  • Well we finally did it. We 've walked past this climb for years, saving it until the day that we thought it was possible to achieve an onsight. Maybe the best climb at Millstone Quarry in the Peak District, this is Regent Street E2 5c 3 stars.
    A small crack climb, leads to a technical crux past a jamming block. Further crack climbing until the roof is reached. Then a tricky traverse to a good ledge. Finish up the excellent final crack on finger jams to the finish.

    Great video, and lovely to see a climbing video where the climber doesn't look as though he's got every move wired. The outcome was unknown while watching this one. Good job!

    Great video, great effort, nice to see (and hear) “everyday” climbers pushing themselves and giving it everything.... thought when I heard the ambulance in the background that was a bad omen 😂

    At 2:50 all that chalk left on the holds, no wonder these routes become so polished.

    • @EndlessClimbing
      @EndlessClimbing  Před 5 lety +2

      Yeah this route is super popular, but is holding up well to the traffic. Not sure polish is directly related to the chalk, although it could be used as an indicator of traffic on the route. Myself and dean had an observation. Most polish seems to be on the bottom section of climbs. We think this could be because climbing shoes hold grit from the floor and this acts like sand paper on the first few holds. Just a theory.

    How this doesn't have thousands of views I don't understand..maybe people want to onsight the route first? :)
    Let's see The Rasp next?!

    • @EndlessClimbing
      @EndlessClimbing  Před 5 lety +1

      Ha ha, Next video is close to being finished. Not the Rasp but a good one. The Rasp is super hard to record as it is very overhanging and it is difficult to get the cameras to stay put on the wall. We will do it though.

    Haha classic British bumbling style, touch and go on final crack
    Would help to have helmet, double ropes, losing 3kg of redundant rack and moving faster in the harder bits.

    You should do Jermyn Street next. It traverses the rail on the lip of the cave, and there’s one hardish move to pull round the lip, but you get jugs, then it’s all over.

    I said this before but you're climbing WAY too close to your limit to not wear a helmet. You could easily have flipped if you had fallen at the beginning of that final crack. Also, best route at Millstone has got to be either London Wall or Technical Master.

    • @EndlessClimbing
      @EndlessClimbing  Před 5 lety

      London wall might get my vote but we've not touched it. Leaving it for the on sight. Might need to get a helmet, to mount a camera. 😜
