.
    - despite ring-chasing ever since his infamous conference call to Melo and Wade in 2006, still hasn't surpassed the championship tally obtained by his peers 15 years later; is tied with Ginobili and Parker (4) and trails Bryant and Duncan (5); some may also argue Horry (7).
    - is a Ray Allen three pointer and a Kyrie Irving three pointer away from having the same amount of NBA championships as bronze medals.
    - is yet to show he can overcome adversity or win as the underdog, and has lost multiple playoff series as the heavy favorite (all outlined in detail above).
    - holds the NBA record for most finals game losses (33, tied with Jerry West) and is 2nd all time in finals series losses (Jerry West, 8).
    - 1st all time in turnovers committed, holds individual records for turnovers in a finals series, entire playoff run, close-out game, etc.
    - the all-time record for First Team All-Defensive selections is 9 (held by Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant). Lebron is barely half that with five; in direct comparison to MJ who was the 1988 Defensive Player of the Year and only player in NBA history to register above 200 steals and 100 blocks simultaneously in multiple seasons, LeBron's best defensive season he finished with 137 steals and 93 blocks (2009).
    - personal owner of the longest flopping compilation on CZcams.

In my opinion Jordan is the greatest scorer to play basketball an average 30.1 ppg can't be argued with, neither is the fact that mjs 22.9 shot attempts per game is the 2nd most in history. I have him as a top 20 defender of all time although not a great low post defender. However, he's not the greatest player of all time as the media hypes him to be. The myth that MJ makes everybody better around him needs to be put to rest. MJ is a great individual player but his play doesn't boost the play of those around him like Bird or Magic did, the game is a team sport not a one on one game. Now your probably telling yourself how can MJ be overrated if he won 6 rings ? well yeah he won 6 rings but he won those 6 rings in the weakest competitive era of nba basketball. why were the 90s the weakest era in nba history ? expansion teams. from 1989 to 1996 6 new teams were added to the nba that watered down the league to its lowest talent level in history. its no accident that the bulls won 72 games at the height of the expansion league era in 1996,with the grizzlies and raptors checking in that year. If you think those bulls would have won 6 rings and 72 games in the 80s then you need to crack down the pipe and walk away please. For example if you take 23 ounces of whiskey and add 6 ounces of water to it does its strength remain the same ? no, does it get stonger ? No, does it become weaker, like the 90s NBA ? Of course it does. it isnt even that complicated. In 1971 the bucks won 66 games and in 1972 the lakers won 69 games after expansion teams were added. doesnt mean they are great teams, just less competition created by the expansion. During that time only 3 new teams were added. there were players starting for new teams in the 90s what wouldnt have even got a tryout for an 80s team. MJ himself was replaced by a CBA player, Pete Myers in 1994 and the bulls only dropped 2 games worse in the regular season that year. The competition was so bad during mjs last season in 1998, 5 teams in the NBA failed to win 20 or more games. You had:
      Toronto Raptors:16-66
      Denver Nuggets:11-71
      Vancouver Grizzlies:19-63
      Golden State Warriors:19-63
      Los Angeles Clippers:17-65
and we add in the Dallas Mavericks at 20-62, these teams were the worst teams ! The 1980s was a virtual cream of the crop hall of famers, Celtics had Bird Mchale Parish, sixers had Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Darryl Dawkins, Charles Barkley, Mo Cheeks and after they got through beating each other to death, they would have to face a rested Lakers team with Magic and Kareem who are arguably 2 of the top 5 greatest players of all time, on one team +worthy and Micheal Cooper who is one of the best and smartest defenders of all time. the Bulls faced none of this caliber, especially in the east where they cake walked to the finals every year but one with jordan. Let's take a look at the toughest teams MJ had to go through to earn his titles in the east. the 1990s Knicks had one hall of famer Patrick Ewing a great defender but never in the conversation about great offensive centers. that was about it, Ewing had a bunch of role players. Oakley, Rivers, Starks, Mark Jackson, Xavier Mcdaniel, Greg Anthony, Anthony Mason, none of these players are hall of famers. the 1990s Knicks were great on defense but their offense was always near the bottom of the league throughout the 1990s. The 1991 Pistons: that year the Pistons would have gave MJ and his Bulls a fight if Isiah Thomas had not broke his wrist, Thomas missed 32 games during the season and 1 game during the playoffs to do his broken wrist that affected him in the playoffs. During the 1990s the guards of the Celtics, the Pistons, the Lakers were old and injured, also affected by the expansion overtaken by the younger teams. clearly these were not the same caliber teams of the 1980s. the 1991 Celtics started the season 29-5 before Bird and later Mchale went down. was this because the 1991 Celtics were such a great team ? No, this Celtics team would have not competed in the 1980s. they got a 56-26 record despite injuries of Bird and Mchale because expansion teams boosted up their win column. If Bird and Mchale didnt go down with injuries they would have won the 1991 title. the 1991 championship was ripe for the taking because of the expansion teams. The Indiana Pacers: when your best player is a 3 point shooter that plays little defense, you know you aint gonna make much of a dent in the playoffs. Reggie Miller is an outside shooter, a hall of famer, Chris Mullin is also a hall of famer and an outside shooter but not a good defender. you can say this was a cake walk for the Bulls. The Cavs: there were no hall of famers and this was the same Cavs team that lost to the bulls in 1994 without MJ. The Magic: one of the few good teams MJ faced in the east. Shaq was a legit big man, grant was a great inside defender and rebounder, Hardaway was a very good guard before his injuries, they beat the Bulls in 1995. in 1996 Bulls faced the Magic again but this time Bulls had Rodman. Grant was fighting an elbow injury the entire playoffs. the Bulls again caught a break and the Magic are left without their best interior defender and 2nd leading rebounder. unfortunately for the Magic in 1996 Grant was injured in the 1st game and didnt play the remainder of the series. it was Shaq and Penny vs MJ Pippen Rodman, The Bulls won in 1996. Now MJ's competition in the finals: the 1991 Lakers were not even a little bit close to the 1980s Showtime Lakers. no Kareem arguably a top 5 player of all time, a huge presence in the low post, no Micheal Cooper who is considered by many the greatest defender in nba history, in their place there was Sam Perkins a 7 footer that played more behind the 3 point line than he did in the paint and he was a labeled as a soft defender in his career, he flopped and didnt play much defense. an intimidating front line, they were not. despite all this, Magic would have had a chance to beat the Bulls if James Worthy didnt suffer a high sprain ankle against the Blazers, Worthy no longer had quickness or lateral movement for the remainder of the playoffs, the injury affected him throughout the finals, Byron Scott also went down with an injury late in the
finals against the Bulls and couldnt play in game 5, Worthy also missed game 5. so basically it was Bulls vs Magic and Magic put up a good fight than MJ would have put if the roles were reversed.
