Finally a review that isn’t of the rubicon trim level gladiator 👍
I like that you freely admit to being biased towards the vehicle. Not every purchase has to be rational. Nice work.
Ribbed for its pleasure! Literally, laughed out loud. Good review, Sam. Thanks for the upload, sir! 😉
I like your vehicle reviews and commentary. I was looking forward to getting your take on this one and in particular, how you felt it handled and rode thru desert washboards. Really good to hear it soaks up that sort of terrain. Believe I'll be bringing one of these beasts home to my driveway soon. Take care my friend.
Thank you for reviewing what the normal folks are going to buy. The Sport.
Exactly!
Hey! I been waiting for this! Especially from you Sam!! 👍👍👍 I test drove one, sailed over railroad tracks and bumps. We can tell you like it👍👍👍 We like your candor!!👍😂😂
Great review as usual! I do wish you would go back to your old scoring system with stars, but nonetheless you do the best reviews IMHO. Thanks and enjoy your future new Jeep. 🚙
I like it, would love it if it came as a regular cab with a 6 foot bed, like that sexy blue prototype, anyone see it online?
I just picked up a Sport 2 weeks ago. Absolutely love it! 2.5in lift with 35s just got put on today
Nice honest review. Can’t wait for the diesel version. Almost pulled the trigger on the ZR2. Thanks again.
Great review Sam!
Loved the review! I also love where you filmed this segment. Growing up here, I’ve always loved this area, especially Queen Valley and the Usery mountains up near Salt River and Saguaro Lake. Great job, Sam. BTW, love the sexual innuendos:). Cute shorts too.
Awesome review! Can't wait to get one in the next 10 years when it's in my budget! 😃
I just got mine this year ... LOVE IT!
Bought my Sport S two weeks ago with max tow in Gator green. Threw some Falken Wildpeak A/T 33s on and am infatuated with this damn thing. I yep, I did throw an AK47 and a case of mags in that underseat storage. Best review I have see. Well done, sir.
Awesome review 👍🏾
Good review.. good job.
Your review is the best one. I've seen almost all of them. No BS! straight talk... Just what's needed. I'm also waiting for the ecodiesel. As a GM service manager I love it!
Man this review was a breath of fresh air. Talking about keeping a rifle in the back, saying the word crap, shooting in queen valley and not LA or some other shit hole. This was great! Like a normal guy giving an honest review.
Great review, thanks... :)
Im keeping an eye on this...because i heard they may using these underpinnings for the new Ram Dakota "mid size" pickup
Be nice, though the solid front axle might not be there.
FCA actually using resources for a new product...amazing. It's a nice option for Jeep ppl; but a bit tougher for those outside the circle. Too bad it's priced like a Jeep and a truck. I know it's a lifestyle vehicle, still a lot of coin for something coming out of toledo.
Nothing wrong with loving a Jeep!!!
I feel the same about mine! I just got it. Are those the all terrain tires, or the all season on that sport?
Nice to see the sport model instead of the rubicon $$$
Im buying one there awesome and very fun and useable.
Soooo you liked it? Kidding. I’m really happy with my JL Rubi. Looking forward to diesel gladiator.
I about pissed myself twice! We are a two JK family so I get it. I have a '18 Recon 6spd and she has a '17 Winter 5spd. I like the interior of the JLs but prefer the exterior of the JKs. Good video.
Sam, Jeep dealers in our area are discounting gladiators by 3 or 4 thousand. An example, very well equipped Gladiator Overland with leather nav, etc, 48,000. They are not selling here for some reason, maybe the price idk.
... Classic overprice and offer discount to give appearances of a 'deal'... Plus 1k-1.5k off a 44k sticker isn't much when you look at the whole picture.
@@K03sport I agree 1k to 5 k isn't much of a discount for a 48,000 vehicle, but I thought they would be asking a premium because of demand. So far, at least in our area Gladiators are sitting on the dealer lots, some since they were first delivered....I'm very surprised. I want to trade my Wrangler for a Gladiator and now I'm just watching what happens.
F P - Where do you live? I’m in California. Maybe I can buy in your state and just ship it over. I mean.. if I’m saving over 10 grand, might be worth it.
Hey my good friends!!!
