Received my copy the other day. I'll probably check it out this weekend. This is one of my favorite movies, and I'm glad to hear this is a nice upgrade from the subpar blu-ray.

Are you going to be reviewing Halloween 4K? I gave it a watch last night and in the first 20mins or so there was a faint flickering in the darker/night scenes. I've read other reviews and seen forms where people are having the same issue. I believe its a fault in the transfer. Other than that though its a fantastic transfer, detail is outstanding. My TV is a LG OLED B7A and I'm using a Cambridge Audio CXUHD. TV has been properly calibrated and I've never had this issue before. Also tried the disc on my Samsung led 4K and had the same thing happen.
Yes you are right. The flickering that we see i feel may be because of heavy grain thar becomes more prevalent in the darker scenes.
Watching now cause of the awesome Steelbook just announced will pick this up haven't seen this movie in years
in germany we have only a 37€ 4k mediabook version without english atmos sound, I try to get the UK version.

Yes, because you don't have to use all available channels, and if a receiver can do Atmos then it's going to be a bit better quality all round than something more basic. Go for one which can power at least 7 channels (for 5.1.2 or 7.1), though as your comment is a year old you've probably already chosen something!

audio is definitely a 9. The chainsaw scene scared the s##t out of me.

I wouldn't buy older movies to watch it in 4K it's not worth it because they all have film grain the newer movies, not all look sharper and better in 4K because of the advanced technology to film it in ultra HD that they have to make the movie better when transferring it to 4K