1992 : Blazers: they had one hall of famer: Clyde Drexler and umm... well yeah thats all they had, not much competition at all. blazers also had no inside presence to speak of, a recurring theme in mjs finals matchups, easy ring for mj.
1993:Pheonix Suns: Barkley is a great hofer but he only had KJ on his team, a decent player but no hofer, again no post defense on the suns. tallest player for them was Tom Chambers 6'10" one of the softest defenders of all time. this isnt even the best team barkley played on, the 1985 and 1986 sixers with Dr J, Malone, Cheeks, and Barkley would have wiped the floor with 1993 Bulls and Suns. 1990s teams sucked, the 1993 Suns may have won 62 games against the expansion league but they would struggle to a .500 record in the 80s.
1996 sonics they had hofer Gary Payton a great defender and good scorer, they also had Shawn Kemp a player that would show up fat and out of shape at summer camps. so the sonics had a good defender and a lazy underachiever. Sonics had no inside defensive presence. MJ is free to cake walk to the basket all series. Sonics won 64 games, but its easy to win that number of games in a chump expansion league, they wouldnt have hit .500 in 1986, can you say "no competition".
1997 Utah Jazz: many jockers point to the finals against the Jazz as evidence the Bulls would have beaten the 1980s teams. well in fact the Jazz did have 2 hall of famers: John Stockton and Karl Malone who are also 2 of the 50 greatest players in nba history. lets compare:we have Malone Stockton of the 1980s vs Malone Stockton of the 1990s, I'll call this one a draw. at the forward position jazz had thurl bailey a 6'11" powerful and quick forward. the 1990s Jazz had Bryon Russell who didnt even average double figures in ppg for his career. Bailey was a better scorer, better low post defender, better rebounder, averages more assists per game than Bryon Russell. Bailey wins hands down. at center the 1980s Jazz had Mark Eaton who is 7'4", the greatest shot blocker in the modern basketball era. Eaton once averaged 5.6 blocks per game in a single season still a record that stands. all time he averages 3.5 blocks per game wich is also a record that still stands today. the 1990s Jazz had Greg Ostertag, or maybe POSTERtag. the 1980s Jazz would have destroyed MJ and his Bulls. why ? because the 1980s Jazz wich mark Eaton in the lineup gave the 1980s Jordan fits. from 1985 to 1993 the Jazz with mark eaton were 9-7 against mjs Bulls. there would be no waltzing into the lane for MJ against Eaton and Bailey like he did to Ostertag and Bryon Russell. the 1987 Jazz took the LA Lakers to 7 games, you think the 1997 Jazz could do that ? the 1980s Jazz would have destroyed the 1990s Jazz. so we see again, a weak inside presence of the Utah Jazz wich gives MJ 2 more easy rings.

@@dynamic6645 In 1991, the Bulls destroyed the Lakers so I don't see what you're talking about there. Lakers at best could have won 2 games that series. And sure Paxson hit the game winner against the Suns but even if they lost that game there would have been a game 7. Chicago beat the Suns the first 2 games at home, they could have still won game 7.
Lebron always needed to stack his teams to win so I don't know why people always regard him as the greatest or second greatest ever. His legacy is nowhere as great as so many of the other greatest to play. His 2 Heat championships are a joke since he had 2 other all stars on the one championship & for the other he had 2 all stars plus the greatest 3 point shooter of all time at that point in time on his team. He also choked bad against the Mavericks which right then automatically never allowed him to be the greatest ever. Than he won against the Warriors due to some bs Draymond Green suspension. Warriors likely would have won in 5 games that series. Than the lame bubble championship was the other one. Jordan's record is almost completely clean in terms of his legacy. The only two knocks I hold against him is that he shouldn't of retired 3 different times & he should have beat the Pistons in 1990. Lebron is one of the greatest individual players of all time but there's way too many things you can hold against him in terms of his legacy for him to ever be the greatest.