I just tried to option a TRD Pro like a gladiator....(you can’t fully) and I’m at $48, 300. The Toyota dash is still old school, needs an update. And you can’t take the doors and top off. I know the rubi gladiator is a lot. The overland is more than enough for anyone and maybe still more capable than the TRD and cheaper than the rubicon. And you can option a Sport well and be wayyyy cheaper than the rubicon. Fully option a mid size truck and see what happens. Everything will give you sticker shock nowadays so but what you like. But don’t give an obscure apples to oranges comparison.
My Ram 1500 Harvest with a 1" lift, 2 extra skid plates, Kevlar E rated off road tires, over 10,000lbs towing, similar payload, 3.92 limited slip rear, 8.4 inch Uconnect with Nav and hot spot, heated power folding mirrors, power seat, spray in factory bedliner, led lighted bed, power sliding rear glass with defrost, factory side steps, and tow package was $36,000 new. No way in hell I'd pay this much for a Gladiator.
Nice review. First one I’ve seen of a “lower” trim level. I am seriously contemplating one of these. I might wait for the diesel as well. I had 2 JK 4 door Wranglers and had no issues with either one. I feel like the JL and Gladiator are likely to be even more reliable. Certainly not a concern for me.
I love the truck but $46k for a trim level above base is pretty insane. Max that I would pay for that rig is $36-39k range. Nice review either way.
I thought I wanted this. I will stay with my MORE CAPABLE ZR2. Jeep is charging waaay to much monies!
Yeah, for 45,000 you can definitely get a ZR2. The truck he is driving likely has open differential front and rear and it is 1 inch lower than the Rubicon ($60,000+) skid plates are minimal and that box sticks sooo far out back due to the size of the interior and how far back on the frame it is set. I actually like the Wrangler white a bit. Don’t have a need or feeling to buy one, but they are not too bad. Still expensive. I don’t like the Gladiator, as you can tell. In the mid sizes market, the ZR2 is the best deal, period! I believe it is the most capable as well. Some argue the Rubicon Gladiator, I say no, maybe the Rubicon Wrangler, but then that isn’t a pick-up!!
I hope your ZR2 does you well!! I have a Canyon Denali Duramax, I gave to a family member as a present (they fell on serious hard times and I needed a full size truck still). They love that thing and it breaks 30 mpg! So far not a single issue in 35,000 km (in Canada).
Stay safe out there.
@@shitloveaduck Yeah I LOVE my ZR2. almost at 30K with ZERO problems.
@@giabyul Using Chevy and Zero problems in the same sentence is an oxymoron. 2017-2019 they were rated less than average when it came to reliability. Time will tell for the 2020. A Tacoma TRD PRO is way ahead in terms of reliability and off-road capabilities, not to mention insane resale value as well. While trucks in general depreciate slowly, Jeep Wranglers are on a completely different level in terms of resale value. Since the Gladiator is technically a wrangler with a bed, I am betting it will hold its value just the same.
I love my gladiator sport that’s all anyone needs .
The big question is will you be test driving a Gladiator Mojave?
I like it, but everyone says it's the hottest truck out there. I haven't seen many on the roads of New England. Most people are buying the JLs for the price. I have a 2016 Tundra Crewmax and was planning on trading it in for the Gladiator, but after seeing the price I'm out. lol
Seriously considering this, but concerned about reliability. Like you said, maybe that’s part of owning it. Do jeeps really have that many problems?
I had my JK for over 3 years, built on 37’s and supercharged. One leaky door fixed under warranty. That was it. Maybe I was lucky??
Correction. That is the highest level of the gauges you can get.
Wrangler is fantastic!!!
That's a fairly good looking Hummer H3T
WHY DON'T THEY HAVE REMOVABLE FENDERS ?
It's too big and long. I'd much rather own a mint TJ. Such a fun little Jeep.
Lol I paid 8k below MSRP.
hey my good friends
45k for a Jeep with cloth seats that are manually adjustable. I don't get it.
Definitely something I'd buy if the rear seats were bigger. 46grand, yikes.
You just talked yourself into buying one..lol
Way overpriced for a just above base model. This is too bad because this will price a lot of people out of the market.
THE ONLY THING WRONG IN MY OPION IS?? THE COLOR AN RIM AN TIRE SIZE. 32 INCH TIRES AN A WIDER RIM. OTHER THAN THAT ITS WHAT IT IS.
