2020 Jeep Gladiator Quick Review | Code Brown

- We got or hands on the 2020 Gladiator, a brand new midsize truck from Jeep. Built off the strengths of the JL Wrangler, this new Gladiator takes a more heavy duty approach which allows for towing and hauling of gear and people. The truck and SUV scene is blowing up and there are more vehicles now more than ever. This Gladiator makes no attempt to copy competitors like the Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma or Chevy Colorado. Will people buy it? We shall see.

Industry leading video quality. Seriously, I just watched a redline review video and it was not even remotely close.
#shotsfired
So true tho, and this is coming from a fan of redline reviews. Savagegeese with his cinematography and the way he speaks about a vehicle is on another level then anyone else in the YT community.
RR is fucking trash.
stop watching that garbage.
This channel’s cinematography rivals the grand tour, and top gear. Much less, CZcams alone.
SG “quick review” 100x better than anyone else’s normal review.
100% accurate
it's actually ridiculous
Best in class review
9:27 the last time we saw "the goose" before he got jacked and kidnapped by a blonde lady.
Andy Carlson that's why we need to share his videos
Yass. Industry leading best in class premium branding upscale content
I was laughing for a second, because I thought you were going to refer to the Jeep! Hahaha
Yes. also first tier exquisite special edition one handmade grand series luxury excelsior. Seriously tho, this video looks like $100k in production costs. Yet somehow DeMuro gets away with a cheap setup and get tons of views.
@@ycnexu it's because Doug's content is easily digestible. You don't have to be a car person to enjoy his videos. Just like memes or fast food you don't have to think about it just consume.
You forgot to mention platinum and gucci, aint nobody gonna take you serious unless you got plats son.
Your words made me tear up. Beautiful.
Seriously??? What is the problem with your channel Savagegeese? Hands down you're the best of your kind on CZcams and somehow you have less subscribers than AlexOnAutos. The production of this video deserves multiple awards and the content as always is A+, what else do people want?? Love you man, never stop.
BOT DINGO that's why we need to share his videos
Because a lot of people will find his videos very very boring.
@@moa-wg3bo is right. He has such a high production quality
True jeep people might say wind and tire noise is a plus...
Yup, its a Jeep thing like loud exhaust is a sports car fan thing...lol.
Look at the April 2019 issue of Consumer Reports magazine at a library- the Wrangler gets poor test drive scores, and low estimated reliability scores based on the last 10 years for similar Wranglers, and it still gets high owner satisfaction scores. In addition, worldwide crash test scores are poor, while US crash testing is being slow-walked so Motor Trend can give it an annual award and say it has not been crash tested in the US yet. Style over substance. Probably the same for this Gladiator (good movie). One problem is the better a vehicle is off road, the more it sucks on pavement. Maybe it will turn out to be more reliable than the Wrangler - buying the first model year is a gamble.
Jeff Ruebens see that’s your first issue is reading about “estimated” reliability. I’ve seen cars that get high reliability scores and always have issues. A lot of my family are mechanics and see the vehicles that need to be repaired and what years they are. Yes jeeps have reliability issues and so does every other car manufacturer. I don’t care if Honda and Toyota get high reliability scores because wit means nothing. When Honda engines were cracking or have had family with a civic that had 50,000 miles on it and engines blew or friends who work at Honda tell me the amount of transmissions they have to replace because they are not reliable or even with Toyota having a lot of issues with their hybrids and even electronics failing. I don’t follow estimated reliability crap I live in the world and what I experience and others I talk to such as people I know who work at dealerships that what I believe not what JD power says who in the U.S surveys people after 90 days unlike the UK where it after 2 years of actually owning the vehicle.
@@jeffruebens8355 : Sure I remember Consumer Report favored the Rav4 AWD over the Jeep Wrangler. Yeah that was a laugh. BTW, if you want to burn your money buy the Rav4.
@@2Phast4Rocket yeah why don't they compare the resale value of the RAV4 against the Wrangler. I'll take real world over estimates.
Gotta love the timeless look. This will age so much better than any other truck.
It's the Swiss army knife of vehicles. Tow a boat? Convertible cruise down the coast? Off road shenanigans? Home Depot run? Take three people to lunch? Swiss Army knife. I really want one. Great review 👍😎
That’s a great way to look at the Gladiator. It’s a Wrangler and a truck. Lots of overlanders want this because the Wrangler has always had limited space.
The interior is no better than a Wrangler.
This is more premium than I expected for a morning on humpday
You need to reset your expectations on hump day it seems.
The premiumest....
This to me is special. It doesn't look like a bar of soap, like every other crossover/SUV/truck out there. It offers a V6 and a manual transmission. It can go over mountains. It has a lot of character. Yes, it is flawed, but that's what makes it different. Overall, a vehicle that stands out and feels very special.
