I didn’t think it was working, then i kept trying and to my surprise it actually worked! I am on xbox and can confirm it works, it does glitch and only gives you one sometimes and keeps the water in the portal but it does work! Thanks james

Does it still work as an actual portal block that lets you go to the nether though?
@@nickr7950 Yes! You can use it in the overworld and in the nether! But beware when you use it in the end... It will either put you at your respawnpoint, or will teleport you a very high distance upward (30,000 blocks or something like that) if you dont have any respawnpoint. And it will put you into an adventure mode kind of thing when you use it with a set respawn point from a bed or respawn anchor. You will need to rejoin your world and everything should be ok.

the design works, but i had to adjust it a bit for it to work for me, i ended up ditching the original observer position and put it inside the clock itself. Thanks mate, sub earned

Thanks for discovering this trick. I can get it to work on realms with any shovel, anywhere on the snowblock, on the first dig every time. But the water dispenser doesn't suck up the water so I have to reset it for each portal block.

I just built this farm on my realm, definitely the best portal block farm yet! I used up 3 unbreaking III flint and steels, and got a little over 9 stacks of portals, thanks for making this video!

The one farm may not be working because of chunk borders, but I don't really know. That intro gave me a good laugh though!

I’m struggling with the nether portal block though; haven’t managed to make any of the methods work yet to date. I’ve just dismantled the large older one and will try making 4 or 5 close to one another but really struggling to get this block.

100% you gotta get the right angle :) just tried it on the switch and moved around a bit. Try looking at the top left corner of the block of snow while standing directly next to the obsidian on the left side of the portal! That’s about where I’m standing and looking
@@Konigsmask bingo. Got there with it. Stuck it next to a laggy light up crust as tree and had a play around until that satisfying crack of success.
I will say it did the thing where the dispenser didn’t pick the water back up but that’s a minor issue at best.

I found having the portal centered on a chunk boundary caused the rates to increase by a lot. This is why his first farm worked better than his second.
Where would the chunk border be located?
Is it exactly on the portal itself?

This is really cool
As of April 24 2021 on version 1.16.220 this still works. I use a max silk touch Eff5 netherite shovel and aim at an angle toward the middle of the lower right obsidian block. I replaced the snow with gravel. I also placed the portal on the edge of a chunk border and the mechanical parts on the adjacent border. To find a chunk border in survival place a row of leaves(obtained with shears or silk touch) about 30-40 blocks long. Go to video settings and flip the “fancy leaves” toggle. Then place any block at the end of the row. Walk down the row until you see a difference in the leaves. Thats your chunk border.
@Game and Watch is Dumb I can still place them down and use them unless there is any block updates nearby. When placed in the End and used it causes a ghosting glitch. Basically you become a spectator at you last bed until you re-log.

If you want more consistency, try going about 1,000 block from spawn.

This works for those of you wondering i just did it first try you just need a good spot
The problem with the second build was probably because it was in two different chunks which can cause glitchy stuff in redstone
I also think this problem is because of the chunks
still works, just gotta find the right spot and set it up in the different areas and use different shovels
I saw that the second machine you made had two buttons that made the water go towards the snow block which might change the consistency of getting portal blocks

Bows are see through now, are located at the wrong spot in the new bedrock 1.16.280 something, I think it is a viable bug, also thank you for the portal bug.

I tried this in my world and it still works
a redstone lever, and a piece of water.
I'm trying to get this to work (on PS4) but the piston retracts, the water comes out then the water never gets picked up and then nothing happens.
Edit: okay I got it to work but what I did was block off the front 2 bottom blocks infront of the portal so water did not spill everywhere, and what I did was flip the lever and mine the snow block as fast as possible. I would change around the delay on the repeaters to get the timing right.

Seems like the water bucket dispenser clock is broken. I use the same water bucket dispense clock for my overworld gold farm and it is also broken at the moment

in the seed: 1183880262
On coordinates 970 12 - 578 a nether portal generated and broke the bedrock this one's new it's different from the old ones.

This worked on my Realm. Only problem was that after the portal block was broken, the water bucket dispenser would not refill the water bucket and I had to manually pick up the water in another bucket and replace the empty bucket in the dispenser every single time.

I need help. The flint and steel keeps lighting the snow block on fire and it doesn't work. I'm on 1.17 so that might be it but idk.
Yea same and I placed it down at the bottom and didn’t work still
This still works but the only down side is that once the portal block drops the water stays dispensed so you have to grab the water bucket again and refill it and put it back in.

I stand in front of the block then I look close to the block line on the top then break
So it’s working for me as of today on bedrock edition, Xbox one. However every time I break a snow block and it bugs into a portal block, the system breaks. The bucket of water remains dispensed and the portal can’t be lit anymore. So I have to take out the bucket, pick up the water, and place it down every time I collect a portal block. Is this normal? Or am I just missing a simple step 😭

Build up 30 block than go to 6 block put a piston and put a button on top the then put a block in fort of the poston then put a rail and minecaft and push be sure there are no block under you.
