As someone who has worked as a nanny for over 15 years I swear that it is from parents not raising their kids to eat diverse foods. I know sooo many kids who only eat chicken nuggets and cheese pizza.
As someone with autism, it isn’t the parents fault, I can’t help but not eat normal food
Quick tip as someone who can't eat certain things because of mental illness to another: 9.8/10 times, people aren't talking about you, they're talking about people like the dude in this video that are just picky because of stupid reasons, like stubbornness. I can't have most smoothies or shakes cause the textures of them make me feel ill, but when people say dumb shit like "If you are so picky that you won't even try a fruit smoothie, you're immature!" I brush it off, cause its not something I can control, unlike people who just don't wanna try something because they are stubborn and snobbish and think dunkin' donuts counts as a meal. I understand you want to defend yourself, but there's nothing to defend. That's anxiety talking. You're ok. Your diet is only between you and your health professionals if you want it to. Most people are understanding if you have a reason to not eat certain things, and those who don't aren't worth your time. ❤

I think its a really good thought experiment to try and see if he maybe has an underlying issue. Personally, I believe that if he had an underlying issue, the show would have tried to sell that (cause corporations are gross like that). And as another point: we still need to be taking care of ourselves, tolerances/sensitivities aside, which includes a diverse enough diet to sustain us. I think the main point does still stand which is "you can't live off burgers." I'm glad to see you're open to having a nice discussion about this! (I've met too many people who are very rude about these sort of things. I like the exchange of views.)

Its goes without saying he might have one, but I dont think binge eating disorder fits his description as that requires the consumption of thousands of calories in a single sitting whilst the consumer feels out of control and possibly guilty after.