I think the manual Rubicon's of this vehicle will be collector cars in the future.
@@kabloosh699 Oh yeah, definitely. Plus, should increase reliability. Manuals last forever and are easy to maintain.
Compromises not flaws :)
This truck is one of a kind
Thankfully the Tacoma also comes with the V6 and Manual Transmission.
High praise from a reviewer who doesn't tolerate half assed attempts from manufacturers.
Looking forward to the full review.
My gut reaction is that this truck just looks awkward. But I guess that's where Jeep scores points.
There is nothing like it on the road.
The after market companies are drooling right now.
Chuck Iringtwice so are the repair shops
I always enjoy 2 guys 1 truck with plenty of CODE BROWN.
This channel is quickly becoming my favorite review channel. The cinematography is beautiful, the details you provide are well thought out; really the overall content is just great. Well done.
Where is the loud music and the shaky camera?
@guy proulx TFL also really likes to talk about fuel economy. which is completely irrelevant with vehicles like this lol
guy proulx hahahahahhaa
SAVAGEGEESE: when a quick review is far superior to everybody else's full review
Mark, the type of guy to have the best cinematography in the car review business.
Fantastic video! The 4k footage is just stunning, and I really dig this co-hosting format with Jack. Can't wait for the full review
i think your editing skills have gone down hill after peaking in that awesome honda civic review video
Agreed, im disappointed.
Thumbs down, unsub, reported, blocked, etc
Would not be you tube without some bashing. You forgot to call him bald also.
I hope that's sarcasm.
He had 8 hours to drive and film. Editing can only do so much. Calm thyself.
@@802Garage He was being sarcastic. His Civic review was an April Fools joke video (which was terrible).
Another masterpiece review.
The deeper the darkness, the easier it is to see a single light.
Well done FCA/Jeep! what an incredible vehicle!
Amazing job thank you for all the time put in to this review it's full of honesty and straight forward
Love the video. I am looking at getting a gladiator currently and hearing about the way it makes you feel when you drive it and the personality of the truck really sold me on it. I really look forward to getting one soon! Thanks again!
I have been waiting for a Jeep truck for a long time and this doesn’t disappoint
Hey! Welcome to my part of California! Glad you got a sunny day to film, they've been rare. As usual, great shots, sound, and editing, and the lack of BS is always a treat.
Very impressive video my friend. I like the way you described the truck and I could really see your honesty. Thank you for that!
Man yours is one of the really few channels were the talking head parts are actually interesting and bearable. I have no option or motivation to go off road like that and dont much care about trucks, but still watched every second. It is so well paced and edited with these awesome drone shots and pans, looks so good and really gets this "Jeep Feel" across. You are telling a story as well as reviewing the car. Oh and the sound and music are fitted very nicely to the different scenes.
Damn!!! The quality of the music and sound effects are just great!!
Can we say cinematographic level?
You give the best reviews. Thank you for making quality content.
So far you have the best review that I’ve seen. Very well spoken sir. 👍
Really loved that you took the Jeep truck off-roading for this video this is like a special review
And of course this is very detailed as well
OMG, your videos are awesome. Just the video quality alone is amazing but your reviews in general are the best. I think I want to trade my 2017 Ridgeline in thanks to you.
I admire your production skills and I appreciate that you take the time to put so much into the organization, facts, and straight up video quality. Thats why I've been a subscriber for so long and get excited to see your videos. Keep it up I know I will be waiting #subscriberforlife
Wow. What an incredibly well done review. I am very impressed.
Great video as always! Keep doing what you're doing.
I love the Gladiator.. It looks badass.. I hope it does well for Chrysler.. Always liked the Commanche from way back when. Thanks for making this video!!
I never thought I'd ever want a Chrysler product, let alone a Jeep, but I'm digging this truck. Reminds me of the old Toyota FJ45 Crew pickup
Just finished my morning coffee, so now it's time to drop my own code brown. Nice video though!
I know it wouldn't sell, but I wish there was a two door option. The four door dimensions look odd to me.
Inmate 3562 I agree. Since when did regular cab pickups become so hated? It seems like you can barely give away regular cab pickups anymore.
Michael Salsman just throw em in the bed.
@Michael Salsman I have a pet and he just rides in the passenger seat in my single cab.
Agreed. From the B-pillar back, the Gladiator is disfigured and ill-proportioned. Nasty.
Kent I’m guessing the suv popularity with having 4doors and they can charged more at the same time
Your reviews just keep getting better and better Mr. Geese! I don't like this Jeep but I love your video!
