Great video! It is important for people to realize the BTE method is a give and give back system, One way I get my basil fix in winter is to make up pesto and then freeze it in ice cube trays - when frozen I put them in a ziploc bag and then add to sauces as needed.

Patara - thank you so much for this update! I started gardening for the 1st time this year (raised beds) and am trying back to eden/ruth stout for next year. I've already laid out a bunch of woodchips and leaves, and I've started keeping kitchen compost items (grounds, veggie scraps, egg shells etc). I only have 800 sq ft (a vast increase over the 72 sq ft of raised beds I had last year) and have studied square foot gardening so I can maximize the space I have. I'm totally borrowing your cattle panel idea for trellising - but I would LOVE to see an aerial shot of your garden. Do you have one? Thank you so much for your all your back to eden videos - I love them!

She has a sis named Georgina. They are the "George" sisters because they are always so curious (like Curious George!) whenever we work close to their coop. I also have 2 Guineas named Fugg & Ugg....the "Lee" sisters. They are really ugly, but they're still my babies. ;-)

but let the eggs dry first, I just keep them in a tin foil pie plate until I Have a plate full of egg shells, then I leave them in the oven when I am preheating it to bake something. Then crush them and either feed them to your chickens like that just throw them out on the ground in their pen, or put them through the food processor and powder them and add it to your garden in some compost tea.
