    I've been out of airsoft for a little over 10 years and I'm dipping my toes in the water again. Since you've been working on guns so long I'd be interested in a video on your take on how brands/manufacturers and general airsoft technology have changed over the years.

    absolutly love the simple tame dsg. took mine threw its paces with gear and motor combinations and finally fel in love wiht ~20:1 on 30-35k. gets 40-50 rps and stays pretty darn reliable.

    • @cuajocuajocuajo
      @cuajocuajocuajo Před 2 lety +1

      how do you get 50 rps with a 20:1 gear ratio? you should get a theoretical max of 30 rps (35000 rev/min) : (20 rev/round) : 60 (min/s) = 29.167 round/s ????

    • @tipzy7730
      @tipzy7730 Před 2 lety +1

      sorry, guess its a bit closer to 18:1 then i thought? im using a 9t zci bevel 16:1 shs spur and 9t seigetec dsg. so im only guessing the ratio. and with my Tienly 35k im hittin 42ish at max rps.

    • @tipzy7730
      @tipzy7730 Před 2 lety +1

      and i believe you are not accounting for the f act it is a DUAL SECTOR GEAR (DSG) so you double that rps then minus spring resistance.. even staill at 20:1 with good shimming and sum ezo's 40's is possible

    • @cuajocuajocuajo
      @cuajocuajocuajo Před 2 lety

      @@tipzy7730 Then what you are describing would be close to 10:1 since the slower 9T bevel would cancel with the 16:1 spur, and the 9:1 DSG which would have theoretical max of ~58-60 rps, though with a ~ M140-M150 spring i would doubt the motor will reach 35000 rpm under such load. Good luck though.

      @@cuajocuajocuajo ok, im not shure if there is something being lost in translation here . but ill try and keep it simple for ya just because im a bit tipzy. i think u got the bevel part right, yes 9t as aposed to the shs 10t slows it down a bit while offering lots more str. spur yes 16:1 but its a 9t dsg as aposed to 8t, not shure what seigetek uses as ratio, but it meshes well with 16:1 and 18:1 shs spurs and the extra tooth pulls the spring back more, not 9:1 ratio. and believe it or not its pulling a m170 spring like butter, tienly rates the 35k to pull i think up to m220 iirc.check my ch for a vid. im running a 50/100c 3000mah lipo which gives the tienly a bit of pep. it also fits in an eps with a bit of dremmel work. but also pulls with a standard airsoft 15c 2500 lion, a bit slower but still snappy asf.,

  • @tovyaweissberg47
    @tovyaweissberg47 Před 2 lety +1

    If using smaller lipos & no plan on going with battery pouch or stubby stock could totally go with a zci 9 tooth bevel and 22 TPA motor. Still extremely Snappy but should be pulling around 12-14 amps auto. I understand this is a budget krytac DSG which is exactly how I started mine. The krytac Nautilus v2's really are amazing for a budget DSG build. 👏

    How does maintaining weight on a piston (with using the washers for aoe) help with joule output?

    Assuming an SP150 is equivalent to an M160 spring, this gun with an SSG instead would give about 530 fps. As this build does about 320 fps (which is 0.6 * 530) is it safe to assume that swapping the sector gear for a DSG would generally decrease the power output to about 60 %?
    Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm getting something wrong.

    • @TheAirsoftTech
      @TheAirsoftTech  Před 2 lety

      You have to take in to account barrel length.
      But I’d say, generally speaking, you’re correct

    Why is airsoft so far behind many other hobbies from a technology stand point from you perspective?
    The drone/quad control tech is amazing.
    The RC car/truck hasn’t used deans in years (xt60) but airsoft is just now getting up to speed.

    Have you ever tried to/thought to make an SR15 (with the long cylinder) into a DSG? More teeth on the DSG of course, but it may allow the gun to be used on outdoor courses with normal FPS.
    The thought came because I can't use my DSG on outside courses without being completely outranged.

    I'm doing a similar build with my krytac pdw. I went with a gate aster this time. What kind of fps can I expect with a m170 spring? Also using a 22 tpa motor.

  • @XeviousGG

    You said it was rubber washers, I don't fully understand the concept of how you correct AOE at the piston. What does that mean exactly? Does that correction position the gearbox a certain way? I watched one of your videos on shimming and AOE but idk the piston thing confuses me.

    • @logicairsoftus
      @logicairsoftus Před 2 lety

      Adding a washer or shim where your piston and piston head meet will push the piston and the rack backwards because of the space. So your able to correct AOE in that sense

    Definitely going to save this video for later use, I have a Krytac PDW-M and when it's time to upgrade (only had it a couple months and still just enjoying it stock for now), This video will come in handy. one Question I have is I'm currently running a Titan Power 7.4v 3000mah PEQ style battery, would you recommend something different? Thanx in advance for this!
