For anyone interested in trying out Affinity, they've just announced a six-month free trial. No obligation to buy, no payment details required to sign up: affinity.serif.com/en-gb/trial/
Plus, Davinci Resolve as an alternative for Premiere pro, Audition and After Effects.
We're big DaVinci fans for sure!
I use VEGAS and Reaper, also nice stuff and perpetual licenses available.
For complex animations this is not an alternative to After Effects.
@@markus5064 Do you know of a good alternative to AE? Adobe just doubled my monthly subscription for all apps! I’m definitely switching, but I thought Fusion would be a good alternative.
Krita is another alternative for those that use photoshop as a painting app. Krita also has built-in frame-by-frame animation functionality. And people are raving about their brush engine.
💯
I have both; but I'm largely committed to Adobe. What I would like to see is a tutorial that explains how best to convert my existing Adobe documents to Affinity. I need to do all of this before I pull the plug on Adobe (and save $750 a year!).
Nice idea!
Affinity handled psds pretty well actually
Inkscape is the best 💯 !!!
For the ones that use photoshop for illustration clip studio paint is a great option with way more tools focused on drawing, single time purchase on pc and it's often on sale
Any ideas for swapping adobe bridge?
Very married to adobe but the proposals are very interesting.
Does the change in agreement that anything made in Adobe tools belong to them not a grounds for your divorce?
😂😂😂
Good thing divorce is legal!
@@nnkar1996 The problem is that Serif doesn't provide the tools that Adobe provides so Adobe abuse doesn't mean that we can leave Adobe until some other software actually does provide those same tools.
Affinity is by far the best alternative. It even surpasses Adobe in some respects. Especially how all the apps are integrated. Furthermore, at that low price they have traditionally given you years of free upgrades before you have to purchase a new version.
Everything surpasses Adobe in some respects but Adobe has tons of features that everything else doesn't have. That's the issue for people who really need Adobe.
The fact there’s a video from envato about Adobe direction then I best make that move. Thank you for the recommendation I will look into it.
Can I still use the plugins, and brushes in these programs. If so that would awesome and I would love to change.
Not sure about plugin but Affinity can upload Photoshop brushes although it might not be completely 1 to 1 due to slightly different brush options.
Very helpful! I'm broke so I currently use Pixlr, but Affinity looks like my next investment
Great options 👏
I have to disagree on one thing, the brush engine. For whatever reason, the brush made in photoshop needs a lot of tweaks, more often than not. And also, I can control the size of a brush with pressure, OR angle, OR tilt OR velocity etc... but I can only choose one of those parameters. Not two, not all, just one.
But don't get me wrong, we can still do digital painting with it, i'm still surprised why we can't have that flexibility. Also, a good alternative for would be Clip Studio for digital painting, it supports .abr files really well
IMO affinity is pretty cool but it's very difficult to learn. Ive been struggling bad. And it also has performance issues, it crahses on my pc almost everytime and i allocate like, 10-12GB RAM to it
Has nobody used Gimp?? Free, open source and very powerful...
Agree! Wanted to shine a light on a browser-based option in Photopea, but GIMP is another great Photoshop alternative.
Where's Kittl at?!?
Where's Kittl? Hope Kittl makes the list next time.
How could go over Adobe alternatives and not mention gimp???? If you go to their website, they literally even mention inkscape and scribus as other tools most people use in their work flow
Nice alternatives. Although all the industry needs to start using these softwares.
I tried the Affinity Photo. It's very, very different tool than Photoshop. You need lots of time to get used to it as everything is kinda messed up and more complicated but with determination, you can actually make a switch if you want. The cancellation fees weren't necessarily and very dam move from Adobe. 🤷♀
Thanks for sharing-that's good to hear your experience. No switch is going to to be seamless, are you still using Affinity Photo or have you gone back to Photoshop?
I just stick with non-cloud 2020 Adobe, keep installer on an external.
How about KITTL? Yall really need to check us out!!! Best software out there, especially for one-click Text on a Circle!!! 😁👍🏼😎🥰🥰🥰
I use Kittl. Have you tried Kittl? Kittl is a wonderful online software, its free to sign up and has leveled subscriptions. The text transformations drew me in at first but it is my go to software. Add Kittl to your tool box. ( maybe this comment won't disappear)
Is audacity the best audio editing?