Once again, another masterpiece of a video
sketch088 he is killing the bigger channels with the quality of his videos
I appreciated your describing the people involved in the design. The personalisation of something like the Gladiator significantly increases its value - especially compared to cop-outs like the "new" Ranger. Clearly, this thing was created by people who give a shit and who want to make a product that will be truly appreciated by the people that GET it - not just bought and used like an appliance, as is the case with most modern vehicles. I had a similar mindset to yours, regarding FCA, until you personalised this truck for me. I'll be considering it in the future; the first time an FCA product has crossed my radar for any reason other than immediate dismissal in a long time. It is indeed obvious when a project is undertaken with enthusiasm. This is one of those projects.
You deserve more subscribers, dude. Great work.
As always, worth sitting through. Appreciate what your trying to do...
Great reviews, thanks!
Great review! One of the best so far.
Nice job this is one of the few vehicles I knew nothing about before this vid
Basically press/media launch reviews are completely rubbish, they force you to say good things but you guys in true savagegeese fashion managed to keep it real. Looking forward to the full review :)
They don't really force you to say anything. You can totally trash the car, if you want. Whether or not you'll be invited to the next event, is a different story, though.
@@dsugioaga You literally just described their way of forcing people to say nice things. Your point is, he we abducted you but you dont have to pay us any money- whether or not we will kill you is a different story. Come on now, grow a brain.
@@maxmeier532 Well, what do you expect? Would you invite me to your house a second time after I trashed you and your belongings during my first visit? Access to these events is no given right and it's not even that important to reviewers - getting a car for a full review on the other hand is.. and who do you think provides the cars for most reviewers? Are all the reviews out there fake and all the reviewers corporate shills? I don't think so.
There's also a little thing called judgement - if you have a little of it, you should be able to tell, if somebody is shilling for a product... and then you can just make up your own mind.
It’s so refreshing to see a company, a manufacturer that appreciates the benefits of focus and knowing their audience and fans. Won’t appeal to everyone, but damn am i happy it exists and I’m not even a ‘Jeep guy’
very well produced video. Love the jeep galdiator - good job mate.
I enjoyed watching the beautiful landscape. Although this very nice truck is not for sale here in the Netherlands, it would be too expensive next to that it needs two parking spots, I watched the review to the end. I must say, I always do that since your reviews are the best and interesting until the end. Keep 'm coming!
I like it and looks will be a successful product for FCA. Thanks for the great review
Excellent video review... My compliments.
Damn goose, your quick drive vid just destroyed everyone elses normal vid. Nice work mark! And as for the gladiator, coming from a Tacoma owner, I love seeing all the competition in this segment. It really will have a positive affect as a whole on all trying to out do each other. Exciting times for the mid size truck seg!
Savage geese and a Jeep? Never clicked the video so fast. Best reviewer period
This is the first look at the gladiator that makes me actually kind of like it. Definitely best in class reviewer.
That Toddd ending cracks me up every time.
Wow, I am impressed by the Gladiator. That towing capacity it has is insane, combined with the off-road capabilities + that price. I don't know why anyone would even bother with any other truck now.
Mr. Goose real Jeep people want a Wrangler/Gladiator without all the frills. Just a manual transmission, roll up windows, removable top, removable doors, and a basic radio. For 25k or less. They don't want anything fancy. Those are the people who would prefer to save their money for modifications instead of paying for things that they don't want. Great video by the way. I love your reviews especially when you get the vehicles on the lift!
The 10 second Toddd action at the end of each video is my favorite part.
Easily one of the best reviews for The Gladiator so far.
I have been waiting for you to drive/film his jeep with your no bull shit approach. I wasn’t disappointed Thanks seems a great vehicle
Really enjoyed the premium scenery in this one. I'm by no means a Jeep guy but this looks interesting, mainly because of how capable it seems. Looking forward to the full review!
Your videos are on a whole nother level compared the everyone else!
Love your reviews. I have seen several reviews on the gladiator and yours is so to the point, that it makes me only want to believe yours. Not that I’ll ever buy a FCA Vehicle, but this is an all in one home run. Come on Toyota an FJ Tacoma, or a K10 Blazer Silverado, or a Bronco F100 Raptor.
Man SERIOUSLY, watching your reviews is like watching high budget Hollywood movies 😍 I hope one day, I'll be 50% as good as you... #respect
Hi, I've seen several Gladiator launch event videos, but nobody seems to mention what to do with bits of roof (hard top and soft top), when you remove them. I'm not an off road or Jeep person, but I suppose I may want to get the convertible experience when off-roading, but as the weather changes or I get back on the highway I may want to put the roof back on. Roof panels (in case of the hard top) and that sliding rear plastic window (in case of the soft top) seem like they could take up a lot of space. I know there's a whole truck bed, but I don't think I should just throw them there with whatever cargo or recreational equipment I am carrying. Jeep made a box for screws, so perhaps they have a solution for pieces of roof as well?
You're outta luck. I had a Wrangler. Either stuff the bits inside where they'll get damaged/stolen, or leave them at home and freeze/get wet/etc. Still glad they gave the option, though I wish they would have made it look more properly proportioned.
