Word on the street is it was the tambourine man from The Brian Jonestown Massacre
@@basedsouljah BJM was the opening band so it's likely true.
Joel , the tambourine player, knocked on the door of their bus and offered them a bit of what he called “the most righteous crystal meth ever”, but Liam? said “nah, we do coke” , but later a girl that hung out w the BJM ended up on their bus w a bag of the same stuff. Instead of doing a pinkie bump as recommended, they started cutting out rails like it was cocaine! The oasis guys said , at one point, that they thought it was cocaine but that’s BS, they were warned , they knew. Kudos to them for putting on this performance, they were chewing their jaws off and out of their minds , but they showed up and rocked like pros.
Liam singing with a lot of anger, love the echo/reverb they added to his vocal
Are you joking ?
They had been up all night and everyone was out of time
Singing with a lot of anger ??? Is he fuck ! You’re mistaking passion for anger - which renders your comment as ‘Utter bollocks’.
Every little helps...😬
It was shite!!
Liam didn’t even need to try, his voice is just there. Even considering he didn’t wear in ears and he was high... incredible. He just had it
Amphetamine's generally increase executive function.
The 'high' comes from an increased production of phenethylamine in the dorsal stratum.
Phenethylamine is a trace amine that serves as a neuromodulator of behaviour, memory, planning, motivation, and cognitive endurance. Albeit the beneficial effects of amphetamine dose dependent (with lower doses of base amphetamine, not meth, producing the most optimal effects on cognition) I'm not surprised that Liam could still sing well on meth

Nah, they've shaped up over the years. Seen em a few times fairly recently, and they were spectacular. Of course Anton talked a little shit, and stopped a song midway to fix one of the guitar players' tone, but they jumped right back into the extended jam section without missing a beat. Definitely see them if you ever get the chance.
@@danielhoff7485 yeah I was there for that too. If its the gig I'm thinking of, Anton jumped into the crowd to kick someone out for throwing something up at him. Turned out the guy was throwing beads. Probably trying to toss them up to a anton but it got taken the wrong way and escalated quickly 😅

I think one of the reasons Oasis was destined for greatness was just how great they played live, here they are out of their mind and still playing and sounding great.
Liam’s voice from 93-95 was just unbelievable… and then afterwards was still good for a while
Late 1997 it was all downhill
One of my fav performances of all time. Whiskey A Go Go is absolutely biblical and fun. I love how Noel's backing tracks are so raw and not very strong and in contrast his guitar is roaring like thunder. Set is amazing of course its Def, Maybe set. I wish Married with Children was full because that song turns into something else when electrifed.
And my fav part is they do RNRStar twice. Oasis might look normal band but they rarely do live mistakes, bad performances, yes, but mistakes are so little when you think how many shows they did.
Thanks for uploading. Meth gig is absolutely celestial
It's been the same amount of time between the release of I am the Walrus (1967) and this show as between this show and today. 27 years.
the walrus analogy from alice in wonderland has never been more relevant than today, the one who sells the oysters short of their future and convinces them to prepare their own fiesting.
Thanks dick
Which is why they loved the Beatles, and now we love Oasis.
That’s fucking crazy
🤯That is crazy!!
Before I saw this it was made out to be a disaster but it absolutely rocks they sound incredible
They sound absolutely amazing. They were in their prime here. Tony mccarrol the drummer got shafted. In the video where they Bury him and lay his drums to rest on top of his grave is actually highly disgusting behaviour. He was the original drummer who played on there debut album and was an integral part of there coming up into stardom. I think it was a case of bullying and immature by the brothers. I still love them but douchebag move in that video for supersonic I think it was
@@matthewjdouglas6471 Tony sounds ace I agree he is holding it bang on together
I thought the same. The band make it out as if it was a complete shit show but they sound incredible here. Columbia sounds massive!

Fucking great. Liam's got a mean, raw snarl to his voice I haven't heard before. More punk than rock n roll and I like it. They should have done more concerts on meth.
Agreed. It's got a bit of edge to it which I always thought they lacked
@@2richants I think it's how he naturally sings, but often the snarl is kind of buried in the mix in the albums. There's a rough mix of Rock 'n' Roll Star and Columbia, they remind me a bit of his vocals here.

Good stuff. My roommate was at this show in the front row. We are currently picking apart the footage like the Zapruder Super8 footage.
I'm not surprised at all they sound so good. Noel drilled these songs seven nights a week for years before they started touring. They could play them in their sleep.
im gunna be the one who says it, they band wasnt having an off night. NOEL was having an off night. Noel was the problem this night
The problem was they were on meth lmao
This is why we can't have nice things like more Oasis records. You sir are a part of the problem.
I had to cut out most of Married With Children to upload it. The label filed a copyright claim. Sorry about the skip in it.
you should upload to actual full version to Vimeo or something, they have way less strict rules and copyright stuff, mostly because it's paid attention to less by record labels
Just a suggestion, but you could maybe do a google drive share link of the whole video and make it the pinned post :)
Does that mean Noel's trying to erase all trace of that song being played live?!
First time in Cali and greeted with glasstina and tweakavelli . Where does Noel confess this it. Crystal had barely made it to the east in 94. It was still crank. The uk had never experienced it , killer footage dude. Appreciate it
Blur and Oasis....The US should have embraced them more. Then again, we did get to see them in better, and smaller venues than the crowds in Britain did.
I saw oasis for free in a tent in Preston 😋

His vocals were so great here, especially on Rock n Roll star. Faster pace than the album version and still on point, they're all operating like a machine. I also think the brutal vocal inflection he has here gives a punk rock feel to everything. Almost makes me wish the album version was more punk.