Audacity is a good option, but we're big fans of Reaper for audio. See Dave's Reaper tutorial to get a taste of what Reaper is like: czcams.com/video/XRAYqWFeYR0/video.html
🙂
Finally someone who doesn't mention Gimp ...
I'm surprised you didn't mention Figma
I like Figma, but they may have excluded it from their list since Adobe purchased it in December of last year.
I my opinion; Ligma is way better
If you have Adobe drive installed it's going to mess up your computer on the Windows operating system. Every time you try to unzip a zip file it closes file explorer. Once you remove the Adobe drive part in the install it goes away.
I have been using CorelDraw Suite - cheaper and very powerful. It may not have everrrrrything Adobe has but there is nothing better and easier at vector based design software
Coreldraw Suite costs the same as Illustrator subscription. Corel has done something to make the perpetual license a terrible deal. If you have version 2023, it won't even attempt to open anything made in version 2024. People using Coreldraw tend to to be working with other people, clients, and companies so as soon as they upgrade, you can't even attempt to open their files, and you also can't upgrade you copy of Coreldraw suite. You have to buy the entire thing all over again at full price! As Corel marched towards subscription, they made the perpetual license a worse and worse option so that you will not choose it. When they made it so that it can't even attempt to open a newer file, that's when I knew there was no point in even considering it anymore.
I think Affinity suite is the better option for Adobe!
Prices aside, would you also consider Corel as an alternative when it comes to professional raster / vector / dtp works?
I love the Affinity suite, but I wonder if that's really the best complete alternative, since so many features are still missing there.
Anyone here with some experience as a pro with Corel? Cheers
Good question-any Corel users want to weight in?
Works great for vector.
Corel is definitely a more realistic alternative for Illustrator, but Photopaint is a antique.
Make one Video for the Video Editing Alternatives as well.
Where is GIMP 🦡🖌️
adobe are not suitable for sensitive contents, for all clients with private content you can’t use photoshop anymore. this is a big limitation in professional works.
Nice 🙂
Often printers will charge a design fee to convert and tidy up Affinity Designer or any other non Adobe design tool, even if your work is saved as pdf. All they really do is open it in AI then save a native AI file. If you want to end Adobe's abuse of its monopoly position, talk to your printer and get them to change their policies!
If you're using Affinity software, then you definitely need to check a pdf file in Adobe software before sending to a printer. There are many things that do not work out right and you don't want to trouble the print shop and waste time.

Gimp?
GIMP is a great call, would definitely be #7 on the list. A great Photoshop alternative.
@@envatotuts i have gimp cause it's free, but are there any strong differences with those softwares you listed?
Unfortunately can't leave adobe been using almost 10yrs+ 😢
here ‘26’ years with adobe photoshop, after 20 hours of learning now I’m quite fast with photo 2 too. just change habits!
Using Adobe since 1998, pulled the plug 2 weeks ago and I can say I did the right thing
"can't" ???
I've been with Adobe since the late 90's, but also with Serif since the early 2000's I can't leave because Serif's software doesn't have the features that Adobe software has that I need.
PhotoLine , VivaDesigner...
Adobe CC cost one day of work per year - if it's too expensive, you're not a professional :-p
If you're happy continuing to support RENTING software, forever, you're not wise.
A program/price of a program doesn't deterimine a persons status in their field, you can still be a professional and want to save money or move over to another program if that's whats best for them
Adobe CC costs between 6 to 12 months of work per year here in Indonesia depending on where you live. I guess they’re all dilettantes here then (since they have to eat and pay bills) that just happen to churn out amazingly professional looking graphic design and art with free or non-subscription alternatives. The size of one’s wallet/ bank account does not determine how talented/ creative/ professional one is.
Yeah student doesn't pay well 😂
@@LV4EVR in germany you dont get a job with only Affinity skills, also i need a few tools for animation without a nearly good alternative. Better to support renting software as to earn less money :-p