Beautiful and capable vehicle! I just wish you could push the front seat back further for more leg room up front (I am 6'4").
I love the intros. The feels
Cant do Patreon but I can let those ads play. Great quality content.
Wow I am completely surprised at how comfortable onroad this is. Another great video by you Savage. Any sign of funny behavior on the highway? Anyway love your video's and the comedy bits you insert with Toddd.
Another amazing review. Keep up with the great work! Also you think you can do a fine print on the Honda 1.5l oil dilution issues? I’m reading so many different things on the issue and what could be the causes. I have a 2018 Civic Si and no oil dilution issues however I live in south Florida and I do break over 2k rpms lol.
I grew up on Asian brands and not a truck guy. My only experience with fca is a 2016 dodge journey I owned for 2 years. The pentastar v6 and little storage knooks were its only redeeming qualities. This truck has me very interested. Like you stated, coming from a regular car background interior noise is my only concern. But I think it's something I can live with for the capability and practicality of this truck.
Just bought one.. Fantastic!!
thx for another great one
As good as these reviews are, the outros have become my favorite part.
Finally, a Gladiator review I want to see...Not a media outlet who just puts someone with a pretty, or handsome face up....Or that guy who was so bougie he has to wear boot covers during the review because"it's sooo muddy...". Thank you SaveGeese!!!!
If you leave this truck in the sun for two days it smells exactly like 1977.
I really want to see you review the new Ranger or do a comparison video!
Getting a Rubicon Gladiator only to get high center due to the long wheelbase...
I'm not a fan of FCA, but god damnit this is one of the coolest pickup trucks ever!
They make some of the coolest cars right now, period. Hellcat, Demon, Abarth, Pacifica and now the Gladiator
@@RotchildFrancoisJr Pacifica? lmao get outta here
@@lunisce I would agree but the Pacifica is actually not too bad now. They even make air suspension for it lol
Abarth?😂😂 lol I mean unless u want to be at the mechanic every day go ahead
@@lunisce Lol tell me it's not the coolest minivan on the market! 😂 Gotta be inclusive, it's not all about sports cars.
Wow, you really sold this thing! Suddenly It's on my list.
This! I was waiting for this
Want. They should SO do a wagon version with this same tray sized cargo space. Without 3rd row seats. That in a diesel would be my ultimate work wagon.
Goose sums it up admirably. Jeep knows what their customers want and gives it to them in spades. That's a recipe for success, assuming your business model is squared away and you're not an HMO that builds cars on the side, like some companies we can think of.
Love how you time the ads.
Nice review. Turn signal lights must be yellow in the front and in the back.🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
I might be wrong about this, (and probably am) but I think they should have also offered a straight-up two passenger, two door version with a full size cargo bed for those people who have serious off-road trucking business to take care of on a daily basis. In other words, a dedicated off-road work truck.
OK... this is actually cooler than I anticipated.
a quick Grand Cherokee review would be great as well and probably easy to get one for review
Your stuff always looks so great. You could edit movies
I want one of those so much!!!
Amazing review, but my primary question is: does the extreme weight (5,070 Lbs) of the Gladiator manifest as a penalty? During the review it was compared to a Taco and a Ranger, but heck - in some configs it's 700 Lbs heavier than a F150. So, other than fuel efficiency, is there a downside to carrying that extra mass?
Nice job sir.
TY TY for not kissing soooo much ass to get invited to these press releases like TFL and the others. I like your honest opinion on vehicles. GREAT JOB
@6:49 "no pickup truck in this segment, Taco, Ranger, Colorado, there's not a truck that can do this". Hmm,...I think a Taco TRD Pro could negotiate that course, but, yeah, this truck is impressive. Great video, best one for the Gladiator on CZcams.
Billy Hughes I agree. The Tacoma TRD Pro and the Colorado ZR2 wouldn’t have any trouble with that course.
That was my bad on my end. What the gladiator touts is “best in class, clearance, approach and departure angles. It also has the most armor underneath. The reason I prefer it to the Colorado is the airbags won’t deploy randomly while off roading and the taco while potentially more reliable. feels dated, gets worse Milage, tows less and honestly is less fun.
Ideal vehicle for farmers and tradespeople who work in the country. I don't think twice about driving a normal car on bush tracks, but honestly, that trail would be a tank and diff slapper for a normal car.
That's a dope jacket. Subtle camo. siiiick
Yeah I liked how subtle it was.
That is a RIDICULOUS off road course.
Were you all operating out of the Hilton in Sacramento? I work down the street and on my way home last night I saw a convoy of Gladiators with Michigan plates. I saw a filthy one at the Shell on Arden.
What brand jacket are you wearing and where did you purchase it. Please and thank you.
"quick review" is still 15 mins of some of the highest production quality car vid on CZcams. Geese is fucking crazy
thanks as always
