sure this guy didn't make much effort to explain how to buy these boots

It's a beginner's intro to buying AT boots, so not a lot of detail as that is an entirely different video.

I'm new to touring but didn't find the video to be helpful. Sorry for the feedback :( but hopefully it is beneficial in some way.

No problem Amanda, this is a very basic video as there is a lot more to learn about Touring Boots, this just covers the very basics.

Not sure why I ended up in this video, but I can tell for sure that the gentlemen in the video has no idea what he is talking about and highly likely never did any multi-day ski touring such as haute route. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but don't provide useless information, especially to the beginners. Quick pointers for the beginners: ignore everything he said. When choosing ski boots, remember the basics that you need to investigate - warmth, moisture control, tech binding compatibility, and most importantly, compatibility with crampons (trust me on the crampons compatibility part as this will make it or break it in high alpine tour). Best of luck to everyone.

Hi Andre, pretty sure you are not "in" this video but maybe "at" this video, nonetheless, thanks for your thoughts and feedback. Keep in mind this is aimed at beginners new to the sport who do not have as much experience as you. Rob was gracious enough to spare his time to cover some thoughts on buying AT boots and goes over just the basics as this is not a deep dive as AT boots are a big category with lots of options.

This video doesn't offer a ton.

Hey Kieran, sorry you didn't get much out of the video. It is aimed at people new to ski touring that know little to none about AT boots and what to look for.

    Not useful in any way.

Yeah, it's hard to please some people who apparently already know if all with free video content. Luckily others find real value in it and are positive.
