    Deep in the heart of Jakarta's slums lies an impenetrable safe house for the world's most dangerous killers and gangsters. Until now, the rundown apartment block has been considered untouchable. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness and silence, an elite swat team is tasked with raiding the safe house in order to take down the notorious drug lord that runs it. But when a chance encounter with a spotter blows their cover and news of their assault reaches the drug lord, they find themselves stranded on the 6th floor with no way out. The unit must fight their way through the city's worst to survive their mission.

    for those wondering, the reason someone would grab someone who's been knocked down & drag them back to their feet is bc they don't know / aren't good at ground fighting. it's a separate skill & if you're outclassed you shouldn't do it bc you can get reversed, pinned bc you don't know how to reverse or escape it & then get your shit fucked up
    it also negates any advantage you might have from being taller; it's harder to reverse or attack someone when you're on top of someone who's shorter bc their center of gravity is lower
    if you wanna see an example of this, they do get him down and then both try to grapple him at the same time at 2:13 & he defeats them both at the same time -- because he knows how to reverse his way out of it & they aren't good enough at ground grappling to understand the reversals he uses to see them coming & defend against them (there are a limited number of them & all of them are counterable -- the same as attacking someone you've got pinned actually) & a limited number of counters to the reversals
    unlike standing combat it's a lot more determined how many moves & countermoves you know, and how much more punishment you can take than your opponent before you run out of the ability to actually perform or defend against the reversals; standing you have to exert the effort to move your hand to punch, on the ground you have to physically move your opponents entire body while you resist it, and unlike standing throws you can't use momentum or trip your opponent to get above them

      Undisputed 2 has different cinematography compared to Undisputed 3 (2010) and Undisputed 4 (2016). If you look at it, Undisputed 2 (2006) has more cut between fight scenes compared to Undisputed 3 and 4.
      It is because Undisputed 2 DID NOT get influenced by Gareth Evans's directing style, at least not yet. It was Isaac Florentine's original directing style.

Even some recent Chinese "martial arts" films are now plagued with those cuts that only serve to hide the director's incompetence and the poor physical shape of actors.

    It took both brothers a piece of object and to break his arms and legs to defeat Maddog. That is one dangerous villain.

      Honestly it enhances the badassery of Mad Dog, even more after watching the Raid 2 cuz in there Rama (aka Iko) is a bloody murder machine with no one to truly match him. Even the multiple assassins which where supposed to be the top of their industry got absolutely rolled by Rama with no real effort. It always felt like he was on top. Here instead feels like he got lucky.

    • @CataStudies
      @CataStudies Před 3 lety +2

      @@jrewing1512 By mute guy you mean the assassin? The only one I remember being mute was the Hammer girl. Anyway the fight at the end Rama still held the upper hand till the Assassin managed to get the drop on him by pulling out knives. Even then Rama once he got a knive of his own regained momentum and with some effort managed to kill the dude. Mad dog gave the feeling he dominated even with some struggle and only lost his momentum when he was severely bleeding out.

    • @cipley
      @cipley Před 2 lety

      @@CataStudies To be fair tho, the experience being in a busted apartment raid and going to enemy HQ on a hunt is different; in Raid 1, Rama had multiple fight to the death scenario (ambush shootout escape, machete gang (in which he jumped multiple stories down), drug lab, before the final boss fight - all in one day - took a huge toll on his body by the time he went up against Mad Dog. Arguably, Mad Dog was at his best (his fight against Jaka counted as a warm up imo lmao) while both Rama and Andi were exhausted.
      While in Raid 2, Rama's fights were in several skirmishes and spanned in longer timespans. Even in the final string of fights in one day, he had some time to recuperate and regain his composure (Taxi ambush, -intermission-, Bangun's office, car chase, -intermission-, final restaurant fights) so I'd say while he was more experienced in Raid 2, he was also better conditioned in his fights. I think that explains why he looked more ruthless in Raid 2.
      Not taking anything from Mad Dog. His character was undoubtedly badass. Even Raid 2 Rama will still have difficulties soloing him; that guy's durability is off the charts.
