I think it depends on the will of the character to survive. While others died fairly easily, characters like Aguni survived fatal injuries. Their injuries are connected to their will to survive I think.

when we say realistic, we mean we want them to not survive a literally pointblank spray to the torso and still be alive after fking 10h at the queen of hearts game. From sun up to sun down how tf was she still alive, along with kuina stabbed MULTIPLE TIMES and Anne shot twice in different spots and not attended to. They should be dead by now. I can understand surviving a few shots and fighting on and the fight being superhuman like and unrealistic but you can't just make them bullet sponges it ruins the whole idea that if you get shot you get killed which they've instilled in literally any other scene
@Luna the Pug 루나 🌸 not dreams, it looks like. from what I read from the manga and few other sources, Borderland was some place similar to the concept of "limbo". a place between life and death. hence the name "border". all the characters shown in the series was dying from meteorite impact incident. limbo was usually visualize as bridge, river, or garden where souls walk across peacefully. in this series, the limbo was a survival game

I really thought Akane wouldn't survived because she was shot several times. Kuina was stabbed like 7 times, Ann was shot 3 times. Usagi was stabbed 3 times. And yet Akane crawled to get to Aguni and declined her stay in Borderland.
Kuina unbelievably didn't lost blood after coughing a lot of blood. Ann literally died for a minute but Kuina managed to declined for her and held her hand.
In the last episode, I was searching for Ann, there she was, shed a tear and opened her eyes. I was thinking if she remembers everything or her last scene with Kuina in Borderland. Because her eyes tells it all.
I just couldn't get enough with this series.

@@Dreamer10888 I think there are. It'd usually marketing that tells us there's no stuntmen. But it's also true some stunts were performed by the actors themselves. Usually drops to floors, crashing etc you'd see the stuntmen do the job but tuck their faces inward and cut to a continued shot of the actor.
One of the best fight scenes ever....most Hollywood fight scenes are a joke compared to this.....
People saying that characters surviving certain injuries is unrealistic don’t seem to understand the story. The events of borderland are mirroring the fallout of the meteor strike. In borderland, we see Usagi get stabbed several times in the leg; but in reality, the meteor shards injure her legs, and Arisu helps her walk in the hospital as a result.
The reason these characters don’t die is because their will to survive in the real world is pulling them through. Ann appears to die after the gunshot wounds, but we see doctors resuscitate her. So while doctors are reviving some people from grave wounds, they are surviving the borderland version of those wounds as a result.
Any of the fodder people who die from one gunshot are people who were likely killed on impact, or seconds after impact, from the meteor strike.

If it was in real life and not in borderland they would be dead . Seeing this fight i can tell they were outclassed in everything by this guy. The only advantage they had and they used it as best as they could were their superiority in numbers

In real life we all like to think of ourselves as the main character and that if we ever got into these conflicts we'd just backflip over the enemies head and roundhouse him to the jaw but in reality we'd get absolutely annihilated by a special forces soldier in under 2 seconds. I was watching this scene thinking "finally no plot armour, just a ex forces messing up a bunch of normal civilians"

I love how every character's abilities are portrayed in this scene. Kuina and Aguni fight skills, Usagi hiking skills, Akane archer skills and Ann being a badass with the gun.
Ann was a police forensic shes good with shooting guns prolly got some combat skills but was nerfed

Our main characters having ridiculous plot armor up to this episode made this scene so devastating. Whoever choreographed and performed the fight were amazing. Those punches looked so real.

Something small that made this scene much more intense for me.. the fact that there's no dialogue, no corny lines before something happens. Just the painful screams of people trying their best against a common enemy.
I've been in street fights, of course without guns and knives but.. you lose your breath, and can't talk, just think about hurting the other guy, your moves are also desperated.. there is no time for kung fu or stuff like that.
This looks very realistic, even it is a show.
This was the same in Bourne fight scenes thats why it worked so well, or the Winter Soldier vs Steve Rogers highway scene

