2015 was the absolute testament to the fact that Sweden can send whatever watered down cookie cutter pop crap into Eurovision, and the juries will always reward them handsomely for that. Who even remembers their winning song from this year anymore?

This was the most undeserved win for Sweden. Idk why they’re so overrated.. Even this year. It’s actually very rare when the public vote weighs more than the Jurys vote and that’s sad.

They did not have to "persuade" anybody, nor the jury or the audience. Their level was too high. Not just the classicaly trained voices. But the song, the energy, the youthfulness, the charm, their presence on stage. The perfect combination of classic and contemporary, given with so much simplicity, and tenderness. They SHOULD have won.
Only weakness is the posh vibes, but they are of absolute highest quality like anything Italia sends. I liked more experimental songs that year: 4 Loïc and 6 Aminata.

Billy Zambidis Some countries' languages are just extremely difficult to listen to song-wise. I believe English is the best language to sing in because more people understand it and voting will be fair, not just to whichever song was easiest to listen to.

pankouk1 I know I'm pretty biased because I'm Norwegian, but I think the Scandinavian languages are pretty nice to listen to. We've won 2 times with songs in Norwegian (1984 I think, and 1995)
I'm here after Loreen winning. The only thing that cheers me up is knowing that we will for sure remember Käärijä like we remember Il Volo or other amazing underrated artists that didn't win the contest but won people's hearts

When I heard their representation, I had no doubt with idea that Italy will be on the first place. Just wow! The best song ever in Eurovision didn't win! I'm shocked! Italy diserved the first place for their perfect show, voices, song and for originality. I think one reason for their failure is the order, Italy was the last to perform. They have too many standard voting alliances, but I think Swden would win anyway but by a narrower margin with Italy second. Sweden had a pretty good song (though Italy was the best) but overall Sweden had the best on scene performance so I can accept it as the winning performance but the winning song was Italy as well.

They released new album and played lots of gigs. From February till April they did almost 40 concerts around US, so they're definitely very popular over there. After that they went to Central and South America to perform there and now they're back in Europe for another few gigs.

They won the public vote by a mile. However, Sweden and Russia got enough votes from the juries to beat them overall. God knows why. The juries are supposed to vote on vocal performance and neither Sweden nor Russia could compare to Italy for that. The only other country whose singer came close vocally was Australia.
I still don't understand why they didn't win. They were amazing, the song was amazing. The music, the lyrics, this unbelievable energy that runs through my body every time I hear it.

Italy should have won this year, no question. BUT I did get tickets for the grand final in Stockholm the following year, which was the best ever final. Plus it gave me the chance to travel from London to Stockholm by train (3 days) which I had always wanted to do. So a silver lining…… looking forward to Rome? Next year COVID allowing.
It actually shocked me that this came 3rd place. It’s a really strong performance and one of my favourite songs from Italy. Even last year, Italy was the runner up.

Il Volo not winning eurovision is a crime and is enough reason to kick out the """professional""" juries. 366 points from the televoting with only 40 countries participating is incredible.

They released new album and played lots of gigs. From February till April they did almost 40 concerts around US, so they're definitely very popular over there. After that they went to Central and South America to perform there and now they're back in Europe for another few gigs.

They won the public vote by a mile. However, Sweden and Russia got enough votes from the juries to beat them overall. God knows why. The juries are supposed to vote on vocal performance and neither Sweden nor Russia could compare to Italy for that. The only other country whose singer came close vocally was Australia.

Italy should have won this year, no question. BUT I did get tickets for the grand final in Stockholm the following year, which was the best ever final. Plus it gave me the chance to travel from London to Stockholm by train (3 days) which I had always wanted to do. So a silver lining…… looking forward to Rome? Next year COVID allowing.
