How gut wrenching. Not how you want the story to end. Rebuild and rebound time🤙
Awsome story, great buck. Congrats
Thank you for documenting this. Great story with an unfortunate ending but a lot learned! I am in west central MN and there was 20+ dead deer found surrounding the hay bails on my grandpas property in just one location last winter. No disease from the samples sent in just a very tough winter.
Live in MN and last winter was brutal. Found several dead deer on our land. Just tons of snow and there was ice all below it. Thanks for sharing the story. Well put together as always.
I’m sorry for your loss what a awesome buck 😢
I live in central Minnesota by Mille lacs and I found 6 deer after that same snow storm cold snap.
Great story. Not always about the kill shot. I love these creatures and we need to pay respect to them God bless
Danm what a sad story im so sorry guys i cant even imagine the heart break love your channel been a huge fan since day 1 been buying your products. Thank you for all the video's
I thank God I live in LA (lower Alabama). The deer dont get nearly as big but at least the Winter wont kill you or the deer.I feel bad for yalls hard work seemingly being wasted but theres a purpose for everything.
So do I
I'd say he wasn't dead long from when yall found him or he would've been stiff as a board at 30 below, what a story and glad at least yall found him
What a great story, I unfortunately haven’t been able to get any deer this year but I’m taking notes and tips!
Good luck!
Great video, thanks for sharing!
U should look at frozen lung. This happens when high humidity and severe cold colide. In s dakota last yr rancher lost over 2000 beef cows to this very thing. They can't breath because of temp and humidity. My thoughts.
Very terrible ending for both of them bucks. But as JJ said y’all watched them and learned alot from them and it’s just more knowledge you have gained to better you guys as hunters and Mike I feel that your theory on how Payton died was spot on. I have been following along since 2018 with all of the videos you guys have put out watched them all several times and I swear by the Phaze3 the black rack and extinguisher them three products and the tactics explained in the videos have taken my hunting to a whole new level. Looking forward to the next coming videos and how your guys 2023 season went.
Great story! Too bad he wasn’t harvested but at least you found him.
Just got my first ever deer let alone it being a buck. 140lb 4 pointer and I’ve been working my tail off trying to find one deer
What a bummer. The deer herds are not doing so great across the Midwest. Between EHD, CWD, and higher numbers of hunters the numbers seem to be down. I used to see several deer when I'd sit prior to 2012. I still see deer just fewer. I live in south eastern Indiana and last year EHD hit hard and this year shows. I've seen more spikes than ever.
I’m pretty sure I’m not “far” from you guys, last winter was absolutely terrible in MN/WI and it showed this fall. I found 17 alone in a 500 acre tract dead because of winter kill.
Wow very sad to see 2 beautiful bucks die due to the weather and being run down from the rut they both deserved a better faith but that’s nature always enjoy the vids thank you
Do you guys ever shoot does
First Shed hunt on property, so cool,,then freezing to death ,sucks , nice mount though
What a shame that he died of old age and cold weather but at least you found him 😢
Tip my hat to Payton
That would be very disappointing!!!
Very disappointing! But makes you appreciate these animals even more knowing the struggles they endure throughout their lives with extreme weather, predators, territories, etc. They are some of the most resilient, magnificent animals housed by Mother Nature!
