This morning, 15th of May, 2015, I read BB King passed away at the age of 89. So sad for the world! May he Rest in Peace!

When you are so good that you can strip a guitar riff down to its bare essential and still totally captivate a crowd. I find myself clinging to every note. Vintage classic blues. It’s simply fantastic. B.B. King is easily one of the best blues guitar players of all time. This is what inspired many of the great blues rock artists that followed.
I know you two would love Gary Moore Empty Rooms Live Stockholm 1987, my favourite song and solo from him!

Good point about why they call it the blues, Travis. I tend to think of it as the artist plays the blues because of their trails and tribulations and adversities and it’s pain translated into music, which yes, can make others feel good 🖤

I got to see BB King at a local music venue about 25 years ago. He had two shows scheduled that night. We had tix to the second show. Unfortunately poor BB was exhausted after his first show and he ended up going to sleep in his tour bus. I think our show was supposed to start at like 9pm or 10pm. But they kept telling us to hang on, BB would be out eventually. I think he finally took the stage around 1130pm. Still put on an AMAZING show! Also got to see Etta James a couple of times. Another blues legend.
ive seen dozens of bands time and time again including Gary but I would swap it all just to have seen this live

You should really check out some of Gary's metal years stuff: Victims of the Future, Shapes of Things, End of the World, All Messed Up.... just insane playing!!!
And appropriately, Gary used the Peter Green Les Paul.

BB King liked Peter Greens tone, it was Peter who sold that guitar to Gary Moore, Peters sound was more like BB than anyone.