This is them fighting in “Borderland”, a sort of purgatory, in order to survive in the real world, while in the hospital. The ones who die didn’t have the will to survive, while those fighting to hang on in borderlands are the ones fighting in real life in their hospital bed. So, people survive completely unrealistic wounds and injuries as it is not actually happening to them, it’s just their mental struggle as they try to hold on in real life.
I’m glad Ann survived! My heart stopped at the moment when I thought she died. The final battle against the King of Spade was everything and beyond my expectation.
My only wish was I wish Karube were there and be one among the survivors. Karube would be a great addition to the team.
Imo, Usagi and Arisu’s relationship wouldn’t have been built if any of Arisu’s friends were still alive

Knowing Chishiya, he would only hide in a corner to watch and not really get involved in the fight. He isn't the strongest fighter out of all of them. Him being there wouldn't have been been much help. After all, his greatest skill is being observant, analytic and manipulating people, lol. Maybe he would have been able to come up with a fight plan by observing and watching in a corner. 😂Chishiya also had the other bomb he made. He could have got close to the King while the others distract him and bomb him.

I love how those who went bare hand against the King of Spade, has spade as their speciality (Usagi, Aguni, Kuina and Heiya), and how they didn't even stop fighting until a freaking bullet went inside their skull. Spade Speciality might be all about psychical strength but it also represents the strong mind that won't stop fighting even if their guts are cut open.
This scene deserves an Oscar, the raw emotions were so real,this is how one would scream if stabbed in real life,the desperation to live,the support for each other.

I was left speechless after I've seen this scene. It was really brutal. But it all made sense by the end of the story. Not saying much. Definitively one of the best shows on Netflix. I wonder if there will be an adaptation for the "Alice in Borderland ~ Retry" story arc.
I have a feeling there might be a season 3 where they might incorporate retry as it ends with joker.

This battle was so brutal.. The fighting choreography and the action is top tier, really puts into perspective how much they worked on this new season, It's kinda a shame the shock of them dying goes away after they leave borderland, im happy they all got out though..

well, if they stayed dead, it wouldn't make sense for the concept of "Borderland". As long as you have the strongest inner will to live, no matter the reason/purpose, you will come back to life. And we ALL know that they all had very powerful reasons to keep living on. The message is that you should live on for others and yourself and to enjoy every moments you have.
I actually liked the strong implication that willpower keeps you alive in Borderland. Makes sense, cause none of this is physically happening, so one guy can die from cutting off a hand and bleeding out while the arrow girl survived a magazine being emptied into her point blank

This will go down as one of the most intense fight scenes in TV history, killing off almost every major character in one go.
The way my mouth dropped when Heiya and Ann got shot like I still couldn’t processed it.. and then when Kuina and Usagi fought him with bare hands while being repeatedly stabbed, I literally sobbed like I never have before. Their comradeship really shone through, such a powerful scene!
This scene makes me feel like losing hope. The king of spades was just too hard to beat. Aguni was the mvp for this scene🧡

Shed one liter of tears in this scene. Seeing these brave characters getting hurt like this and fighting for their lives this hard was so devastating to watch. I know it follows the manga, but I also love how they did not shy away from showing the brutality in this scene. Kudos to the director and the whole team behind this, you all did an amazing job making this scene impactful as it is. I have never experienced such a wide range of emotions from a single scene: anger, desperation, hope, sadness, amusement(when an intense fight shifts to Arisu , whom I love and I know he was the key setting up the plan) , but that scene was a great addition between an intense and brutal fight and cracked me up. Like he was holding five aerosols spraying them so hard and getting a hard time to breath lol, that was just hilarious) . Truly one of the most powerful episodes in the entire show. The moment when Aguni gasps and Akane gets shot multiple times and the whole scene goes silent made this 1000x times better, fights looked so amazingly shot and make it look so real. Can't express how much I love this show. True masterpiece
fyi this is one of the game that does not follow the original story of the manga. it was supposed to be only Aguni, Akane, and Dodo (doesnt exist in the LA) vs King of Spades. it also has a lot of philosophy dialogue from the King which makes his character and his reasoning much more interesting and very meaningful.
Wow this was a manga, i hope they make an anime version to watch how dramatic it would look.

