Clearly Europe didn't get the meaning of the song nor the staging. All the apparently "random" items that you see on the stage are common things we all have in our houses... and all the different fruits represent the diverse European countries (with their people, cultures and traditions)... we're all different fruits grown from the same tree, and this tree is called Europe. It was a peace anthem, and no one received the message.

    • @candidshadowcollections6670
      @candidshadowcollections6670 Před 8 lety +9

+intersezioni I fear italy would fare much better if they were more international, and that means everything, from writing legibly and competently in english to earning once more the international credibility and reputation the country deserves.Us italians, we throw the world "culture" around very often, and I read even more often how Others, be it europe, the US, the South of italy, or whoever the subject of the conversation happens to be are lacking in that department, or don't understand the level we are presenting. And that's just bullshit. We, as a country and population, have disintegrated our credibility. We present ourselves poorly--did you see Rai1's coverage tonight??If we want juries and people to truly appreciate our culture, it's time we get off our high horses, and start racing the rest of the world with the same racecars they've been lapping us with for decades.

+intersezioni you can't put all the people from one country into one pot. That's what you just did with your statement about culture. It was a highly diverse song with a strong message which unfortunately many people didn't understand and appreciate enough. But to say that one country has the better culture than the other is pure egocentric IMHO.

Yet it was the worst Italian result after Emma Marrone's, since Italy's comeback... I just can't explain myself, I find it such a beautiful song! Maybe better than other italian entries that scored much more. She didn't sing that good because she was young (she sings much better today) and got emotional. And maybe the staging was misunderstood

So underrated. I really don't understand why she didn't win or, at least, why she wasn't in the top 5. Francesca is young, powerful, genuine. Her song has got a very beautiful and deep meaning and a positive message - 'we all are equal'. Italy sends beautiful songs and talented singers every year and all their songs are sung in Italian! Few countries sing in their own language! I don't understand Eurovision, it's becoming so trashy! Italy deserves more attention, guys!

For those who know this bilingual version of this song, but don't know the Italian language, here is the italian lyrics translated into English (the English verses written especially for this bilingual version will be in square parentheses [ ] ):
Nessun grado di separazione (No degree of separation)
It's the first time it happens to me
Before I locked myself in a box
Always a little distant from the things of life
Because I had never felt it so deeply
And then I felt an emotion light up fast
And make its way into my chest without turning off its voice
And no longer feeling tension, just life inside of me
    No degree of separation
    No hesitation whatsoever
There is no longer any division
    Between us
We are only one direction in this universe, which moves
There is no degree of separation
I gave less space to the heart and more to the mind
    Always one step back
    And the soul on alert
And I was looking at the world from a door
    That was never fully open
    And not up close
And no, there is no hesitation
    Finally inside of me
[ There is no degree of separation
There is no degree of hesitation
There is no degree of space between us
    Live in love
    We are stars aligned together
    Dancing through the sky
    We are shining ]
    No division
    No degree of separation
    In this universe, which moves
And then I felt an emotion light up fast
And make its way into my chest without turning off its voice