$45,700 = ZR2, Tacoma TRD Off-road, Z71 or All Terrain Colorado/Canyon (Eaton auto locking rear axel) and fully loaded, Ranger Lariat FX4. On the lighter side, Canyon Denali Duramax??
This Jeep likely has open differential front and rear and can’t get it until a Rubicon. At best it has a limited slip rear differential. Still no good if one tire is in the air. Sorry, this is just a base convertible pickup. If you do nothing more than what was in the video as off-road, it will do fine, but for the money,,,,,,,,,,
I appreciate your honesty that you are partial to this vehicle and I have always said, “if you can afford it, and like it, buy it, regardless of what others (like me) say!”
I hope your “new Jeep (??)” does you well!
Can't wait for the diesel, I have a 18 ram diesel 1500 and love it to death, wouldn't mind giving that wife the ram and getting me a diesel jeep pickup 👍
Ugh looking hot in the leather cap 🤤
Don’t lie you want it fully loaded you’re looking at more than 50 grand
Who is lying about what?
worth $20,000 and not penny more
SO OVER PRICED!!! I just bought a 2019 Tacoma TRD 4x4 off road, the 2nd highest trim model, for a sticker price of $34,000.
Amen brother, I love jeeps and I love the look of this gladiator, but for what's given, its completely overpriced. I too have a 2017 TRD OFF ROAD 4X4, 33,000 out the door! A base jeep now days should be just above 30k, if that, some of them come without power windows and there right at 40k, how do they get away basically stealing from consumers?
The TRD off road 4x4 starts at $33,800. So you have no options ? I mean I priced one the other day, not loaded but a lot for over 50. Closer to 55 than 50.
And a gladiator sport starts at $33,500....some reference please
And I like the Tacoma. Don’t get me wrong. I’m gonna purchase something soon. The fact that you can take everything off makes my decision for the Jeep. Yes they are expensive for a rubicon gladiator. But I have the money and I will be happier with the Jeep. Just sayin. If you’re happy great but $34,000 for a TRD 4x4 is seriously misleading. I add one an auto to the TRD and it’s just over 35...not sure what you have. Or don’t have I should say.
@@skipdippity Fair enough, My truck is a 6 speed manuel, a $1200 option. Keep in mind, Chrysler, and Fiat own Jeep, the 2 worse quality auto companies in the WORLD. I bought the number 1 resale valued vehicle, and the highest quality auto manufacturer. Plus don't forget, you should never buy the first year production, period. Test drive both, it's all I'm saying.
Just a heads up for anyone looking to buy one. The area behind the rear doors is SUPER EASY to dent. It’s very weak sheet metal. I was crawling around one at the dealer and I just bumped it with my knee and it left a pretty hefty dent in the side.
I really want to like the new Gladiator. I’ve had a fully built TJ (long arms, 60s, full Poison Spyder Customs fenders all around, etc) and a mildly build JKUR. First thing is, I don’t fit without hitting my head inside. I’m 6’5”. Then the flimsy sheet metal. Then the cheesy non roll bar roll bars. I don’t know. It’s calling me. But I just don’t like it. It’s like a hit ex girlfriend... that’s a psycho. The sex was great. But the relationship was a nightmare.
The JL series uses a lot of thinner metals and aluminum in its body structure now.
Love your videos sexy and love the gladiator
The tailights are hideous.
As a pick up truck? No thank you.
I'm sick & tired of this Wrangler with a bed trying hard to be a pickup truck
It has the highest payload and tow ratings in class. How is it not a pickup truck?
This vehicle only looks good with a 2” lift or more. This particular model should only be priced at $30-33K.. it is disgustingly overpriced for what you get. But.. Jeep will continue to rip off customers as long the schmucks keep lining up to buy them and willingly pay the exorbitant prices. 🤷🏻♂️
I’m sorry but the Gladiator is ugly esp towards the back
The Wrangler looks ten times better this is just ugh
And 46K and you can’t even get LED headlight
GTFO !!!!!
Nice interior, still the body looks horrible, a truck for clowns most definitely.
Vince A I agree with you 100 percent
It wanders all over the road..It has no "charm"..I had to purchase a $300 steering stabilizer to keep it from running off the road..Buyer beware!!
Am I the only that feels that thing is ugly AF? Just my humble opinion tho.
You need glass, hihihi