I think in this part we have to consider that she had the will to survive. She just wouldn't accept death. Unlike Tatta who helped his friends but he never really fought through, he sacrificed himself just like Arisu's friends (even tho they didn't have a chance in that unfair game). Let's not forget that Ann actually died in Borderland but Kuina held her hand and declined to stay in that world, that's why they revived her in real life. When we come to think that most games are based on morals, betrayal, relationships, the value of life, logic etc they're all being tested. It's something bigger than the physical death itself.

Epic Fight, Epic Coreography, Epic Climax! The emoticional bound that they create between every character envolved in this fight and the viewers just makes the scene more intense and crazy that it already is! A masterpiece my friends!

It's crazy, chaotic, and has tension in the entire scene. Everyone throwing everything they have at him, and it doesn't work. Everyone is dying one by one, and the situation feels uncontrollable. It's the most dire scene, in my opinion, in the entire show. It truly feels like the king of spades is unstoppable.
The way my heart was breaking in this scene. This scene alone should win ALL the awards. The tension and buildup to this moment was just incredible.

King of spades vs players is one most best brutal fights I’ve seen damn they did a good job I love the other players join in the fight aswell.
King of Spade's physical strength is immersive. He could carry thousands of ammos which more than enough to kill hundreds of his targets, various firearms to adapt in every single situations, bulletproof vest which is extremely heavy and dihydrating. Simply a monster.

This scene brought me to tears; knowing the reason to live of each characters. I really want them to survive and go back to our world. At the end of the series, im just so glad, i really am.

Kuina getting stabbed hit me the hardest.. Like so hard with so many different emotions like damn. During all this I was still trying to get a grip on the arrow girl getting M16'd in half and Ann getting killed. Then Kuina getting stabbed repeatedly during such an intense moment. This is was shot so amazingly well. I watch alot of entertainment but that was Thee most intense scene i've have seen in a longgg time.

This scene hits so hard. We've seen these characters go through games and slowly become accustomed to them or witnessed their struggles. To the point where they've learned to adapt and overcome. But then the King Of Spades comes along and slowly manages to overcome each and every one of them. That struggle for survival, the desire to protect their friends but also the desire to live is so raw. Especially when we see that a lot of them considered their former lives to be undesirable and even wondered if it was worth it to escape. But they all found their own reasons to want to leave. Their own things they wanted to protect. Right when they've all decided to live, they get pushed to the brink in this seemingly impossible situation. And THAT, is powerful.
this scene got us all hooked without skipping for even a second. the choreography was lit. the emotions and the tense feelings were hyper realistic. this series is worth watching. incredible work everyone. hats off. season 3 aahh I'm waiting...❤🔥
This season was AMAZING! I LOVED this season ❤ 😍 omg I was scared, worried, concerned, happy, tearful. Just ALOT of emotions this season ran though me. Just wow! This season needs a AWARD! Honestly this action scene sequence is one of the best in my history of movie watching. It was also so emotional to watch, I cried watching them got beaten up so bad. Even better than a lot of popular movie I saw. No words to explain but I do know it took a lot of work and time. I believe the actors do the stunts all by themself. This was crazy. The stabbing was just brutal. I cried like a baby when It showed Akane finally dragging herself to be by Aguni’s side and he put his arm around her 😢😢 totally unrealistic that she could have survived being split in half by bullets but it was just a beautiful moment in the show. ❤

This scene was one of the most emotional/badass in the show, everyone is trying to protect eachother with everything they've got. I love how this show didn't portay the women as weak ppl that needed saving. You can see that everyone had a diff fighting style which was realistic. Aguni was ex. military and it showed , Kuina's martial arts are also showed in her fighting, Usagi had no training and you can also see that in her punches and attacks but she still tried to get an ex. Mil off Kuina so he would stop stabbing her. Everyone there was brave and cared for eachother. Yes it had some unrealistic moments like shots not hitting where they're supposed to and ppl surviving big damage but that's explained in the end.This show was rlly something else and deserves many awards. I want to hope that S3 will have a more detailed explanation and will continue to be as interesting and thrilling.👏

I appreciated even the small details of this fight scene. From the time the music stopped and you could feel the desperation of everyone fighting for there lives, to the part where Akane was still holding on to that rifle for dear life even after being shot multiple times to protect Aguni. The actors and directors took such good care of this scene, that it made me both thankful and emotional... And I don't usually get emotional watching movies.
