More BUDGET AIR INTAKE ideas - CHEAP INDUCTION - MX5 & Combo

I update the budget MX5 air intake I fitted last year to an even cheaper and cleaner looking mushroom filter set up.
I then fit the spare K&N filter to the Combo van and get more turbo whoosh!

That pipe from the bottom of airbox is indeed a drain off as you thought,
Volvo v50's have similar pipe work for there sun roof drain off

Nice job mate. I rotated my maf sensor 90 degrees down so the wire was pointing downwards and you couldn't see it then tucked the wires and zip tied them together so you couldn't see any of them and looked a bit cleaner.

Any chance you’d have a link to the exact size k&N you fitted on the combo? Struggling to find the same size as yours and really eager to get one ordered👍🏻

Keep an eye on your temperature and fuel economy because I think that will just suck in hot air from the engine and actually decrease performance and you should have left the air intake pipe on pointing at the filter.

It's all good so far, I have the vented and lifted bonnet now so there is a lot more air flow coming in to the engine bay.

Did you notice any difference between swapping the filter/sides on the MX5?

There’s no noticeable difference to me, but I much prefer how contained and simple it is, the previous set up had a lot of jubilee clips.

I have a corsa d 1.3 75bhp and I’ve bought a air filter and none of the adaptors fit

You’ll need to take some measurements and buy a reducer hose/pipe that will fit.
