Importing new graphic assets to the project. Adobe After Effects Course

In this video tutorial, we start with an empty workspace in After Effects. To create our first scene, we either create a layer or import a graphic asset from the PROJECT PANEL. We explore various ways to add and manipulate layers, such as copying from other compositions and adjusting properties like position, scale, rotation, opacity, and anchor point.
We delve into aligning layers using grids and the ALIGN TOOL, explaining the role of the anchor point in layer movements. The tutorial covers navigating the PREVIEW screen, zooming, and improving layer quality by applying the COLLAPSE function. We introduce the concept of adding external elements to the project and demonstrate how to prepare and import a character silhouette using Adobe Illustrator.
The video details adjusting the size, anchor point, and transparency of the imported character, emphasizing organization and structure in the project. The use of TRACK MATTEs is explained, specifically employing the alpha matte function to make the character transparent within the boundaries of a triangle layer. The tutorial concludes with a preview of the designed scene for the first animation part, paving the way for future animation steps.
